I had been using them for almost 5 years and then one day I got a complaint that said I was "attacking other computers". Now I am a computer and programmer but I am also highly ethical about it and find hacking for malicious purposes utterly reprehensible. So after the accusation I searched my network top to bottom, checked for malicious programming, rootkits, Trojans whatever and found nothing. So I thought nothing of it but I became suspicious about it. Then I started using a vpn and I got another complaint, this was a dmca. I thought this odd that they were able to tie a dmca to my ip when I am using a vpn and not downloading things. So I went on, tightened security, checked all computers and did a reformat of every computer well then I got another apparently. They did not notify me, they just cut my service off at home. The first communication from them was that they cut off my service after I was forced to contact them. They said I had to call in to talk to them. Next they locked my account so I could not remove my credit card number so they could continue to charge my cc while not giving me service. So then I called in angry. The first guy said I had to talk to customer service and he would put me on hold and transfer. 30 minutes later no one so I hung up. Called in again, this time the phones are unable to transfer me but someone would call back....they never did. Then I called in later, this time they cut me off because I went to a website they did not approve of so they cut me off and I was supposed to get called back and again they did not...and still they have no problem charging my credit card. Even worse now, they have changed their story 5 times about why they cut off my service. They will not give me service nor will they give me my money back nor will they stop charging my credit card so yeah...crap A or crap B!

Ron Mills, business account manager in the metro area, is an unscrupulous, slick talking man but his supervisor, Reid, when I finally was able to get in contact with Ron's supervisor after three attempts on filling out their complaint forms, said, "you signed a contract." I simply could not get the transfer code from Xfinity for my paid-off iPhone 13ProMax THAT DAY so Ron said, "let's just swap out a phone for you." And it was a standard iPhone 14, (much poorer camera features.) THEN THEY TOOK MY FULLY PAID OFF iPhone 13 PRO MAX AND SHIPPED IT AWAY BEFORE CONTRACTS WERE EVEN SIGNED. I WAS STUCK. I put it on auto pay (who checks those payments? Oops), and come to find out, I'm stuck with a three-year contract. Two years into it I still owe $1000. He had me swap out my paid off phone for a three year contract? As I asked Reid, his boss, "what normal healthy person would do a contract like that? If he can't see well enough to literally read the fine print?" He wouldn't answer. I asked the same questing in three variations, including a yes/no response. Crickets. I am visually impaired, as I told them at the time - it was obvious. Ron said, "it's the best deal you can get," and his rude boss, Reid, finally getting back to me, belligerently kept saying "you signed a contract." He had no compassion for a mentally and physically impaired senior. If Ron Mills is working at this store that day you want to set up a business account, DON'T, find another location if you want to get a business account. Or better yet, another carrier, ) Ron services several stores.) Ron even had me make up a business so he could work with me. All I wanted was a second phone line. There are actually people on the other side that you can deal with right there and now. I was a usfamily.net customer for my email and internet for YEARS and then they joined up with Velocity. Still great service (I don't have a landline ...just the internet at home). I would have given them 5 stars because I am not sure if it is my computer, modem or them but my internet is not all that fast....I wish it was but I don't need it all that much at home when I have it here at work. I highly recommend them for service. They have always been sincere and helpful. Even with my Mom...if she ever had issues they were very patient with her. :) and solved her problems.

While friends of mine have "free" email (gmail, etc) they're plagued with spam. USFAMILY beautifully filters enormous amounts of it. I can still view it if I choose, and when I do view it, I'm always blown away how much crap they've save me from. The very few times I've needed assistance, a live person is ready and willing and solves my issues quickly. Definitely worth the few dollars it costs me per year!

Not only was this never disclosed, they refused to share with me any documentation that says I consented to such a fee. When I finally go the agreement from them, it had no mention of a termination fee. So even after I showed them the last payment that specifically stated full and final payment, accepted by cashing, they still turned me over to collection. I guess I should have known better, the service worked okay but whenever I had a service question or issue, the owner's son Jamie would never return calls and did not seem to have any idea of the workings of his father's company. A couple of years ago, they assigned me to Todd Anderson. Todd was no better, he never returned phone calls and never kept any promises that he made. Absolutely the worst company that you could possibly imagine. Take it from me as one of their first customers, brutal!

We did not have an option in Deephaven, MN - since we moved in during December, we've been averaging 10-20 hours of random down time a week. My wife and I both work from home, and it could not be more unbelievably frustrating (we have bad cell reception at our house, so 3-4 times a week I have to drive to a coffee shop or work from a parking lot because of this). Mediacom should owe all of us tens of thousands of dollars in lost time from all of their outages. It is hard to imagine there's a company that could maintain this level of downtime - that their network is so unreliable feels impossible. RUN the other way if you have any possible option to do so!
