Place has gone extremely downhill since Dr. Kristen Graham left. You guys lost the best dentist at your practice and the only one who actually cares about the clients. I used to go here years ago and when I went due to pain and a cracked crown, I got Dr. Shaw. Historically, I saw Dr. Raiffe but I guess he was fired (based on feedback) and tech Summer is gone as well. They made the place warm and did excellent work. However, the place is cold and Krista is the worst. I came in with my child that is special needs because his tech called off. They said it was "fine" to have him there (they wanted the money) although I told them that I could come back. It was pretty empty that day and some staff that wasn't busy played with him during the crown replacement. After this, I called in because I was having more pain after the crown and wanted to schedule for this and eventually my cleaning. Krista told me that my son was not allowed on the premises (although I told her his technician would be with him in the waiting room). She stated that I needed to "leave him at home" which is in violation of ADA laws. I went to another dentist due to this and found out that Dr. Shaw put a crown on a tooth that had an infection on one root - something that she should have caught with due diligence. The other dentist did several x-rays but NDP only did the one with the machine that spins around your head. I had to pay for x-rays a second time because Krista did not send my records. I requested my records several times and Krista claims she mailed them but in email correspondence; she is completely dishonest about several things. She also ghosted me and ignored my requests to resolve the matter. Once I mentioned contacting my attorney, she stated that "you can bring your son." He wasn't welcome before I contacted my attorney. I am serious about my son's rights as a disabled person and he should be treated with dignity. Krista is cold, unprofessional, dishonest, and her name should be Karen. This place is cold - it wasn't like this before. They lack empathy and seem to only care about money. The quality of care has tremendously declined as well. I did not feel cared for and ended up paying twice for one tooth. I want a refund and will not be going back! I had planned on getting an implant and invisalign with them but will go elsewhere. I saved up to treat myself but I do not trust Dr. Shaw's work. I specifically asked her for ozone and she did not want to do it. I remember when Dr. Raiffe did my other crown, he did the ozone as a preventative measure and no pain after the crown. They are expensive and I don't mind paying for good work; but they are unprofessional, lack empathy, and not a quality provider in my opinion. I should not have to spend approximately two months requesting my records or a refund. I have to pay to another provider to get the tooth properly fixed. Not worth the time or headache - find a practice that actually cares about their patients. Taking short cuts to save money at patient's expense is wild work. Shame on Karen and Dr. Shaw. Extremely UNPROFESSIONAL and rude staff. Specially Irene, who is the Office manager no less. But also Summer and frankly, everyone I interacted with, except for Megan. Do not recommend this office at all. Do yourself a favor and stay away. There are other holistic, naturally minded options available that actually care about their patients and are reasonable and professional. We live 2 hours away from their office in Phoenix. We do our regular dental care here in town but since it's a small town I couldn't find a dentist that offered the dental appliances (Homeoblock for adults & Healthy Start for Kids). My husband stays home with our baby and loses his workday, I take my 3 kids out of school and off we go on the 6+ hour exhausting day that awaits us (4 hr drive to Phoenix total + appointment time). We get there and they have a projector in their lobby. My 6 year old twin boys and 4 year old daughter are of course immediately attracted to this bright light that somehow displays images. + There's nothing else that stands out in a gray and white lobby for kids. You'd think if they are going to see kids, they'd be prepared for them. In any case, the projector is set on the wall in a box so no chance of it getting damaged. They are using their fingers to block the images and laughing and talking to each other about it. Not an ideal way for them to act but they just sat for 2 hours straight in the car and the staff isn't complaining so I decide to give them a break and let them do that. Also, I practice conscious and gentle parenting as much as I can so I try to be tolerant of them and let them be kids as much as I can. One of the twins gets on the box that encloses the projector (I think to see the image closer & because he's 6), gets told by Irene to get down, he does and doesn't do that again. She then brings them scratch books to play with and after that, of course, since the kids have something to do & are entertained, the rest of our waiting time in the lobby was fine. We finally get called back & nobody mentions anything about the kids being disrespectful or anything along those lines. They are very still and stand very precisely for panoramic X-rays as instructed (mind you they are 6 & 4) and then we head to the room for bitewings X-rays; which was a lengthy process because they either did not have the appropriate pediatric equipment or Summer has no experience with kids. I know my regular dentist has no problem getting their X-rays. We get through it though & it's finally time to see Kristen Graham to get their Healthy Start appliances. She comes in the room and instead of greeting me, perhaps asking how the kids are, how was our drive or any of the standard medical or dentist welcome, she informs me that it has been decided because my kids were being loud, putting their fingers on the projector and because apparently one of the twins put his shoes on the wall while on his seat at the lobby, that they will not be seeing us and they will not provide the service we booked and paid for. No warning, no -hey, we do see kids but we are not a pediatric office, so if the kids keep being loud or misbehaved or whatever they thought they were being, we are going to have to ask you to leave-. Or maybe, -hey, can we suggest you put a video on your phone, we really need the kids to be settled- or anything that you'd expect from an office that is run professionally would do. 0 care for my kids, me or my family. They just couldn't handle kids having normal age appropriate behavior and instead of trying to find a solution and communicating and working with me as mature, professional adults, they just kicked us out. Irene, Summer, Kristen, Ingo Mahn (who I spoke on the phone) and the office staff handled this so poorly and with such an attitude and disdain that I'm truly in awe that they are in business. Such an irony, because they advertise, that the appliance is helpful for kids with ADHD. If they couldn't handle my kids, who do not have ADHD; they sure can't handle the target population they claim to want to help. read more

I had lost my sleep apnea device on vacation and had been to a dentist across the street who required excessive treatment before they would help me with my sleep apnea device. They said I needed five fillings, sealants and multiple gum treatments before they would work with my sleep apnea device. That company took insurance. I sought a second opinion from Natural Dental Partners. I was delighted! I had no cavities that required filling just observation, no sealants recommended, they had in office laser treatment for my gums that day and set me up with Dr. Mahn to get going on my sleep apnea device. Yes I had to pay out of pocket, but saved myself unnecessary treatment and the got the care I needed. This was 3 years ago and I'm still seeing them regularly at their new location. Be warned! This is not an ethical business! They are not even holistic. For example, they never once offered ozone over four years, even when requested. We have had two family members use their practice for over four years. I had a dark spot on a tooth that I asked about and they said it was "discoloration". The next appointment, they tell me it's decay and needs to be addressed. If I had known that I would have been addressing it for those six months. They wanted to get money out of this tooth is the only explanation (or perhaps they are ignorant to what decay looks like???). My daughter had painfully deep cavities filled last December which should have never been allowed to get that deep while coming every six months for years. They admitted that they missed an X-ray during one appointment. Sloppy business practice? Then, when she went this summer, they said she needed ten cavities filled. In six months? They said all were through the dentine and necessary to fill. We have since received two other evaluations and only five need to be filled but it's not urgent even for those. We have also received much better care such as getting to the root cause and recommendations of products, habit and diet that were never made by Dr. Mahn's office. Further evidence of shady business practice when we asked for her week old X-rays to get a second opinion. The dentist nervously called her. They refused to send over X-rays without a $250 fee. This was not disclosed PRIOR to taking the X-rays. We were informed of the fee AFTER we requested the records, not prior to buying the X-rays. They sent a form to fill out for the transfer and that had the fee listed on it. Bait and switch could be applicable here. We pay for the X-rays so they are ours. This is not usual and customary business practice anywhere in the dental nor medical field. So, be warned! You can go here for years and still get your deepest cavities ever, be lied to about your X-ray results and also be forced to pay $250 to get a second opinion! Steer clear! There are many holistic dentists in the area that are thorough, professional and kind. There are even non-holistic dentists that are better in the area. read more

Found Natural Dental Partners after doing a natural care dental search. There really aren't to many natural care places around. Super happy I found this place! Dr Shaw and everyone that works there are nice and helpful. I got my toxic mercury fillings out. My consult with Megan the airway clinical coordinator was informative and I am excited to get my treatment going and start feeling better! I will give all 5 stars after treatment. I had been wanting to get my amalgams out for a couple of years, but had to wait because I was pregnant and breast feeding. I did my due diligence and looked up dentists who were SMART certified and IAOMT ceritifed. I came upon 2 dentists that I could drive to. When time came for me to finally be able to get them out, I called both offices. The other wasn't seeing new patients for 6 months, and since I had already waited a couple of years I opted to go here. I was told Ingo Mahn (who is on the IAOMT site) was not doing procedures himself anymore, but every dentist in their office followed the SMART protocol and the IAOMT website just didn't reflect this yet. Their website reiterates their use of the SMART protocol as well. Upon booking my appt for the removal, I asked if they followed all SMART protocol steps and was told yes. The day of removal, I was given a solution to rinse with. It seems to be iron, sodium, betonite clay. I was told to rinse for 30s and swallow. I had a usual small dental covering piece of material placed around my neck (paper towel size). I had a dental dam placed around the tooth. I was given cannula oxygen. At the end of the procedure, I was regiven the detox rinse and told to spit it out. That's it. That's all that was done for their "SMART Protocol". I am a busy mother of 3 who works full time, so late that night when I had some moments to reflect on this procedure and really look over the SMART protocol, I wanted to cry at how upset I was over what was missed. I will speak from my perspective as the patient vs what the doctor and assitant may have missed for theirselves. I did not have a protective gown placed over my body. I did not have a head/face/neck barrier under/around the dam. The nasal cannula was pointless as my nose was not completely covered by an impermeable barrier. A saliva ejector was not placed under the dental dam, and I could feel the water leaking in my mouth when sprayed (not sure it was sprayed enough either). I don't know if the oral aerosol vacuum was used during procedure, but I suspect it was not. I drove 4 hours and spent $1k to have this work done. I am horrified at what they consider "smart protocol" and how they lie to people. I am also upset with myself for believing them when they said they followed the smart protocol. This was no where near close to the protocol. If you want your amalgams safely removed, DO NOT GO HERE! Only see a dentist who actually shows up on the IAOMT website. read more

I love this office! I travel from South Phoenix (40-45 mins one way) because they are so great. They always take their time to explain everything to me and are so friendly. Where do I begin!? Every single staff member was helpful, kind, supportive and professional. I had an emergency appointment scheduled within 2 hours of calling them. This would be a five star review except that they have not filed any of my dental claims with my dental insurance from visit on 2/6, 3/20, 4/1, 4/17. When I mentioned this on 4/17, they said they'd do it that day. Well, it's now May 17, a month later, and my PayFlex account wants a processed EoB sent to them to validate the expense. The dentists are the best I've ever had in decades of dental work. The precision and knowledge is unsurpassed. The clarity of explanation is incredible. The cone beam scan showed a hidden infection under a root canal, and Dr. Shaw took care of it with dignity and patience (it was a tough tooth to remove). To be treated like a critical thinking human being who wants to know the why, how, and what is an amazing experience. I'll be calling them on Monday to make sure they have my dental insurance information and file all four visits SOON! Great dental facility and staff. Thorough and knowledgeable and the one time I mentioned a procedure he wasn't 100% on he said he would research it and for me to do the same and we would reconvene....THAT is the best possible response you could ever get! Every single person in the office was sweet and accommodating to my 4 year old daughter who had to come with me since it was a last minute appt...I lucked out and got in quick filling a canceled appt slot! I've scheduled an appt for my husband and we will both be continuing our dental work here. I was drawn to this place because of the good reviews and the natural dentist practices. I liked both Dr Rafi and the dental hygienist and would have liked to continue however, what I do not like is that my appointment to get involved procedures complete that I coordinated my life around was cancelled and reduced down to a 30 mins consult only with no explanation. I ws supposed to have a 10:30 consult and then start the procedures at 11am, back to back. While it was explained to me that they were short staffed, I was never apologized to, or given any explanation for the change in this appointment. I called a week early to prepay to get their 10% discount and that is when I found out. I would have been very upset to show up and not get the work done I had planned for. Like many people I am busy and do not feel that my time was respected, or that customer service is a priority at this practice. I even informed them that a phone call from management with an explanation would have been nice. I got nothing. The only thing I can surmise is that the front office staff is lacking organization and no one really cares. I guess someone much more important than me was coming in and I got bumped! I have never been treated so poorly. I can not continue with a place that does not care about me, my time, customer service and proper communication about appointments. read more

I learned of Dr. Mahn from an acquaintance. I immediately was interested because I was seeking a natural Dentist. I wanted to avoid mercury and other toxic substances. Dr. Mahn replaced 2 old crowns for me. The process was clean, easy, quick and comfortable. The crowns were ready and replaced in one visit. The numbing was non-toxic and effective. The staff are relaxed and pleasant. I cannot say enough about the wonderful atmosphere they provide as well as the amazing non-toxic, safe, natural approaches and products they use. Wow! I don't give 5 star reviews lightly. In my 2 year "odyssey" to find the right dental practice for myself and my family, I have experienced it all. With my family (with auto immune-issues, a kid on the autism spectrum, genetic mutations, allergies to common dental materials, weak dental enamel, and fears galore), we needed a place to accommodate all our challenges. I truthfully had very little hope by the time I walked into Dr. Mahn's office. As the family "guinea pig", I went first, using their intro $49 offer. Fast forward to now (several months later)- Dr. Mahn has now successfully treated me, my 2 young sons, and will soon see my husband. I could not be more thrilled with Dr. Mahn's incredibly gentle, minimally-invasive, modern approach - my hopes were far exceeded at each and every visit. My kids LOVED it there (even the one with Autism and MAJOR fears, who is tricky to please), and both came out saying it went "AWESOME". Irene, Dr. Mahn's front office person, is a dream. Sweet, efficient, helpful, all of the staff there, like Dr. Mahn, is just so... NICE! I can't thank them enough! Beyond grateful! Give this dental practice a try, I promise you won't be disappointed. * I have to add 'ethical'.
