Let me start off saying I abhor dental work and procedures due to a childhood dentist who never waited for novacaine to take effect before doing work. I have recently had wisdom teeth pain going on 3 weeks. I finally called my current dentist who referred me to Dr Schneidr's office. Although the waiting area seemed a bit dated/old, the service rendered was beyond great! Dr Schneider didn't talk to me much, which seemed odd for being a new patient, but the work was done quickly (under anesthesia no less) and the outcome was with little pain. I had heard horror stories about wisdom teeth extraction, but Dr Schneider and his team did great work and will be returning if needed for any future tooth issues. read more

I hate that I have to write this review because the wisdom teeth surgery itself went extremely well. The doctor and clinical team did a great job, and I have no complaints about the actual care I received. Unfortunately, my experience with the billing and communication afterward was extremely disappointing especially with the office manager SharaLee. I was given a written estimate a month before surgery and paid what I was told was my expected patient responsibility. After insurance processed the claim, I was surprised with an additional balance of $1,000 around a month after my procedure. When I spoke with Sharalee, the office manager, over the phone, I felt the conversation was dismissive and condescending rather than focused on helping resolve the issue. I left the conversation feeling blamed instead of heard. I was frustrated by how my concerns were handled, instead of feeling like my questions were being heard, I felt blamed for not knowing exactly how my insurance maximum would be affected, despite relying on the estimate provided by the office... My 11yo needed a couple teeth pulled and our new dentist doesn't do that (or we would've gone to them) like our old dentist did. The oral surgeon was quick and efficient, but lacked politeness and tact. While I was pleased by the service, it was anything but good bedside manner. I'll spare you the snarky comments, disinterest to make us feel validated in our concerns or lack of any attempt to make us feel comfortable in the room. I wasn't even offered a chair. I was severely dreading getting my wisdom tooth pulled. I had pain for a month or so and put it off until the last minute. I scheduled my appointment, got X-rays and extraction in same day. After the X-ray I find out my wisdom tooth on the other side is getting a cavity so I decided to bite the bullet and get both removed. I had so much anxiety about this, literally the biggest baby you could imagine. Everyone in the office was very professional and that gave me comfort. The procedure went flawlessly and I couldn't have asked for a better quality of care. I am very thankful to Dr. Schneider and would highly recommend his office if you're in pain or considering the removal for preventative purposes. 10/10 read more

I had a molar tooth that needed to go. I went to see Dr Schneider who made it so easy on me. I was nervous because of past experiences. But it went so fast and so well that I even did not realize that my tooth was gone. No pain during and also no pain afterward. I could not be happier. Dr Schneider was kind and compassionate. Our 18 y.o son needed his wisdom removed. Making an appt was easy and our dental insurance was accepted. The pre-billing was thorough with full payment upon visit. The only surprise was to receive a "check of $45" for over payment:) The procedure was quick (about 30min) having 4 wisdoms removed. Please read all the info on post-surgery recovery they provide bcuz the assistant may forget to mention a few key items. No straw drinking and no gargling for a few days! My son only took OTC ibuprofen and recovered without any discomfort. He had one impacted molar that was probably deeper in removal so it bled more...a moistened tea bag for 15min quickly halted the bleeding. read more

Dr Schneider and his staff took great care of me. I am super apprehensive about anything medical, needles, blood... so I've put this off for a few years. I can't say what exactly made me decide to get this done, but something sparked my interest in finally getting those wisdom teeth out. My dental insurance is a glorified discount program which only seems to work at western dental and when you're at western dental, you don't really get to choose your dr or dentist. After a lengthy search on google and Yelp I compiled a list of about 10 or 12 oral surgeons in the phoenix area. My requirements were only positive reviews. A couple on my list came from medical review sites and some from Yelp also. Dr Schneider rated high everywhere I saw him so I definitely had him on my short list. I proceeded to call and inquire with each of the 12 offices I gathered. I asked for a quote to remove two impacted wisdom teeth and that I was a cash patient. Some offices estimated upwards of $2000, and some offices refused to give an estimate over the phone, I would have to come in for a $100+/- consultation for them to even give me a quote. Dr Schneider's office ended up giving me an over the phone estimate of about $1200 before a 25% cash customer discount as I had no insurance to use, which was a few hundred less than every other office I called for an estimate. Dr Schneider turned out to be the least expensive and also the highest rated surgeon in phoenix, and I'm talking east valley, west valley, north and south. I had received x-rays from my visit to western dental and Dr Schneider was able to use those; he didn't charge for the consultation visit or x-rays either. After receiving my x-rays, the office staff called back and gave me a firm price, which turned out to be a little less than the original quoted price also, yay! The day of my appointment, I arrived, reiterated my anxiety about needles, they gave me some laughing gas to calm me down, sprayed something on my arm before inserting the IV to sedate me for the procedure. I barely felt the needle and away I went. What was seemingly a few moments later I found myself waking up, gauze in my mouth and two wisdom teeth lighter than I used to be. After a weekend of recovering at home with smoothies and powerful pain medication. I'm good to get back to work and I no longer have those annoying and occasionally painful wisdom teeth. I know why I waited this long to have this done, it's my anxiety about medical, but if you're gonna bite the bullet, you had better give Dr Schneider a call, he's great at what he does and less expensive than everyone else I called to boot. I'd go back to him to remove my other two wisdom teeth, except I was only half wise, the other two decided not to grow in. Extremely skillful, gentle technique; excellent communication -so you know in simple understandable terms what to expect post and pre-op that will put your mind at ease. I've had 5 specialists consult me on fairly large infections in a couple teeth on my upper and lower jaw from trauma, including a consult at Az Perio. It was apparent that some places were highly motivated only monetarily, not even discussing my patient preferences, concerns or long term success. Many other places treated me as I was not capable of understanding my choices of care either. Understand that there are different routes you can take and different opinions. For example, one place wanted to just extract all of my infected teeth and place implants all on one day. However, If this method fails, it could end up going from 3-5 months healing time to over a year with worse infection or damage to the bone etc. I could read that to the other dental specialist, I was just a number crunched into his machine and not a person. Yes, some people hate dental procedures and find it very scary and one procedure is much more appealing than a couple or a few, but the risks are higher with that course of action which could result in much worse pain long term. Many places will also really pressure you to use anesthesia, that's fine as well for people petrified of a little oral pain, even possibly healthy pain because your body does secrete endorphins to alleviate it and I understand some people just have lower pain threshold, that is fine, my point is I was allowed a choice that was best for me. Dr. Schneider communicated perfectly what to expect if I did not go under anesthesia and he did not pressure me, he sufficiently communicated expectations and it was so easy and perfect. If you want to take the most prudent route, comfortable, and discerning care that is right for you long term, I highly recommend Dr. Brian Schneider. He is exceptional in skill and empathy. Because I have many issues with my teeth from an assault with a hockey stick when I was a child, I am at the dentist very often for routine cleanings and maintenance. I have to have at least one money tooth (front and center) extracted and despite that this should have been the worst dental procedure I've had, it was somehow the most pleasant. In absolute honesty, I've had so many more cleanings more painful than my extraction! I also really enjoyed my conversation with the Dr and assistant since I left my headphones at home on accident (just since l don't care for the grinding or popping noisy bits ;) read more

Horrible! The doc was not able to numb the right spot even after 3 doses of injections. He said that it was a " hot tooth". I was 8 months pregnant while having my tooth removed without any anesthesia because of his incompetence. I found Dr. Schneider through a lot of research. Reading reviews and other websites. My daughter needed to have her wisdom teeth checked and possibly removed. Because of all the positive reviews I read I took her to see him. The staff was wonderful from the phone call to the office visit. Dr. Schneider was very caring and listened well and then explained our options in detail. He made sure we had all the information we needed before we left his office so that we could make an informed decision. When we returned to have her wisdom teeth out the experience was just as good as the office visit. I later needed to have a tooth removed. The situation was dire and the first doctor that came to mind was Dr. Schneider. I was thrilled when my dentist recommended him as well. The office got me in right away and again Dr. Schneider was wonderful. I would highly recommend Dr. Schneider's office for wisdom teeth removal. As I don't have dental insurance, I was very nervous about how much the surgery would cost. My teeth were causing me quite a bit of discomfort, so I didn't want to put it off. The price quoted to me for the surgery was half of what I had been quoted at another place, which honestly made me a little bit nervous, but after doing some research I discovered that I had nothing to worry about. Dr. Schneider was very professional and patient, taking the time to answer all of my questions. His receptionist was very helpful and was able to fit me in as soon as possible. The surgery was done in under an hour without any complications. I was recommended to Dr. Schneider by neighbors and hygenists. He was very professional in trying to identify the source of the pain that my son was having. He used the panoramic x rays forwarded by our general dentist. Because the pain was gone, the Doctor was unable to determine the source at the present moment. So he suggested to wait till it starts again and then give him a call. Another dentist would have started pulling teeth. Dr. Schneider did not charge for this visit. I have a very hard time with needles and the staff were super understanding and used a cold spray so I wouldn't feel it too much! Extremely pleased with my experience at Dr. Schneider's office. Went in a year ago for a consult for wisdom teeth removal. At this time, I had no insurance and the price they gave me was the lowest I was ever given (and I had several consults to find the cheapest price). Luckily, with my new job, I had dental coverage and was able to get all wisdom teeth taken out for $100. But even without insurance, I would've definitely paid cash at this office since it was so reasonable. So now, a year after my consult, I got my surgery done with absolutely no issues.
