The service from Cristen was great. Great ambiance. I got the breaded tenderloin and my fiancé got the country fried chicken. The chicken was disappointing. A bit dry and flavorless. The tenderloin had a great crunch, was a good size, and was a real loin, not mechanically separated. So that was nice. It could've used seasoning, though. Good crispy battered onion rings. The cheese curds were very good and the sauce was sweet and tangy. It was unexpected, but definitely worked well with the curds. It's definitely no Ruthie's, but if you're at the casino/hotel and don't feel up to a fancy dinner, Draft Day will do just fine. read more

Have eaten here several times, we had never tried breakfast before. Overall it was pretty good. The biscuit and gravy and the French toast was very good. The pancake is huge, I mean huge, but unfortunately it lacked any flavor or taste. It had none. Add a little vanilla, or something, IDK. The hash browns were very greasy, soggy. I'd probably try the homestyle potatoes next time. The omelets need a little work. Somewhat small, middle of it just laid open, huge hunks of ham....way too big for an omelet. The omelets just need a little work, that's all. My wife said the iced tea didn't taste good, but it never seems to be good here for her. I noticed a bit of an off taste to the white milk. Not saying the milk was bad or anything like that, just an odd taste. Thinking it may have had something to do with the glass or something? Not sure. Anyway, not bad. They must be under new management because the last 3X I have been here, the wait and food has been so much better. We usually get the beef stroganoff, ribeye steak (which has been cooked perfectly each time), or half fried chicken. I hope the staff continues to move in this direction. read more

Tried to watch the Women's Hawkeye bball game & have dinner with a friend. Arrived well before closing time. Seated promptly. Waited for a server to take our drink order. We were ready to order everything at that point, but weren't given the option. 20-25 min for food to arrive. I had 4 bites left & our waitress went around turning off the TV's. Including ours that we were actively watching. I contained my anger and said, "that was rude!" To which she replied, "we are closed!" Wow. I then informed her I wasn't even done eating. My friend even said, can we finish our food? Nope. Our waitress opted to escalate the moment and began yelling at us -WE ARE CLOSED!!! "You're yelling at me?!?" I then said I wanted my tip back. She walked away & yelled back to me, "TAKE IT!" Residual bill was $16. I tipped $10. I put down the rest of my burger that was in hand, informed her she needed customer service training & left. Dan who was working the bar in the restaurant was great! He was friendly, and served us with a smile we could see in his eyes even though he was wearing the required mask over his mouth and nose. There was another customer there who was creating a major problem, and Dan handled it with class... I would not have had such grace under the kind of pressure this other gentleman was creating. The flatbread I had was good. Quite good. The tall IPAs that the waitress continuously refilled were a repeated joy. She was as well. This is a decent, hotel lobby sports bar/restaurant if you're ever traveling with work and need a late night cool down/fuel up. We showed up super late, and they accommodated us and were outright hospitable - I think they even served us a little past their usual bartime. We have been coming here for years. I don't know what happened but the service is horrible. We think that the manager who was always on top of things was not here. We waiting 40 minutes for our drinks. All we heard was that we are short staffed. If you are short staffed don't have as many tables. read more

This is my second time eating here and I have found that the food is good for bar style food. Unfortunately the service is really not good. It took 20 minutes to get served water. Got served our food and the waiter never came back and checked on us and it wasn't because the restaurant was slammed with people. Fix the service and this is a 4 star review. read more

Today wE went to draft day for a drink and app. I ordered a top shelf margarita. It was sooo sour. So I took to bartender and asked she make again. I watched her make it. Zero triple sec- and she didn't know what Cointreau was. Tried second marg- still all sour. Told waitress- I give up. About 5 min later the manager brought me another margarita and said "try this". He totally nailed it. So good. Smooth and not sour. That is the best customer service ever!! Food was good bar food. I admit I am a margarita snob- but the manager does a great one!! Thank you. Ordered the steak salad without the blue cheese as it is really good but the blue cheese can be overpowering and requested for avocado as a substitute instead. Very disappointing as the presentation was blah and really ... you ran out of fresh tomatoes and instead replaced them with a mushy pickled tomatoes ... very disgusting! To make it even worst, there are trails of blue cheese on the bottom as if they messed up the order and trying to cover up their mistakes by piling up more greens. Spoiler alert, don't ask to customize your order as they can't go off the script and will mess it up big time! Definitely would not order this again. read more
