This business isn't even open anymore. Drive here and wasted gas. Would be nice if places updated their business.

Last night Rod and his Phoenix rock band put on a performance worth writing about. This band…read moreconvinced me of the power behind words and music. They showed me the artistry behind the mastery of musical instruments. Inside the golden house of the Mandalay Bay. The Phoenix band proved to be Vegas born knights. Across from the House of Blues, they proved to be residents of a place where good karma lives. Up on their home stage of rock and roll is when I heard the true calling of the Phoenix. In between the words of their lyrics. Over the sound of their magical instruments. It was three words. In their house of rock, I did not have to pledge a God Bless America. I did not have to commit with an I Love You. All that was required was that I grab ahold of my guitar, and.....Let It Rock

I took my '88 Gibson bass to him for a neck repair. He claimed he could fix the neck, but I thought…read moreit needed a new neck. For $400 he glued the neck where it was starting to split and dressed the frets. I got the bass back and the action wasn't set tight. The strings were too high. I turned the truss rod, and the neck split apart. I took it back to him, and I asked him to remove the neck. Then I found a neck for it and asked him to glue it on for me. He refused and closed his business. I'm out $400, and I have to find someone else to do his work for him. What a waste of time and money working with this guy. He lied to me every chance he could, just like all the rest of the music business people in Southern Nevada.

Great service! I truly appreciate it when I find a place that actually cares about quality of…read moreservice and products. To be honest it has become so hard to find even one of those traits in both large and small businesses, you can just forget about finding both.........not here though. You can tell the owner really loves music and has a natural tendency for teaching it too. He seemed honest and straight forward, again qualities I appreciate. I have to admit he's also a good salesman, but not the kind you typically think of. He didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need and his prices seem to be very reasonable (and if they're not he sure did make me feel like they were). Like I said we went in to replace 1 guitar string and left with 6 brand new quality strings, a new nut, he tuned the guitar, cleaned and oiled it and added a part for her shoulder strap so she can play it freely without it being in her way. All of this was only $42 out the door. Over the weekend I had called around for pricing and most places wanted a $50 service charge just for replacing 1 string and tuning it in addition to the cost of the string which was $10 and up. I would definitely prefer to pay a little more for quality and have something that lasts than I would pay less and have to keep replacing it especially when it comes to musical instruments, but I'm also a single parent of 2 children and their sole provider. So, price is a variable but not the only thing that matters. I have the feeling based off of his interactions with my daughter that he is a great music teacher. I didn't want to bring up lessons in front of my daughter because I'm not sure if they're affordable, but I plan on calling tomorrow to see. Even if they're not, he's landed himself another loyal customer! TIP: I found him here on Yelp, he's a mile from our house and his store hours are listed as closing at 7pm. We got there at 5:50pm, thankfully because he actually closes at 6pm per his door sign. However, he did say that it's best to call when heading there in the evenings because on some days he closes early and some he closes late depending on his students.
