When we got there the facility was very nice and clean I was checked in promptly by Annie and called in a few minutes early by Daleigh who completed my medical history. I had milia removed and paid the full balance I was told was due before leaving the office. Three weeks later, I was surprised to receive an email claiming I owed an additional $57.00. It feels very misleading that I was not informed upfront that there could be extra charges after I had already paid in full. Transparent billing should be standard practice. As someone who takes my credit seriously, I now feel pressured to pay this unexpected balance just to avoid any potential damage to my credit score. read more

This place is super uber modern and clean. You can't miss this building, as there is a giant sign along the side of the building that says "Derick Dermatology" right off I-90, across the street from Mariano's. There's plenty of seating at the lobby, and a wall-mounted TV showing HGTV, the couple of times I went there. The staff where you checkin are nice and friendly. Every thing, like I said, is super modern, so the checkin process consisted of verifying all your information/consent via iPad. When you're called into the examining room section, there's several doors on each side of a long corridor. If there's a time where a setting reminded me of the movie Alien, it was this. Everything was super-white, sterile, and well-lit. Inside the examining room, you'll have a physician assistant who goes over information, why you're there, etc. and inputs notes into a computer. Once that's done, its time for my favorite part.... to undress! After a brief few minutes, the doctor comes in, exams takes the necessary pictures, and you're done. Depending on the diagnosis, they have an in-house medicine dispensary where you can get your prescription(s) filled. If they don't have it there, they'll send your prescription to wherever your preferred pharmacy is. Overall, a pleasant experience read more

Make sure BEFORE your appointment that they actually do the type of work you need. I called and told them I had spots on my eyelids I needed removed. They made a consultation appointment for me more than a month out. Appointment was this morning. PA looked at my eyes for about thirty seconds and said I would have to go to a plastic surgeon because they don't do procedures on the eyelids. So why did you book my appointment if you don't do what I need? I paid $123 for a piece of paper with the contact information for a few area plastic surgeons I could have gotten that on Google for free. Now I have to wait for a new consultation appointment in December (first available) with the plastic surgeon which will be another consultation. Which means this won't be done in time for Christmas as I hoped. Very angry about this. read more

During the pandemic my husband and I saw an ad on TV for Derick Derm with a new location close to us. We asked if they were taking new patients and they were. Very helpful on the phone, appointments were on time- taking proper precautions. Everyone was fabulous. The office was beyond clean and they wiped everything immediately. Glad we found them when we did. Our 6yo daughter also did a Virtual Teledoc with their practice and they were wonderful with kids and virtual appointments. If you need something- go to these guys! I've been driving various expressways and always notice a tall building with Derick Dermatology on the top as if it were a bank or insurance building downtown. My first thought was WOW they must be really good at solving problems of the skin. Maybe a little over exaggeration but that's okay. In August, I had a severe acne outbreak. So who did I call? Derick Dermatology that's who! The cherry on top is they are located 3 mins from my house. I was impressed and pleased with their modern, sleek, and clean environment. Each person I came in contact with from the check-in desk girls, assistant to the doctor, and my doctor herself were SUPER friendly and professional. The service of an organization is just as important as the value being offered. The solutions given to me were also effective. Today I had a follow-up appointment and my face has improved and I am sticking with my regimen. read more

I never had or saw my own dermatologist and I suddenly got red bumps... I called and there was a long wait. I requested a call back. The first day available was the next week but ok. So today I went. Yes I wore a mask... great people and great office. Special parking spots just for Derick. They electronically send prescriptions... Wait time was fabulous! Got in early which is so unusual but that was the highlight. Had a concern about a specific area under my nose and it was brushed off. Told it should be "fine". I also informed them that past dermatologists injected the area and it cleared up within a day. Now a few days later and it's turned in to a huge cyst the size of a pea! Bright red and hard. I will be cancelling my next appointment unless this is rectified. read more

I had an appointment at 6:30. I was told to come in at 6:20 and I did. We didn't get into a room until 6:50. Alexia, the medical assistant asked why I was in. Once I gave her my reasons, she quickly cut me off and said that they won't be able to go through everything since I was only marked down for 1 of the reasons I stopped in for because they "don't have time". Which was incorrect because when I made the appointment I told the person every reason why I was coming in. It shouldn't be my problem that whoever scheduled my appointment didn't include the right information. I wasn't seen by Jennifer H. (I'll be nice and not use her full name) until 7:05. When she came in she was in a hurry and wanted to get the appointment over with. She brushed off all of my concerns. She gave me the same answers for everything I asked which didn't make sense to me so I kept asking more questions since I was concerned and all she did was repeat the same answers but slower, making my husband and I seem like we're dumb. The response to one of the questions I asked was "those are ****** you can google it". I get it, it's the end of the day and everyone wants to leave and since that was the case, maybe she's in the wrong line of work. Perhaps she should only work half days. She didn't ask if we had any more questions at the end of the appointment. She just wanted to get us out. When Alexia came back I asked if it's better to schedule earlier in the day since I was rushed and that it was very obvious. She agreed and said yea it's better to come in earlier if you're having multiple issues. I felt extremely uncomfortable and unwelcomed. I was better off not making the appointment to begin with than to have gone and left feeling this way. Alexia asked if I wanted to schedule my next appointment after she acknowledged I was rushed. The audacity. This was my first time at Derick Dermatology and it will most definitely be my last. read more

They are not much dedicated. I got hitching due to food allergy or insect bite, I really don't know the cause. When I call for initial appointment the sooner I got for physician assistant is week after and for MD it's after 15 days from the day I called. Not sure till then do I need suffer with the hitching. Since my hitching was heavy and even I got the skin thickening in many places. So I booked for physician visit. On the day of the appointment they called and say that physician assistant has an urgent emergency and we would help you to reschedule the appointment when I asked how sooner they say next appointment is after a month only and I asked for MD and they say it's after two months. Do I need to be with hitching till the date. Absolutely ridiculous. They never treat patients and provide much priority. read more

The front desk ladies are super nasty and always have attitude. They are very confrontational. Not the type of service I would expect at a Park Ridge location. They told my husband that he is 10 minutes late and so they would make an exception for him but it was said in a very condescending way and when he told them that he had been there for 5 minutes already for the check in they cut him off and the lady next to the one checking him said loudly "but you're late. Your appointment was at 3:40". My husband said no - you told me 3:45 and she raised her voice at him and said no it was at 3:40, ok?! I would suggest that a huge establishment such as this one, not treat their clients that way. This is a really terrible customer experience from the very beginning of this journey. If that's the policy- they could have said it in a nicer way - an example would be: sir, just wanted to inform you that you are 10 minutes late and we will see you today but for a future reference we just want to let you know that next time we might not be able to see you.
