They are not professional, very rushed when making appts on the phone. In person, they are worse. Not welcoming, if you have a question they get annoyed like you're wasting their time. This is an efficiently run doctor's office, with friendly, competent staff. Dr. Dy is a proactive dermatologist, which is a blessing, after my husband's experience with a different doctor, who completely ignored a large spot on his head for a year. Dr. Dy has asked him to come back every two weeks until all the spots on his head have been removed. She biopsied 5 different areas, 3 of which were cancerous. Absolutely The Best I have been going to Dy Dermatology for years. I have gotten excellent results with them. My hair had gotten so thin you could see through to my scalp. Working with Dr. Dy, I now have hair that is so much thicker... no scalp showing through! I also have eczema on my feet. I have had noticeable results with treatments such as stem cell, HairLase, TED, DNA testing which resulted in changes in ingestible prescriptions and change of topical treatments, and Laser Cap . If I didn't get a second opinion on a mole, I literally would not be around to write this review. My mole progressed to melanoma that went even further unfortunately. The 2nd opinion dermatologist looked at it right away and knew it was "off". I have since had 2 surgeries and everything is great now, but NO thanks to Dr. Lady Dy. When I called their office to talk about my situation, they of course had an argument to cover their behind. It's me against them. Doctor Dy is the best dermatologist ever. Hands down. I used to go to this other dermatologist down in Wicker Park and they ruined my face. I walked in, in need of a solution for my acne and I walked out with more acne I've had before AND eczema on my face. They activated the eczema on my face and it spread from my cheeks to my eye lids (which was the worst part). I was recommended by a Co-worker to Dr. Dy and it was the best decision I have ever made. I told her I paid out of pocket because I didn't have an insurance that paid for this so she did the best she can to give me discounts, samples and so much advice for my acne and eczema care. I had been a patient of Dr. Dy's since 2015 for my hair loss/thinning that begun when I was 19. Unfortunately, I do not have the pleasure of receiving dermatology services from Dr. Dy any longer as I have moved out of state, but I highly recommend consulting her for all hair loss needs. Not all treatments have been effective for my condition (androgenic alopecia), but Dr. Dy is always up to date with new best practices and treatments, making knowledgeable and informed recommendations and modifications. My hair growth/loss fluctuates but I have seen immense improvements at times. It doesn't help that stress and getting older have been factors in my hair loss/growth journey, but Dr. Dy encourages me to be consistent with each of my treatments and prescriptions as that is when I see the best results. Dr Dy and her team have always treated me with respect and courtesy, explained what procedures I am to receive, the side effects and precautions of, either treatmentt or medication and I always receive a call back the following day to check on my well being. But at my first visit I expected a full exam, and not just a Doctor staring at me waiting for me to talk. Like ask me questions, check out my skin. Explain to me the causes of irregularities; ask me if there have been any changes. Examine my skin, ask me more questions. Don't wait for me to tell you how to do your job and point to things. I honestly expected way better, not just a lot of "yeahhh nod nod nod". I don't know. I doubt I'll be returning. I legit had fees thrown at me and nothing was even done on the first appointment. What ever I asked or said, it was like "yeah your insurance this, your insurance that". And it's been a week as well and no one has contact me regarding a referral for a biopsy. I went in because I'm suffering from clogged pores and hormonal acne. While the doctor was very nice I did feel a bit rushed. She gave me a list of products to use, of course all to buy in her office. There was no pressure to buy all or any of them. 3 products was about $140. Not terrible. But I wanted to return one after a week cause I wasn't a fan of the smell and how it made my skin feel. I went in and was told that I couldn't return and that it says that on the receipt. I said "the receipt I get after purchase? Why wasn't I told that before I bought it?" She just threw her hands up and was beyond rude to me. Didn't offer to talk to the doctor or office manager. I was diagnosed with atopic dermatitis (AD) when I was about six years, and as I aged, I was told eventually, I would grow out of it. Well, unfortunately for me, my AD never went away until I met with Dr. Dy. I am amazed that my arms, legs, torso, and back and now clear without any evidence of having AD. Living with AD can indeed have negative social impacts, and it's something that I will need to monitor continuously, but I wouldn't have gotten to a state of my "normal baseline" until I worked with Dr. Dy. Initially, you assume this is a nice place and good environment. Until, you have any complications.. the entire point of cyst removal is that they don't occur in the same exact spot you paid for the removal. After the removal of a cyst, there was a white bubble that formed beside the end of her stitch. I called and asked to come in so the doctor can view it and see if anything went wrong. I was told I would be charged for that visit and that "yeah, it can happen, the doctor is viewing it so we can't waive the fee for the visit". That's the problem, wouldn't this doctors job be essentially useless if "yeah, it can happen" is the solution to something going wrong where I just received stitches? What's the point of paying for this then? Pointless. Bad attitude. Bad customer service. Go somewhere else if you actually want to be cared for. Trust me. read more

I went in with a concern and expressed that I had showed it to another physician and they recommended I get a opinion from a dermatologist. I took a day off of work to go to my dermatology appointment. I never got a confirmation call, so I called to make sure they had my appointment, and sure enough, they didn't. I kept my appointment card so I had proof. They were able to squeeze me in, but then Josie called me back to notify me that I needed another referral. No one told me this. I had a referral for my original appointment, but not for my follow up as I typically don't need additional referrals for follow ups. Josie was abhorrently rude on the phone. She was not apologetic at all for THEIR mistake, first not scheduling my appointment but giving me an appointment card and then not giving me instructions for follow up. She said "well it's you're responsibility to figure it out". Really? I'm in healthcare and when my patient needs a follow up appointment, I tell them everything they need to do.
