For the price, this restaurant did not meet my expectations. The hostess initially made us feel guilty for not making a reservation and the restaurant was empty. Our server seemed preoccupied with other diners' conversations. I requested hot sauce, but she forgot about it until I was nearly finished with my steak. To make matters worse, she also forgot to refill my water. As for the food, I ordered my steak rare, but it was half medium rare and half medium. My lobster bisque was watery. My friends ordered the meat loaf and chicken, and they said it was decent. Overall, considering the price, the food, and the service, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. read more

After a long day of travel I wanted to just go into the nearest restaurant and eat whatever they got, thankfully I have been here before and I know the food is delicious! This is a little more upscale for my taste, but it is a wonderful spot! Service was on point! As expected for a place like this, everyone was wonderful! Calamari - 10 out of 10 Mushroom Bisque (Soup of the day) 12 out of 10 Chicken Piccata - 9 out of 10 - I felt like the noodles were just slightly overcooked and it became alittle mushy. EXCELLENT- this is one of the more pleasant dining experiences I have had in years, in large part due to Server Gracie. Had calamari, cocktail shrimp, french onion soup, rack of lamb and am getting ready to have raspberry-blueberry cake. Went here last night for dinner. It's on the river with some awesome views. There were 4 of us. We started with portobello fries, they were very good & a creamy garlic dipping sauce. They have a nice selection of wines & our server Sonja was very helpful in getting answers for us on the wines. We all had steak & everyone enjoyed what they had. The steaks are already well seasoned, so if you don't care for much salt, tell them ahead of time. They have sides which can be shared with 2-4 people family style. You do get a salad with an entree but every thing else is ala carte. Would definitely go back. read more

After more than 24hr travel, this place was worth the stop as it's right outside the hotel! Food was delicious, only problem was they cooked our steak perfectly but on a different cut we didn't order. We decided to book a reservation here for a quiet dinner before the chaos of our wedding in 2 days. It was the perfect setting. Quiet, right on the water, modern and clean. We got the rack of lamb, the halibut and the Yukon garlic potatoes. The rack of lamb was cooked to perfection! We were very pleasantly surprised by the amount of rack they provided as well. A lot of restaurants skimp on the lamb portion and just give you 4 chops and always leave you hungry because you only get a few bites per chop but Bass Street knocked it out of the park. 8 chops on the plate and cooked so well and juicy! The halibut was very good as well. Tender and flakey like it should be. The only thing lacking was a little more seasoning on it and the cauliflower puree below it. But after a dash of salt and pepper it was up to par! Yukon garlic potatoes were very good as well. My fiancé did get a crème brûlée dessert after dinner. I'm not a fan of that type of dessert so I did not have it but he said it was one of the better ones he's had in a long time. If I were to make a suggestion on the dessert side add an option of dessert with chocolate of some sort. It's not dessert without chocolate ;) . However, We will be back next time we're in town! Oh! Waitress, Katie, was VERY good! Lobster was under cooked, & prime rib was tough & fatty. Husband took home to try & save on grill next day. Hostess did not REmotely live up to hospitality sign outside telling us she had a lot of reservations & him hawed finding us a table as we were a walk-in. Restaurant was half empty when we left (a Sat nt) @ approx 6 pm. Hostess was VERY unfriendly, no eye contact & did not even know answer to question we asked about the Chop House Thought this was a high end restaurant, but we left totally disappointed. Third time I've eaten here. 2nd time for dry aged NY strip with fromage. 5/6 of us hog Steak. 10/10 without exaggeration. The Mac n cheese was the best I've ever had. Potatoes and green beans were very flavorful. The appetizers (calamari and crab cakes) were good but not quite up to the level of the entrees and sides. Really liked the food. Went two nights in a row. 10 oz filet med rare perfect. Mac and cheese and the garlic mashed are my favorite sides appetizers were good but nothing special. However the value in the appetizers was nice. 6 big shrimp in shrimp cocktail and buratta was same way. Just didn't stand out. Delmonico bone in good cook but not the best cut of meat. Wine was good. Prisoner. So, the rating would be 4 BUT, no caymus, no martini Napa valley, no Faust that were listed on menu. No dry aged beef. Service was friendly but extremely slow. Drinks took 30 minutes. Entrees took a very long time. We had a great time. Food was good, but this place needs to sort out some things. I'll come back again because it was a change and surprise from past years. read more

HI! So for the restaurant to still be "unclaimed" on Yelp should tell you something..... means the management is not caring enough to monitor these reviews. My wife and I picked this place since it is apparently the MOST UPSCALE place in Rock Island. We drove from Kansas City and was taking a break in this city on our way to Wisconsin. Bally's casino does not have any steak houses. So... we arrived at freaking 4:30 with maybe 10 people in the place. Took 10 min for the one waitress to come take our drink and appetizer order. Then we saw that the drinks we ordered WAITED at the end of the bar till the appetizer was ready which let the drinks get watered down from the ice. A separate server brought those to the table. Then MORE time went by for our server to take our order for 2 filets (cooked medium). My wife took her watered down gin & tonic to the bartender for a remake. What looked like a manager walked down the isles but didn't ask if we were liking our experience. Then after 30 minutes I threw down $45 cash on the table since they served us 2 drinks and a VERY WELL MADE CRAB CAKE appetizer which was the best my wife ever had.... and we walked out. We made our dissatisfaction known to the hostess. So the cook was awesome but we will never know how good the filet was since it never got served to us. We stayed at the hotel next door for a weekend staycation and picked up a kid's meal for our daughter. The young man at the front named Eli was the most friendly, hospitable, kind and personable young man. He was patient when we ordered, offered my daughter a drink while we waited (also cleaned up said drink that she spilled) and offered to bring her another one. Bass Street is lucky to have Eli at the front, the first face that is encountered when you walk in and the last person to thank you when you leave. The chicken tenders and fries were excellent! Hands down the best restaurant in the Quad Cities!! They have a great menu and friendly staff! Their waiter was very accommodating and knowledgeable. We had a few appetizers and the chicken salad, delicious!! They have a full bar with a great selection of liquors and wine. They have a tv at the bar, perfect for catching the game. This place was hyped up from a coworker. We went on a Friday and I was quite excited to try the Waygu steak. We ordered without issue (the crab cakes and steak two-tip appetizers were delicious). Right before our entrees came out, the server informed us that the cooks "Didn't like the way our waygu steaks were coming out" and therefore "didn't want to serve them to us". We had to settle for the Prime Rib which was average. My party and I suspect it had something to do with the two private parties in the restaurant, but I would have appreciated a more honest answer (we promised this large group waygu steaks)...rather than the excuse that the chefs couldn't properly cook the steaks. Food was good, but not worth the price. I probably won't go back if I'm back in town. read more

I am still in shock, upset and honestly appalled by the way this restaurant's manager and part owner treated us and broke the ADA Federal Law. As soon as we walked in we were disrespected by one of the managers, Mark. He demanded and kept repeating that he needed to see paperwork for a service dog. It was explained that he is a service dog and he can't legally ask for that. We explained what he can ask, but he just shook his head and helped other guests get seated while he waited for the paperwork. Mark continued to raise his voice, talk in a disrespectful manner and cause a scene which was completely humiliating and uncalled for. We pulled up the paperwork anyway to show proof that he is a service dog for a medical purpose. This completely violates the handler's rights and breaks the law. Then one of the part owners, David, came over. He walked up to us with anger in his voice and talked to us in a way that floored me even more. He said that he knew the law and they needed the paperwork. We told him clearly he doesn't know the law and reexplained that they are breaking the federal law. David told us that there are plenty of other places for us to go to! Talk about discrimination! We truly wanted to educate them and explain the law so that this does not happen to anyone ever again at this establishment, but neither one of them would calm down, listen to us and treat us with respect. The female hostess was so sweet and walked us to a table as David continued. She apologized for the interaction which she had nothing to do with. We sat down, ordered some food, but didn't really eat due to being so upset. Our waiter, Larry, was attentive and just sweet as can be. Upon leaving, Mark was nowhere to be found and we had to request to talk to David. We pulled up the federal law to show him and he then stated he didn't need to see it because they went and read it after telling us they knew it. So after creating an awfully humiliating & upsetting scene (again, breaking the law) and realizing they were in the wrong they did not come up and apologize! They didn't try to make it right! Wow! That right there shows these two characters, how they treat others and how they run this business. All we wanted was a nice meal where we knew we could go due to allergies, but we will never be back there again. Thankfully, the service dog was not affected by this incident and was there to perform tasks for its handler during and after this incident. Staff cannot ask about the person's disability, require medical documentation, require a special identification card or training documentation for the dog, or ask that the dog demonstrate its ability to perform the work or task."     2.    "People with disabilities who use service animals cannot be isolated from other patrons, treated less favorably than other patrons, or charged fees that are not charged to other patrons without animals." I genuinely hope nobody has to experience this. In case anyone has a situation like this happen or if you witness it happen here is information on what someone can do: What happens if a person thinks a covered entity's staff has discriminated against him or her? Individuals who believe that they have been illegally denied access or service because they use service animals may file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice.  Individuals also have the right to file a private lawsuit in Federal court charging the entity with discri mination under the ADA. read more

Very disappointed- we have given two chances. The first time server seemed very short and abrupt with us. The food was good. We went tonight to grab dinner after getting off work- we asked to sit on the patio and were told it was closed for the evening...no big deal we didn't mind either way. We then were sat and sat for 10 mins before someone stopped by to tell us they would be with us shortly. We then ordered drinks and they were brought to table. We probably waited at least another 15-20 minutes before anyone came to take our order. At that point we just got our check. I mentioned it to the bartender as we were leaving and was told the server was also outside also- so that's why she probably took so long. We felt like we were not valued as customers. I have nearly ten years of experience in the service industry bartending, serving, and managing. I have nothing but respect and patience for those in the industry. When there are multiple servers standing in your ally and only a few tables in the restaurant service should definitely be better. read more

Stopped for a bite around 3 in the afternoon. The lobster corn chowder is very good with a little kick of heat. I was not a fan of the crab stuffed mushrooms. Not much flavor for $22 for 5 mushrooms. My husband had the burger which was awesome. Great quality meat. read more

I had dinner at the restaurant tonight. First, the lights above our heads were flickering throughout the entire evening. Secondly, the food took an hour and 10 minutes to arrive. Third, the lobster mac & cheese was a disaster... Bland and crunchy. The lobster tail was undercooked the steaks... 7 ounce fillets were reasonable. The sausage and pepper soup didn't have much taste. The plantation salad was tasty, and the bread was warm in flavorful. I felt bad for our server Larry, as his hands were tied on most aspects of this meal. Dinner for five people, with two of them only eating macaroni and lobster, $350.
