We were in Las Vegas and my daughter was looking for something specific we looked online and this store had it We drove about 20 min to get here store is big very clean and we went to the area we looked about 3 times and couldn't find the item We asked a young lady she took us to the center and had a young man look for us. A book how it breathes life and makes an individual feel happy and alive. Our most recent visit here was "just because!" After home schooling the kids for over a decade this was our favorite place to be. Much has changed over the years, but the importance is this. This Barnes and Noble has gotten just better ! The kids area has evolved into something better. Having children with special needs they carry an excellent sensory experience area where an individual can purchase and use as needed for their children. The book selection is designed well. It comes with a reading area for the little ones. Try the book out before you go home. If you're into the manga reads they can order what you don't have, as needed. They have an excellent selection of this genre . It's the twins favorite things to read at the moment. It's a little bit of everything for all sorts of different tastes. The point is you're just reading. If you need your caffeine and a little nook to read your book they have a cafe with coffee and snacks. It's just a place to come and visit and relax. Me and my children visit this location quite often and we never really receive above and beyond service, but this visit was different. We were instantly greeted at the door (which never happens), the greeter even provided a shopping bag (which I've never received), and there were employees on deck to answer questions (which is rare). There was one employee in particular who helped us throughout our visit. I was looking for SEL resources for my students and although the selection was minimal, she offered to search online and have them shipped. Also, for my leisurely reading, I was looking for a specific author and not only did she show me the selection, but she was knowledgeable about the author's series and able to recommend books! After check out, we went to the cafe and our helpful friend was actually on break and in line for coffee! Even on her break, she took time to chat with me and my children and informed us about the summer reading program. My four children and I went to this location and one of my daughters is Autistic and she was being pretty loud. I did not catch her name but she seemed to be the manager at the time helped me not only find one of the few books to help with parenting autistic children but she saw I was as struggling to keep my kiddo quiet and she reassured me we are welcome there all the time and it didn't matter how loud my daughter was. After I looked at receipt and cashier took me back to the BOGO tables, I found out that none of the books on the tables were part of the BOGO. On April 24th, my boyfriend went in to get Pokémon and a guy came out saying they had nothing. After that, another girl walked out after the guy and my bf was glad to see a girl walk out with product and had his hopes up as the girl claimed they still had plenty of product just under the counter. He asked the girls about the product and they looked at each other before deciding what to say while trying to hold a laugh. They finally claim there was no product left and he left. Only to find out after that another girl was able to get product after he was told there was no more. I'm not sure why they had lied about the availability of the product and my bf was very confused, disappointed, and upset over the interaction but I believe that wasn't right or fair and something should be done/said about it. read more

A good chain bookstore. Not sure if I've ever experienced a great book store in this city. Nevertheless, I'd consider it a Las Vegas staple. I would consider them small compared to some bookstores I've been to in other large cities. However, Las Vegas is not known nor do people come here to visit the book stores (at least not to my knowledge). It's nice. Has a coffee café (chain as well). If they don't have what you're looking for they'll attempt to order it for you. They occasionally have special events such as in store 'story time' for kids, and lately I've seen adverts for "virtual" events with authors to discuss their book(s). I love going into this Barnes & Noble location the best of the 3 in the valley. It lacks some of the ambience and inventory of other locations, but it has my heart. I usually tend to have very pleasant experiences with the cashiers here, I have been using this barnes and noble since I was a kid, so around 15 plus years now, always spending a lot of money when I come, and regularly coming back for holidays etc as I love getting books for gifts during every special occasion possible. I always use my mom's phone number for the rewards program, since she has nearly fully converted to audio books years ago now and i'm the only one in the family buying physical books anymore. Today when giving the cashier my mom's number, and preemptively saying "the name will be under" and proceeded to call out my mom's name before she was able to fully put in the number. I claimed her free tote bag, as she collects those and we live together, so i'd be able to give it to her when I got home, and I continued to check out. As i'm paying, a separate cashier named Felicia calls over the one checking me out, and begins whispering (albeit not very quietly) asking if she ID'd me to use my mom's membership. Never once in my 15 plus years of going here have I heard this ridiculous policy or rule, and to try and be sneaky about it right in front of the customer is HIGHLY unprofessional. To the cashier Felicia, please consider the TIME and PLACE of your actions when you are on the clock and representing a business, you have lost your store a very loyal and well paying customer. read more

Huge shout out and thank you to Candice (Candace?) at this location! Yesterday I spent over an hour browsing and selecting 8 books throughout the store. I was at the last section I wanted to look through, placed my books on top of the shelves to pick up a book that caught my eye, then, as if in slow motion, one book after another started sliding off my pile. I quickly grabbed my books and went over to the other aisle of the shelves to grab the couple that had slid off - and they weren't there. My books had actually fallen BETWEEN the book shelves! I could see them, but there was no way to reach in there. This is where Candice comes in to save the day! I found her at check out and she came right over with me to the section. Candice quickly assessed the problem and left to seek help. When she returned she had a couple of colleagues with her and they began emptying the bookshelf and taking it apart! They retrieved my books rather quickly! I'll be honest, when Candice came to look at what had happened, she took a photo of the books I had dropped, and I just assumed she was going to suggest leaving them there and she could order them to be delivered to me. That would have been the easier thing to do for her. I'm extremely grateful she made the effort to go above and beyond and I can only hope B&N reward her in some way for being such a stellar employee! read more

I go to Barnes and Noble religiously, the store is always clean and the selection is always diverse. I love that the Cafe technically is not considered to be part of Starbucks. I love that members receive 10% Off and free upgrades on drinks and discounts on food and loyalty points for cash off books. The service is always nice and they are always willing to look up books and go find it for you. They are also quick to give recommendations and some of their recommendations were really good! I wish that they expand the Horror section and expanded it closer the thrillers. But always have fun and can find a book for less than $15! Wish they ran their online deals in store! read more

2 stars for selection -3 stars for horrendous customer service by old man Waited in line and lady in front is counteracting the price of her book. Long story short, her book was ~supposed~ to be 50% off but it was rung at full price. Employee says he will play around to make sure she gets 50% off and says he will go and talk to a manager, the lady offers me to cut in front 3x and the employee said NO, so I am there waiting even longer while he leaves the counter. It seems like favoritism was played, since he kinda knew her, over customer service. Thank goodness another employee saw me annoyed and she rang me and I got to leave within 30 seconds after the transaction. B&N had a promo, purchase $50+ hard cover books and I would receive a $20 bonus within 3 days. Initially, purchased a mix of hard and paperback, but Felicia S. explained that the promo was for $50+ in hardcover. Swapped paperback for hardcover; Felicia completed the exchange and purchase in one transaction, assuring me that I would receive the $20 within 3 days. B&N has disagreed and said that because of the exchange, it does not qualify. So basically, Felicia lied to me. Ended up spending more to qualify for the promo, but this was done because Felicia misrepresented the promo and provided false information. I won't be back to this location. Barnes & Noble is a great place to browse potential investments in literature. What I like about this Barnes & Noble is that it appeals to many demographics by having different types of displays and designated sections of the store. There is a manga section, a sci-fi section, a romance section, and of course, sections for, pretty much, all major book genres. There is also a Starbucks! What I like about this Barnes & Noble is that it's clean, has a very helpful staff, and overall is a great location to read, study, or just ponder about life. I was desperate to find a stuffed moose, as Amazon had let me down and lost my order...I called over to this B&N and spoke with Marian. The website showed that they did have the stuffed moose in store but I was calling just to be sure.
