The bookshelves are incredible. For those that remember Unicorn and Dead Poet's Books - this store has that same vibe. The biggest downside, for me, is the lack of a/c. Las Vegas used to be a haven for book & used book lovers, but the market has changed, and now all bookstores struggle. I understand and sympathize with that. I personally can only take the heat for so long though. There are tons of books (including comic books) in every genre - definitely worth checking out! read more

This book store is such a cool "hole in the wall" find! They have been there for years and have so much literature to choose from! I'm a sucker for romance novels, plenty of those! But also tons in other genres as well! They also have some super interesting collectible items locked up in their cases! Definitely worth a stop in! read more

This is a good sized store with plenty of books. It is next to the Smiths Grocery. The staff is very helpful. I was able to find a One Piece Anime book and it cost half of the original book price. read more

I tried to sell books and it was fine at first but the man at the front is not the nicest. I came in to seek a ton of books but he particularly choose my whole leather bound set of game of thrones 62$ retail, walking dead comics up until comic 22 (more or less 150$ or more all together), the complete works of Shakespeare (leather bound and around 22$) and I believe two more. He initially wanted to give me 25 for all of it which is a crazy price for books in such good condition & shape, wether or not he has multiple copies of it he told me he can only do 25 so I sucked it up because I needed the cash but if I had a magic 8 ball I'd never come there to sell my books and sell it to a libary instead. Don't come here to sell your books if you're looking for more than 20% or even 50% per book title, condition or etc. you'll get ripped off. read more

Decided to pop in here to check this place out as I love used book stores. I enjoyed the tall stacks and getting to wander through perusing books in a nice quiet space. The man at the front wasn't super engaging or friendly but he was polite enough I suppose. The prices were a little higher than I expected but were only unreasonable in a few cases. I didn't purchase anything as they didn't have any books I needed for my personal library. The ones they did have were books I already had. It's a nice place to browse but I don't know that I'd go way out of my way to come here. read more

I was so excited to come here! I came here quite a while ago but haven't been back. Maybe it's because I'm from Washington state which has tonssssss of used book stores and so I'm used to more options and at much cheaper prices....but this place is pricey! For those from Vegas maybe that's how it is. It wasn't the friendliest environment when I went in too. Just not at all what I expected from a used bookstore. read more

Good, reasonably priced book store. The place was organized well and easy to navigate, which is about all I need for a used book store. If anything I wish that prices on some of the books were more prominent. Though I know many of the books are old and people might not want books marked up, I had a hard time finding prices for some of the books. Otherwise this was a fine store. read more

Service selection and value. I visited to deposit used books and found a lovely lady who knows the store and books well. It is much larger than it seems when one walks in the door. There is a huge selection of books for all ages and genres. Wow is all I can say. I enjoyed going there! read more

I'd like to give this 3.5 stars. But I will settle for 4. It's a neat little bookstore with tons of options. I like how they had a comic book section and a wide variety of books. I didn't find any that I personally wanted in a certain selection so I was sad about that. Truthfully, it is hard to find books though. I wish it was more easy to find sections and it alphabetical order. Or grouped differently. What is true is the PRICES!! It is expensive. Books I have found and wanted, were more expensive than purchasing them online! I bought one older version of a used Banksy book. $40+. I could have bought it online for less but I wanted to support the store. I like how it is a family run business, I support local businesses. And I like how they offer a 10% off Yelp check in. Even though they add tax to the books... I also appreciated how it fresh it smelled inside for it being a used book store. Awesome for that. read more

I went to Dragon Castle Books to trade, sell, and or donate a trunk full of books I had. When I entered the store, the man at the front did not appear happy to help me. When I asked how things at the store worked, he replied annoying and sarcastically that it was a used book store, "as you can see." When I asked to take a look around the store before trading or selling anything, he replied, "it depends on what you are looking for." At this point, I didn't feel like I was welcome to walk around the store. So I asked if I could bring my books in for him to check out. He agreed, and I got my books. As he was checking them out, he started to shake his head. He told me, after dropping off 4-boxes worth of quality books, that he couldn't trade anything for what I have or give me any money. I explained that was fine, and if I could donate the books. He said I could, but only after making it very clear to me that I couldn't get any money for it (even though that was never the primary intent of me coming into the store). Hard to explain, but I felt unwanted at the store. I wasn't able to look at the books in the store, and won't be returning to donate, sell, or trade books. As someone who was just looking to get rid of a trunk of books and check out some new children's books for my students, I did NOT feel welcome. read more

This establishment has a ton of books! They are rather overpriced in my opinion. Apparently, they charge half of the MSRP on the back of the book. That's fine, I get that. I got a few comic books for my kids and they charged double the MSRP, claiming they are collectors and more rare. I did end up buying them because my kids were in love with the books. I researched the book titles when I got home. There were some sites that are selling for the higher amounts but also in really great condition. I basically bought worn condition essential comics for the price of great condition comics. So, just do your due diligence when shopping here. They mark books not based on condition but by the highest they find online. read more

Literally one of MY FAVORITE PLACES! This is one of the best, coziest, most awesome used bookstores in the universe. The pricing is a little steep in my opinion but such a wonderful experience and that book smell smacks you right in the face as soon as you open the door. It's a tiny hole in the wall, you have to know where you're going to find it because it's behind another shop. On this book run I came across 1 edition of Timothy Zahn Star Wars novel hard back. I really enjoyed this bookstore! They have a great selection of books. The women who was working (maybe the owner?) was super friendly and helpful! She found 2 books for my little sister and I. She knows the store because she knew exactly where they were and didn't hesitate to say yes or no when we asked if she had it. I will definitely be visiting this store more frequently. I have a friend wanting to get some old copies of Hunter S Thompson books. I called in when I was doing some grocery shopping next door and asked what the had. The guy who helped me was patient and held the books I wanted until I finished my grocery shopping. When I went in, I saw some Captain Underpants books at the counter. As a kid I always wanted to buy them when the book fairs came to school. Couldn't ever get the scratch to procure one so I got all four copies the guy had. Good shop, looking forward to going and browsing sometime. read more

For some reason, I thought I had already reviewed this place. This is one of my favorite book stores in the city. It has a great selection of fantasy and sci-fi - nearly endless - and a pretty great selection of others as well. (I have procured some great poetry here.) It can become rather labyrinthian, so it's good to arrive with enough time to spare to simply meander, but it's nice to know this place is tucked away. read more

Pretty big selection for a used book store, but the shop itself could use a good organizing. Lots to pick from if you're into trashy romance novels or mystery stuff, particularly Dean Koontz and Stephen King, whose novels take up an entire bookshelf. There's even an ample selection of YA Lit for teens (and those who wish we still were). Selection is varied, but you'll spend a bit of time trying to sift through it: you have Anais Nin erotica next to vintage Moby Dick, with everything Janet Evanovitch ever wrote, with no clear sections or signage. Worth a visit, but plan to spend a bit of time here. read more

Not sure why people are giving this shop 3 stars. Seems like people do not know the difference from a thrift shop and an actual book shop with hard to finds. If you think this place isnt organized then you havent been to many shops. Yes prices are more for certain books. Signed.first ed. Etc. Must not have a clue on lé books. Also you elite yelpers dont be greedy on your stars. Dont screw over a small book shop because they are rare these days. I love books!! I collect books!! I read books!! This place has a great selection!.Staff is helpful and nice! My only issue is that they have too many books that I want and cant get them all at once. This will be my new go to spot for books.
