To begin, I encourage all of you who are griping about hair removal and laser skin treatments to give Dr. Speron and his office staff a break. The man is not a miracle worker and can only accomplish so much within a given time frame. Hes already completed over 1500 laser treatments since last year. Im sure most of you havent even tied your shoes 1500 times since last year! It sounds as though he was bombarded when his GroupOn advertising dropped. Bashing his business over scheduling conflicts really isn't fair to him or his staff. If they cannot accomodate you to your liking, it shouldnt mean that you voice your opinion on sites like this trying to ruin his lifes work. The man has a family to take care of. Give him a break. Schedule in advance and always confirm your appointments. It's really that simple. Bashing him because his office is older and his furtniture doesnt match just shows you have nothing better to do and are focused on the wrong outcome. This is not Beverly Hills people. If you want red carpet treatment and an inflated price, get on an airplane and take a trip west. Maybe you will find a clean office and matching furniture to your liking. Dont forget to bring an extra 40K as their office luxury will be reflected in your cost of surgery. Lets move on and talk about my fantastic experience with Dr. Speron. To begin, I have a portwine red birthmark that covers the entire left side of my cheek and down into the chin and lip area of my face. 9 rounds of laser treatment in my youth lightened my birthmark immensly but left an overgrowth(hemangeoma) in the lower left side of my lip. It literally looked like I got popped in the lip in a bar fight for the last 10 years of my life! I saw Dr. Speron to consult with him about "debulking" my swollen lip. He was straight up honest with me and explained that he could debulk the lip through a reconstructive surgery but to understand that it would never fully be 100% symmetrical. The procedure was quick and relatively painless. I was awake for the procedure and I didnt even flinch considering he used a cauterizing laser to open my lip and cut out the overgrowth of tissue that was inflamed. The man has a surgeons touch and is a true professional. he talked me through the entire surgery. Over the coming weeks, my lip has settled down, the stitches were removed and its almost symmetrical to the other side! I have only been out of surgery for 7 weeks. Dr. Speron tells me that I will not see the full results until about 6-12 months out of surgery! I am more than pleased with the results now, I cant imagine how I will feel 6 months from now! For those of you who struggle with self esteem/appearance issues, I encourage you to come and shake my hand. Take a look at my face and the battle I fight everyday regarding the way that I look and you might find that your situation carries no relevance at all. I cannot tell you how appreciative I am of Dr. Speron and how professional his team has been while accomodating my needs. Sure his staff looks young, but all of us have to start out somewhere in our chosen career fields. Who cares what they look like. Are there looks going to fix your issue? I thought all of them were very friendly, ver professional, and very pleasing on the eyes! Especially Evelyn! Shes awesome and helped me so much with all the paperwork for my employer! Restored confidence and a new outlook on life are hard to come by when you are not satisfied with your appearance on a daily basis. I thank Dr. Speron and his staff for their professionalism and for changing my life through this surgery. Believe me when I tell you, I visited 5 reconstructive plastic surgeons before choosing Dr. Speron and I come from a family that is no stranger to surgeries. I had my elbow and my ankle reconstructed from playing sports and my sister had 7 knee surgeries while playing basketball throughout high school and college. I would not have chose this Dr. if I didnt believe in him. We each have our own opinions and I respect that. If you want an honest consultation from a respectable, hard working staff, I encourage you to visit his office. If you have an open mind, you will not be disappointed. THANKS Dr. Speron. HORRIBLE. I bought a groupon for laser treatments and had my bikini area done, one year later, there is NO EVIDENCE that anything was done and it hurt really bad. However, before I finished the first groupon, I stupidly bought another one to do my lower legs. BIG MISTAKE! I can never ever get an appointment for this place!! NEVER! Dr. Speron needs to hire more technicians, open an additonal office and/or stop issuing Groupons it can not fulfill. They called me to cancel an appointment the night before I was supposed to go in and it took me over a month to get that appointment! So I was told it would take another 6 weeks until they could get me in to laser my legs after they canceled on me. Well that puts me halfway through summer! Please save your money and time - Dr. Speron's office should be avoided at all costs. There are too many other laser places to go to that are happy to take your money and provide services as promised. Update: DO NOT GO HERE. I scheduled an appt in May to go in June. They are SO understaffed you can expect a month or more wait to get in. So my June appointment was cancelled the night before the appointment with no reschedule date. After I posted on Yelp about this incident - I was contacted and the staff got me in for July 7th. Well GUESS WHAT? July 6th I got a call CANCELLING MY RESCHEDULED APPT! I thought they were joking, but sadly, they were not. Here it is 7/22/13 and no one has bothered to call and reschedule the appointment they have cancelled on me twice. Summer is going to be ending soon, and my legs have not seen any laser yet. :( I am very upset with this office - plus, I have to arrange a babysitter to watch my kid for these appointments. Which means I have to call other people and tell them I no longer need their help. Horribly run business. read more

I had my first visit at Dr. Speron's office yesterday, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish! The front desk staff was so welcoming, the woman who helped me was kind and took the time to explain all the forms. Check-in was a breeze. Before I left, the office manager Autumn introduced herself and greeted me, she was just as friendly and professional. My appointment was with Debbie, the esthetician, and she was beyond amazing! So energetic, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. She answered all of my questions, gave me helpful tips on how to manage my skin better, and recommended a moisturizer for my face. She made me feel completely comfortable throughout the entire appointment. I had a facial and an oxygen & biotin scalp treatment. Both were fantastic! The scalp treatment was super relaxing and felt incredible. The facial left my skin feeling refreshed, soft, smooth, and glowing, I actually received several compliments that same day! I ended up purchasing the moisturizer Debbie recommended and tried it today. Even with just one use, I could see a noticeable difference in my skin. I have very dry, sensitive skin, and this cream moisturized beautifully without any irritation. I'm so happy I found this place! I will definitely be going back. Highly, highly recommend! read more

I just completed my first set of laser and microderm facial treatments at Dr. Speron's office, and I am VERY excited about the results. I am in my late 30s and I would guess 10 years have been taken right off my face. This will be my first summer I'm not baking in the sun and my face will thank me for it! I had my consult with Dr. Speron in early January 2012, and he gave me a wide spectrum of options for improving my skin - it was a very informative talk and I was confident the laser treatments I purchased would to the trick. I wasn't wrong. Just 4 short months later, I have to admit - I don't think my face has ever looked or felt this good. Each session was a step in the right direction, and each session provided me the time to ask questions if I had them. His staff was so helpful. The office has CRAZY long hours and is located in Park Ridge - no hassles with driving to the city AND you can have treatments done on a Sunday. Bonus! I will continue to be a customer to this office. Don't let the the other reviews on this site turn you away - decide for yourself. I was recently able to take advantage of one of Dr. Speron's online deals for a photo facial and could not have been more pleased with the results...scheduling an appointment was never an issue. I have been visiting Dr. Speron for years and have never had an appointment rescheduled. Dr. Speron is a very caring individual who always puts his patients first. His professionalism, dedication and personality are that of a Dr. you would trust your whole family with. I am upset by the negative reviews as a long time client who has had multiple treatments of various procedures. I don't mean to make this review a rebuttal but its quite obvious that only the habitual deal finders are unaware of the time and effort that goes into an appointment. I would rather have an appointment run long or be rescheduled because the nurse wanted to make sure that the service I received exceeded my expectations. If you find yourself reading this review please know it is a genuine review coming from a long time client and if you don't believe me...just visit the waiting room and read through the hundreds of pages of thank you letters from people just like me. read more

I was looking through Groupon for laser hair removal back in Sept. 2011 and I found a good deal for the Park Ridge Medical Spa. The deal was for 8 sessions for laser hair removal. I have suffered from the embarrassment of having dark facial hair that is easily noticeable on lighter skin. I have always had issues with having hair on my upper lip, chin, under chin, cheeks and side burns. Which has made me wear my hair down all the time in order to cover my facial hair. I have done 7 sessions already and since the 2nd session I could notice thinning and diminishing of my facial hair. I was told since the first walk in, by the nice technician, that approximately 80% of the hair would thin out and or disappear. Which for me has been true; hair from my face and chin has pretty much disappeared and my upper lip and under chin has thinned out significantly. Lisa and Katie have been doing my laser hair removal and they have been very nice and helpful. I recently finished up my groupon package at Park Ridge Medical Spa this week. My esthetician Lisa asked if I would write a yelp review for the company. I have never really used Yelp but here we go. I bought a 5 session Laser Vein Removal groupon last year in hopes that my unsightly veins would be removed in time for the summer. I remember last year coming in filling out paper work on laptops and receiving my first treatment by a different esthetician. My second treatment was done by Lisa and ever since I have gone to her. She made me feel comfortable despite the pain of the treatment. I always received a reminder call about my appointment the day before, which is great due to my busy schedule. My last treatment was suppose to be a month ago but we added one more before I left for vacation for spring break. My veins are extremely better, some remain but I will return after the summer to get a few more "touched up." I hope this is helpful to anyone who reads it. It seems like there are mixed reviews but I have had a very pleasant experience here and will certainly go back. read more

Will make this short since I hate writing reviews, but seems that those that have rated poorly are upset because they are groupon people that where not happy of what there groupon entitled them too and wanted more. Anyway, my child got into an accident on the playground and ripped her lower lip through. By chance Dr. Speron was there and stated he was a plastic surgeon and would be able to suture her up and make the healing process go smoothly. We went to his office (which was on a Sunday) and he placed the stitches on the inside of the lip, which he stated would minimize scaring. Two years latter, I can not even see where it was---my daughter was 6 when it happened. My family has been going ever since and have NO complaints of the doctor. Just a side note, as I was reading these reviews I noticed one that was ripping on this office while the same time telling people to go to another office--I found that a little weird--anyway, I guess this review turned out longer then I thought....good luck. read more

I recently bought an amazing groupon coupon from this establishment. I did read some of these yelp reviews after I bought the coupon but I wanted to utilize the eight treatments eventhough there is a lot of bad reviews. I called over three weeks ago to get an appointment and I was fit in later that week. Upon arrival I was greeted by several young ladies who had me fill out paperwork. (Which was no picnic). After my paperwork was completed, my Aesthetician brought me in the back to explain how the treatment would go and what I should expect. I was nervous but reassured by her that it would be easy. We then took a picture and went into the laser room. I was in and out in no time and after 14 days like the aesthetician said I can already see a difference. I can not wait to see the final result after 8 treatments and I look forward to it.I have not had any problems with this estanlishment and truly believe that yelp should be a place of discussion not complaints. read more

I am getting my underarms and bikini done here. I have very coarse hairs and get in-growns often. It is such a hassle to shave everyday just for it to grow back before the day is through. I came across this place last year through groupon. I could not wait to start! Being it be my first time doing anything like this, I was extremely nervous. My technician was very professional, comforting and thorough. I was afraid that it was going to be painful but it wasn't that bad! Definitely worth the results. I saw the technician 2 or 3 other times and had other technicians do the rest of my treatments. Even though I did not have the same technician each time, I was always greeted with a welcoming face and excellent customer service. They couldn't have made these treatments go by any smoother. Especially with my busy schedule, they always were so understanding and accomodating. Now, my hairs are pretty much non-exsistant. Just in time for for summer! read more

From the moment I walked into the office the girls at the front desk were incredibly welcoming. Once I was in the consultation room, I met with Dr. Speron and immediately felt comfortable. I had wanted a breast augmentation for a while now but never met a surgeon I felt completely comfortable with. During our consultation I never once felt he was pressuring me to do more things that I didn't need, he valued what my goals and concerns were and I did not feel like I was being rushed. Dr. Speron really takes his patients into consideration and values everything they express to him. Not to mention, the clinic and front staff have been absolutely amazing. The girls in this office are truly the nicest people. I am about 3 weeks out from my surgery date and couldn't be happier with my results. I was looking to do laser hair removal for my legs and arms. My friend had gone to the Park Ridge Medical Spa a while ago and found the treatments for the laser hair removal were working pretty well. I went ahead and made an appointment. The staff at the front desk were alright. They need to be better prepared for appointments and have paperwork ready to go. When I was able to finally go in for my appointment, the young girl who did my treatments was very sweet. She walked me through the procedures and kept me calm, as I was very nervous about the laser burning me. After a couple treatments, I am excited to say, that I have not seen any hair growing back on my arms and legs. I am thinking about returning for a future visit for the dark spots on my face. I only worked with the young girl Grace for my laser hair removal. I will be going back to see her since I'm completely satisfied with my previous results. read more

If you're considering lip filler, I cannot recommend Dr. Sam Speron enough! I had 1 cc of lip filler done, and I am absolutely obsessed with my results. I recently went to Sam Speron Clinic to have a vein removal laser treatment . I bought a groupon deal. I always heard of this procedure by I it was not very affordable. With the groupon it was much better deal. Of course the groupon deal was only for 3 treatments and it requries at least 5-6 to get rid of small veins that look really ugly on my legs and really bother me especially when I have to put on my swimsuit. The initial paperwork takes about 30 min, but the staff is very accomodating and pleasant to deal with. My treatment was done by Grace. I can not say enough about her great manners and professional attitude. She puts you at ease and goes out of her way to accomodate you. I wish there were more service professionals like Grace. I definitely recommend this place especially if you get a hold of some great deals. read more

Dr. Speron and staff are amazing! Exceptional quality of care. Flexible office hours and easy to schedule appointments. I had a facelift, neck lift and lip lift, and a revision neck lift for a little extra additional skin removal. I'm very happy with my results. I truly believe having surgery with oral sedation and local anesthesia gave me an easier recovery as compared to general anesthesia. My surgeries were safely done in office. My incisions and scars have healed very well and are barely noticeable. Dr. Speron has a great bedside manner and he is very easy to talk to about your goals. His office staff are also very personable and his medical staff provide very good care. My experience has been very positive and I feel that I look really great, like myself and years younger! I have been having various treatments for the past year and am very impressed by the effectiveness of the services this spa provides. The facility is very clean and the staff is very friendly and professional. The estheticians are extremely knowledgeable and are available for consultations. PRMS will frequently offer very affordable Groupons for different services. I have done the hair laser removal and having had horrific experiences with it at other facilities in the past (i.e., burns, overpriced treatments with terrible results, etc.), I was a bit nervous to have it done at PRMS. I have had two surgeries by Dr Speron over the last 12 years and it always amazes me to read other reviews talking about a laser treatment, which is clearly on the medical spa side. I have also had many laser treatments at their office, which has several new lasers and 16 rooms!! They have 5 full time personnel performing laser alone. Every time I go there, it is completely packed and yet I never have to wait. The office manager once told me that they did a groupon and have treated at least 3,000 new patients in the first 8 months of 2011. In terms of the doctor, he is first class. He is a great guy, very down-to-earth and a wonderful human being. I would recommend him highly to anyone wanting to get any type of cosmetic surgery or even things most people don't think about like moles and skin stuff. read more

I had bought a Groupon for 6 laser hair removal for Park Ridge. I had been going to them for about 6-7 months and I saw minimal result. I expressed my concern and they decided to have me come back for 2 more sessions. When I arrived at the session, It was discussed because I had seen minimal results that maybe the laser they use is not capable with my skin. (I am fare skinned, Blonde hair, Blue eyes) They offered to refund me the entire amount that I paid for the treatments. $350.00. I could not believe they would be willing to do this and I was very grateful for this. This office is very understanding and I would go back to them again. I called Groupon and they refunded me the money, no questions asked. I would have given them 5 stars, but since the laser did not work, I could not. read more

I was looking for laser treatments for my spider veins and found Dr. Sperons' office on-line. I just want to say that I had a very positive experience! I went for 6 treatments and noticed right away that my veins looked lighter and some even disappeared. The Aesthetician, her name was Grace, was wonderful! She explained the procedure so I knew just what to expect and she was very good because even though the temperature went up each visit the pain did not! She was so nice and very professional! The receptionist were helpful as well when I had to reschedule a couple of my appointments. I went to my appointments on the weekends and never had to wait more than 5 to 10 minutes.
