Small buffet with very few offerings. What was available had no flavor and was cold. Don't waste your time or $$.

Your limited in this town to what you can eat :(( this is our first night here while we hike big bend. We felt as far as options there were plenty of options unlike what some of the reviews have said but the quality of food is very poor because it's not fresh. Everything was soggy and cold. I would suggest going to Walmart and get something to eat as funny as this sounds. read more

So we are crossing Texas and the gas tank says we are stopping in Fort Stockton, so I look on Yelp for somewhere to eat and it comes down to 2. Dragon Buffet wins. So we come inside and surprisingly there are Asians running the restaurant. Not really what we expected. In fact they were like right off the boat Asians that didn't seem to understand English. So like any other buffet there is a hallway with a register to pay first, but they ushered us in to start eating first... okay... So the food was better than other Chinese buffets I have been to and even better than some sit down Chinese restaurants I have reviewed. There were like 16 entree choices white rice, fried rice and chow mein. Surprisingly there were at least 3 shrimp dishes I saw, so they are not all just cheap heavily breaded and fried pork and chicken dishes coated in sugary sauces. The decor was interesting, they have Asian hand fans on the walls, all with pricetags hanging from them, we couldn't figure out if they were for sale or if someone just didn't remove the tags. As promised the hot and sour was really good and the server was not real friendly. If you would rather have 15 really good choices as opposed to 30 mediocre choices then this is it. Some of the best Chinese buffett food I have ever had and I eat Chinese buffett way more then anyone should. read more

Food is absolutely terrible. Run down sh** hole and for $16 you can go on down to sagebrush cafe and have a decent homemade meal.

The food is FIRE. Seriously, the food is so freaking amazing. The service is hilariously awful, but the food genuinely makes up for that.

Do not ever go to this place. Double check your receipt because Joy at the register adds more amount to your total I guess to keep it for herself later on. When I questioned her she said utensils, napkins and fortune cookies are extra charge. Manager is on vacation so I guess nothing will be done at this point. So BEWARE!!! JOY IS A THIEF! read more

Dragon Buffet is surprisingly good. The staff was friendly, very good about checking on us and refilling out drinks. The buffet itself was stocked full and kept up with fresh food. There seemed to be someone from the kitchen out there every five mintues or so to check the food and refill it. There was a good variety of food to pick from. My whole family enjoyed this place. They do advertise delivery but sadly its not true. Every time you call they will say they do not have a driver. read more

Contrary to some negative reviews I saw on here, this place is quite extraordinary and inexpensive for what they offer. They delivered in record time to the Best Western and my food was hot and perfectly cooked. Veggies were fresh, hot and sour soup was amazing, and the tofu dish was great. You don't have a lot of options in Fort Stockton and I'm happy I took a chance here. read more

Went here twice while in town. Really enjoyed the rice and noodles, General Tsos chicken, sweet and sour chicken and several other items. The crab wontons were fantastic and had to stop myself from pigging out on them. The food seemed to turnover pretty quickly and I was very happy to find a decent buffet that made me want to come back. The only reason I did this buffet was because there is a real lack of decent spots open past 8 on a Friday night. Recommended spot and I'd come back again. read more

We were headed back to Phoenix from San Antonio and it was lunch time so we decided to give Dragon Buffet a try. We did the buffet bar and the food was excellent, it was hot, fresh and tasted good. Some reviews say the staff is not friendly, that wasn't my experience, my opinion of the staff is that they were cordial, prompt and friendly in responding to my requests; on three separate occasions while I was there I communicated with different staff members and all were polite. read more

THE BAD REVIEWS ON HERE ARE RIDICULOUS. GIVE THEM A BREAK. We drove from California, called at 9:22 pm and ordered delivery to our hotel. I did not see that they closed at 9:30 pm until after I called but they still accepted our delivery order. The kindest people! Delivery driver was so nice! We got tofu, chicken, 3 different rices, noodles, and dumplings. The portions are huge and my daughter loved the tofu. Would recommend if you're staying in Stockton. read more

We found that the selection was very limited. My wife said the broccoli tasted very bitter, in fact she said it tasted like it had been dipped in a chemical. The imitation crab in one dish was mushy and inedi. None of the selections were what I would call delicious. I found that the cost of $12 was way too hot for what you got. It's a very small restaurant and not what you would expect from a Chinese buffet. Perhaps the worst complaint of all is that my wife detected the odor of bat guano in the restroom. read more

BEWARE: this place is disgusting. It is extremely dirty and overpriced. We walked into the restaurant with a dirty barrel holding the door open. The candy and gum ball machine that lined the entrance were broken down with some old nasty candy remaining in some of the machines and a thick layer of dust. The floor was sticky. The staff is rude. The buffet is small. The ice cream freezer had a layer of dried up melted ice cream on the top of the sliding door. And this disgusting experience cost $14 per person with drink included. Terrible. . .decent selection but egg drop soup tasted like it was made with rancid oil. One bite I stopped eating it and continued tasting hastily. My wife, two sons and myself left early as they weren't very impressed with overall flavors. We drove in on a Saturday evening, Best Western Plus suggested a few eateries that delivers in the area. Domino's was up to a 2 hrs wait so we opted for Dragon Buffet. We end up picking up our foods possibly due to their lack of driver. Our order was ready within a reasonable time, the only edible item was the hot/sour soup. We were all so grossed out by the beef & broccoli. Not sure how to describe the source of the meat, let's just say it didn't taste anything like beef! Steer Clear!! read more

We were traveling through and since this place had a decent rating and we spotted a menu in the lobby of our hotel we decided or order take out after a long few days of travel. Man what a bad decision that was! The egg drop soup was inedible. As soon as I opened it I could smell it was off - it was as if the water had been off when they started making it. We ordered the family meal planning on taking our leftovers with us for breakfast/lunch the next day and we just barely picked at any of our food and threw it all out. This place is a JOKE. I came to town with my hubby so we could go to Big Bend NP so we got a hotel room and I went to find something to eat while hubs was setting up the room. I found this place because they have a buffet. What a JOKE that was. It's a very small buffet with an equally small amount of dishes to choose from. Some of the food trays were empty and this was a 7pm. I asked for a container for some soup and was given an 8oz container, another JOKE. Wasn't big enough to put a decent amount of soup in. I filled 2 carry out containers, went up front to pay, asked if the soup came with a carry out meal and was told that it was $2 extra, ok, don't want it then, you keep it lady. She picked up the soup container, walked into the kitchen to give it to some guy so he could dump it back in the pot, gross. Then she rang up the rest of it. $34. WTF, it's $8.25 a lb, plus $2 extra because I had spooned up some imitation crabmeat and cocktail shrimp in some kind of sauce. I told her to keep that too, turned around and walked out, to the sound of her screeching at someone from the register while other guests were waiting to check out, LOL. A total rip off JOKE!. Heed my warning, don't come here, not much of a buffet. I think they charge high prices because they're the only chinese buffet in town, we're talking about a small town out in west Texas. Someone needs to come out here and open up a HUGE buffett out by the truck stops with truck parking. As a trucker myself, I can tell you that you'll be busy from open to close because truckers can't get good food at the truck stops. read more

Enter Dragon Buffet. Who knew there was Chinese food in the middle of nowhere... if you're a fan of the Chinese buffet dinner minus the bad karaoke, then you are in luck in Fort Stockton. Taking a trip across country by car, you eat a lot of fast food... It's nice to find a place that goes against the norm, especially in the middle of nowhere! Dragon Buffet is a modest little restaurant with moderate prices. The food is tasty and there is a good variety of beef, chicken, seafood and vegetables. There are even desserts. I've eaten a lot of Asian food in my life and this establishment does a very nice job with some of the dishes. I especially enjoyed the fish. I would have given them only four stars, but they earned the extra star for their stellar hospitality! We came into their place less than an hour before closing, tired and hungry, with cranky children. Not only were they welcoming despite the hour, they cooked more food to freshen the buffet and then filled take-out boxes for us as we were leaving... Something buffets never do! If I ever pass through Fort Stockton again, I'll definitely enjoy another meal at Dragon Buffet! read more

My husband and I were staying in a hotel close by. We were pulling a trailer and did not want to unhook or drive anywhere else. This little restaurant was a great surprise. The buffet had several choices and fresh dishes arrived in timely manner. We felt the price was fair for the dishes provided. I would definitely stop there again. Nothing original to add, just that this is the place to eat if you are stuck in Ft. Stockton for the night on a drive. V. inexpensive - hard to know how they do it for the price - super nice folks, they were refreshing the buffet even though I got there at 9:45 and they were closing soon. I got a little bit of everything except the desserts by piling the take out container high, all very good. Plus they give you little containers for mustard/chili-sauce/soup. I am kind of glad they are here instead of in LA, I would probably be by twice a week. The staff is obviously family, first-gen/off-the-boat. Despite some language issues, they were charming and helpful. I hope they are as successful as their product value and customer service deserves. read more

One of the best Chinese buffets I have tried in a while. Great value, very clean, I highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed.

We just ate here on our way back to Austin from NM. Normally I avoid buffets of any kind, but Dragon buffet is an oasis in a desert of steak houses and fast food joints. Al dente veggies that aren't drowned in sauce and perfect steamed ricoeoi. We thought this place was better than most buffets in our diverse foodie hometown of Austin. read more

Not sure if we were just really hungry and been living off of turkey sandwiches for the past few days hiking at Big Bend but this place was clean, the waitress was really attentive and we went during a slow hour and the food was still pretty good. When the old owner sold out and left I was worried because the restaurant was already good as was the owner. However it is even better now, and the food and employees are all great. We tend to take out food since there are several of us in the family. The food stays delicious refrigerated and microwaved until it's all gone. Prices are excellent too read more
