I was seated fast. The service is good, and they definitely have a locals scene going on with the old women, and a couple of old guys. The waitress said to be careful of the plate because it was hot. That was the only part that was hot. I was a clump of blandness. All of the good stuff was stuck to the bottom of the plate, and the center was warm at best. The lettuce and whatever else was on top. Nothing like pulling cold beans and cheese apart. I dumped the entire cup of salsa on it and it didn't help because it had zero heat, and tasted like tomatoes only, probably because of the old people I'm sure. The tortilla chips and salsa were good. The chips were warm and crispy and the salsa was tangy and peppery, which I like. My son enjoyed his enchilada plate quite a bit. Charming family restaurant This is probably the best dinner option in Fort Stockton. The restaurant has a nice homely feel and ambience about it and the staff are lovely. The food is delicious - we shared a burger, low-carb beef fajitas and low-carb chicken fajitas. They don't sell alcohol so you can take your own to the restaurant and it's cheaper if you settle your bill in cash. The mint ice cream that comes with your bill is a nice touch! read more

Very fast service and the food was awesome. Warm, thin chips with salsa that was spicy but not too spicy. Chicken enchilada was moist and tasty. Husband had chili poblano that he inhaled plus an extra taco that was loaded with beef. Beans and rice were well seasoned. We wanted to lock the plates clean. We plan our trips so we get there around noon but they're open in the evenings as well Wednesday through Friday. At noon and evenings. Adonna Abby and their mom and this young sweet gringo server are just amazing. They work as a team to provide you the most delicious food with prompt service available on the planet. Ignoring customers won't get you any repeat business. Reported in, told her there were 2 of us, and was told - curtly - to wait in the dark room inside the doorway. And we waited. And waited. She walked by us twice, no comment either time. We felt ignored. Checking the restaurant - there are many empty tables. We wait a bit more. It's pushing 10 minutes. We could easily have been seated when we walked in. As a waitress and manager - many years in restaurant service, there is NO excuse for not seating us as we arrived. It was not busy. Great local spot for Mexican food! The food: I got the fajita beef quesadilla and it was delicious. The beef was tender and we'll seasoned. The quesadilla was gooey and cheesy and huge! I think the slices mat have been too big actually, but it was great overall. It comes with some warm salsa (big fan), chips, rice, refried beans, and sour cream. I highly recommend giving it a try. They had a very extensive menu overall and I look forward to trying other dishes. They also sell margaritas by the gallon if you're in to that. Thanks to yelp* we located this restaurant a mile or so off of the Interstate and it was worth the trip. Fort Stockton is a tiny, little town in West Texas and this was one of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever experienced. First off, the exterior is colorful and inviting (a definite plus compared to the rest of the surrounding buildings) and the young lady who greeted us was friendly. This place is family owned so I think she was the owners niece and the owner may even have been our waitress. No beer, unfortunately, for us since we were driving but the chips and salsa were awesome. The interior was nice and homey and sparkling clean and we waited a short time for our meals. This will have to go down as one of the best Mexican meals I have ever had - hands down! The service was impeccable and everything was piping hot and freshly prepared. Although it wasn't our first choice--many restaurants in the area were closed at the time--we had a pleasant dining experience. We were welcomed and seated immediately. The restaurant had a casual and neighborly feel to it. The hostess and waitress were over-the-top friendly and hospitable. The salsa had a good bite to it, and the chips tasted fresh. I did appreciate the low-carb options, which is difficult to find in a Mexican restaurant. My husband ordered the low-carb beef fajita plate, which for him the fajitas were well-seasoned and really tender. I had the low-carb chicken ranchero plate. Driving thru Texas you can always find a Tex-Mex place for lunch. Just made it in as they were closing at 2. Was able to grab a table and order fajita salads. As it is they serve with tortillas and salsa anyway, so no need to make a traditional fajita. I had the chicken and steak combo. It was great. But the steak was excellent.
