We were turned away by many other veterinarians because they wanted us to spend thousands of dollars for the first line treatment and would not even consider this other alternative. Our dog has been cured from Heartworms for over a year now. We are so thankful to Dr. Levine. He has also been very helpful for annual exams and treatment of his allergies.

He volunteered much of his time to my and other police canines in our area. I continued consulting him over the years on both behavioral and physical issues. Further, his knowledge of toxicology and pharmacology (PhD) put him way ahead of the so called experts in the treating of COVID during the outbreak. Having an appointment apparently means nothing. Was told "it's going to be a while". Meanwhile my…read moredog who has high anxiety and has his tongue hanging to the floor and eyes wide and scared. Was asked if a tech visit would be ok and I said yes. 15 minutes later nothing. After seeing my dog in distress I ask if the tech is going to come out and I'm told they are still waiting for the vet to approve that. Meanwhile people are outside waiting too. Ultimately I walked out because I couldn't watch my dog in distress anymore. Why bother making appointments if you just sit there waiting? Made an appointment at another practice and will not be going back.

Keep in mind this is a for profit hospital and their fees are priced accordingly. I could not afford for general vaccination shots to go to this practice instead I go to People For Animals at the Hillside, NJ location which is a non-profit. The same for spay/neuter. I called for a general price for a cat spay neuter and was informed I would have to make an appointment for the cat to be examined.

I was told that yes they do, and that my dog would just need to come in for a "consultation" to make sure it was possible. Was charged $40 deposit. No big deal. All this makes sense to me. I get to the Vet, they do an "Exam" instead of just a "Consult" and then tell me they don't even do Cryosurgery. Paid for "Exam" I was charged for a procedure I did not ask for. I was told they don't do the thing I was set up for in the first place. And even after talking with the Vet Manager and being told they do offer the surgery, they said that my dog didn't qualify. WHICH is all I was there to find out in the first place. A "Consultation". The Vet tech was great. The facilities are nice. I was not offered a refund on an Exam for which I was not scheduled. I would have been fine with letting go of the $40 deposit. I used their time. The business practices here are concerning. I would not recommend this Veterinary Hospital to others given the way this was handled.
