5/5 Stars I've been to comic book stores all over Las Vegas and across the country, and Maximum Comics is one of the best. The owner and staff are outstanding. They're always friendly, welcoming, remember their regulars, and truly make you feel like part of the community. Customer service here is second to none. The selection is excellent, from new releases and back issues to graphic novels, collectibles, and statues, all at very fair prices. My son has a pull list here, and they always let him know when his books arrive or when there are great deals or promotions. The store has an awesome vibe with great music, a clean layout, and even a retro gaming area in the back where you're encouraged to hang out and play. Snacks and drinks are only $1, which is a nice touch. Their apparel is also fantastic, with unique designs inspired by comics, Vegas sports, and pop culture that you won't find just anywhere. Great hours, great prices, incredible people, and a store that truly cares about its customers. Maximum Comics has earned our business for years to come. Highly recommended! read more

Maximum Comics' brand new Centennial Hills store is one where it's easy to get lost in time! My daughter and I stopped by to take a look at their comics! Upon entering the new store, I immediately noticed the vast amount of space within. The entire store felt well organized, allowing you to easily browse their many items including comic books, graphic novels, collectibles, and action figures. While interacting with the employees at the new Centennial Hills store, I found them to be extremely friendly and willing to assist with any questions I may have asked! They were offering free comics on the day we stopped by and ended up getting a Sonic, Spidey, Avengers, and Lego Batman comic! The store had an extensive amount of inventory! Each time I believed I had viewed every item available, I discovered an additional shelf, display, or section to view. Whether you are a serious collector or just interested in learning more about comics, there will likely be some type of product that interests you at MaximuM comics! The new Centennial Hills store is a fantastic addition to the area. It recently moved from the Walmart shopping area, now over to Tenaya next to Starbucks and a few local restaurants. It is clean and is very well stocked. Be prepared to spend a considerable amount of time there, even if you only intend on taking a quick peek! read more

My kids all-time favorite comic book store. They have extensive amount of comics from all different era. The store also has variety of your favorite comic heroes in display sized statues. Please note they are relocating to 7290 W. Azure Dr Unit 130 Las Vegas, Nevada 89130 sometime between mid-October to early November 2022 according to the staff. Their new store will be smaller than the present location so expect a clearance coming soon since they have to reduce their inventory. Maximum Comics is at a level you won't find at any other store. As the world appears to fall down around us a step into Maximum Comics is stepping out of our dystopia and into a better time when things are going to be okay. Maximum comics is the retail equivalent of being a teenager hanging out with your friends talking about comics while your mom makes your favorite dinner and your dad is alive again, gives you a hug and tells you how proud he is of you and how he'd like you to have this hundred thousand dollars. Except you're spending money on comics. The first time I went into Maximum Comics I was generally pleased. The second time, five weeks later, when the gentleman at the counter remembered my name after exactly one visit blew my mind. Not only are all the team at Maximum somehow savants at remembering people, they are incredibly well read on the subject matter and exhibit sparkling personalities, even under the pressure of a client rush on a Wednesday. Angelo, Gavin, Jett and Kara's recommendations are always on point and whenever I see one of their names recommending a book I seriously consider it. All of this is coordinated by the shop owner, Jay, whose Robin Williams-esque charisma sets the tone of the place and whose benevolent rule keeps the store at the cutting edge of comics. Jay takes the time to understand his customers and has personally recommended some of my favorite comics of all time. The store features numerous customer first policies: the books are priced fairly. Sales are frequent and diverse. If you don't like a comic you can bring it back (??!) and selling books to maximum comics feels like an honorable transaction; you don't have to sell comics on eBay anymore, maximum gives reasonable value. The comics on the walls are all marked with their distinguishing features, and often if their condition is not ideal the shop will actually call it out, whereas basically every other LCS just lets you caveat emptor, Maximum wants you to know what you're getting. Maximum has a social media team better than most multinational corporations.They have spectacular events. If there is any proof that my love for this shop is not hyperbole it's the fact that they can readily muster a massive group of their clients to spend a Thursday night on instagram shopping for comics with the enthusiasm of a Taylor Swift Ticket Drop. Last time Maximum threw a birthday party the store was so packed you could've crowd-surfed from front to back. The negatives of Maximum Comics are that every time you wander into another retail establishment you'll wonder why they can't replicate the experience of maximum, or even come close to it. If you could distill the vibes of this place the result would cure cancer and repair the spinal cords of injured puppies. read more

Maximum Comics is the comics store I frequent locally the most. It is also the newest location for them in town, luckily it's near me! Life-size Hulk statue? Check. Airy, bright atmosphere? Check. Checkerboard tiling? Check. Scentsy smelling bathroom? Check. Comics and all things nerdy? Check! Gone are the days of comic book stores that look like your Mom's crowded basement with a 40-year-old virgin living in it. By the way, I do appreciate those types of stores (focus is on the books - man) but sometimes you wanna liven it up! Go somewhere warm! Better yet, bring your kids so you can teach them how you really learned to read! Yes, I learned more vocabulary from my busted up copy of Iron Fist #14 (the first appearance of Sabretooth) than I did from a week of school! Psst...Marvel...by the way...you NEED to make Iron Fist a damn big @$$ blockbuster film. Add Michael Jai White or Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson as Luke Cage and you'll be golden. Maximum Comics has everything you need to fill that comic itch you want to scratch. Everything is laid out easily for browsing in neat, tidy sections. Did I mention how much I love clean and organized? Shop owner Maximum Jay knows how to keep a store runnin' tight & right. No dingy, moldy, musky smells! New comics section, graphic novels, back issue drawers, statue cases, and stacks & stacks of wonderful toys! Need the latest issue of Walking Dead? Got it. How about the 1 in 100 black & white sketch variant? Got it. A signed copy of Guardians of the Galaxy by Brian Michael Bendis? Got it. Limited edition of the Nightwing one-shot? Got it. Marvel Universe figures? Got it. Walking Dead's Daryl with motorcycle action figure? Got it. Uber cool prints by Ninjabot? Got them too! Even if I go on the interweb (honoring you IT Crowd lovers there) to get majority of my comics for competitive pricing, I always stop by Maximum Comics first to check them out. Sometimes you just want a comic or toy NOW instead of waiting for shipping. If you want a free pull box for your monthly favorite issues, Maximum Comics has that too! I can't afford a bunch of them monthly anymore, but I do indulge in a pull box of all the latest from the Walking Dead. I can pick up my issues at my convenience, not worry that there won't be a copy for me, each book comes with bag & board, and all for the same low price! Can't get much better than that. Crew at Maximum Comics is on point as well. Friendly, definitely knowledgeable, and geeked out on all the latest in comic book and graphic novel trends. I do notice though that they do need a person with more toy experience...hmm...you guys got an opening part-time? Eh? My services in Star Wars, Marvel Universe, and Walking Dead toys know no bounds. Recently visited on the last Free Comic Book Day, and it was a madhouse! Line out the door, Jango Fett, Donatello, and a Stormtrooper running everywhere. I think I saw Spiderman somewhere in there too. What a day of fun for the whole family! Only thing that disappoints me about Maximum Comics is that they limit their free stuff to only 5 items. Haven't done the geek thing in awhile. You know the grow up thing: family, school, work. This is considering I have like 4 war hammer armies and ridiculous amount of MTG cards (for non-geeks anyways). We stopped by today to sell a few things and were very happy with the service.Everyone in there was extremely nice and friendly.We didn't sell a lot but were happy with the deal.Upon leaving our car wouldn't start and one of the guys offered to give us a jump.So incredibly kind and saved us from waiting 1 1/2 hours for AAA...If you need to buy or sell we highly recommend this store.Great service and selection!!! read more

Great store. I am a regular at the store in the Centennial area for Friday Night Magic tournaments. The staff is always great and the crowd who comes to play magic is awesome, except for Tim and Ryan, they are the worst (just kidding, they are my friends so I can give them a little you know what). Maximum has really good prices on games and comic books. They are always running specials and promos. My only complaint is that the back room where they hold tournaments is always in a shambles. If they kept the room in better condition it would make it more inviting, a better experience and get them five stars. read more

OH MY STARS AND GARTERS ! One day removed from Free Comic Book Day, it's time to rate Maximum Comics. I remember going to a comic book store back in 2006 and I met this guy. No it wasn't your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, but it was this man name Jay who was quick to answer any questions I had about comics, and even quicker to shake my hand and say thanks for coming in. A year later the first Maximum Comics store was opened. (UP! UP! AND AWAY!) Jay hasn't slowed down since. (HI-YO SILVER... AWAY!) There are now four different Maximum Comics Stores (ATOMIC BATTERIES TO POWER. TURBINES TO SPEED) spread throughout the city of Las Vegas. Looking for that hard to find comic book? Chances are you can find it at Maximum Comics. I even saw the Superman vs Muhammad Ali special from the 1970's! (Truth, Justice, And The American Way) Down in the Maximum Wearhouse (Maximum Comics #4) I saw the entire collection of Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spiderman comics for sale as a complete collectors set! Mein Gott! It's Nightcrawler of the X-Men. Sing Cowabunga for The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Maximum Comics has statues and all sorts of collectables as well. If you wanted I bet you could find a SPOON (!) or even a statue of The Tick. Maximum Comics host special events throughout the year as well. Maximum Midnight Movies (by Crom!), at Karaoke night I am sure you could sing any song you want (Here I Come To Save The Day!) a Dinner Club (Avenger's Assemble!). Once a month or so there is a Maximum Aspiring Artists club that get together and share their artwork. (I'm The Best There Is At What I Do). In 2007 my first of two daughters was born, my comic collecting all but stopped. Myself and the family still walk into Maximum Comics from time to time, the girls love looking at The Teen Titans, Powerpuff Girls and Hello Kitty items for sale. (WONDER TWIN POWERS ACTIVATE!) Jay and his Legion Of Doom.... err.... staff at Maximum Comics, always treat my girls with the utmost of respect. Every day at Maximum Comics it's like SWEET CHRISTMAS! Right when you enter you're welcomed by a huge Hulk statue, a wonderful smell, and some of the nicest staff you'll ever meet. This store has great customer service and great deals that you can get on comics, Funko Pops or any other superhero/comic merchandise you can think of. They continually update their followers on Instagram about what's new in store and they always reply quickly to me when I ask them questions. read more

The latest and greatest from Maximum Jay :-D I have to say as a female I feel a little uncomfortable going into some comic shops....enjoying comics tend to be a guy thing. Plus the lack of knowledge on my end makes some workers get a little pissy with me. Thats not the case here, or at any other of the Maximum comic locations. Every location I walked into has always been open, clean and very friendly :-) Not to mention the places always smell AWESOME!!!! Kinda a big deal to me :-) For people that like comics and go into the shops they are familiar with the usual comic book aroma that lurks inside ;-) The other plus to this location is its wide open layout that is not only female friendly but kid friendly :-) So much goodies I can purchase for my little girl and I never received that look from the employees, that oh my dear good don't let that kid touch a thing look :-P I can browse and really get a good look at all the wonderful goodies in the store. There is a room in the back I can see maybe be used for future gamers too :-) Thats not my thing but who knows maybe it will be...comics weren't my thing before ;-) So aside from the great service, wonderful store layout, design and scent...lets talk about what Maximum Jay does for his wonderful customers :-) Pretty much monthly he has free movie viewings at Rave Theater :-) Yup! He loves us sooo much he rents a theater for his customers to watch awesome movies like He-Man Master of the Universe (which was awesome!) This month it's The Nightmare before Christmas :-) He also does little things like this past election he gave away a free comic to anyone with a I voted sticker :-) Yup! I got myself a free walking dead one shot ;-) There is so much more he does and I feel like a tool for not listing them all but I just don't have that much free time on my hands ;-) You just gotta follow him on Facebook or Twitter to get a real look into the Awesomeness that is Maximum Jay...or just go and visit him :-) He is mainly at his newest baby store 3.0...It's in the northwest in the same shopping plaza as Walmart right on Tropical,It's located next to Gamestop. The coolest little place ever for all my Spidey needs. The people that work here are super nice, even when I come skipping in like a moron and putting my grubby little fingers all over everything. I have selective reading skills so if I can't seem to find a title that's right in front of me, they politely pick it out for me! So neat! This place doesn't seem to get that busy, but I hope it sticks around. It's one of the best comic book stores I've been to and even if they don't have something you want, they offer to order it for you. I FEEL SO LOVED! read more

The 3rd Maximum Comics in the valley is so sweet, it makes me want to road trip across town to visit the first two! I popped in today to get my "Chew" fix and will definitely be back. I dig the Hulk statue, as other reviewers noted, but the rest of the décor is equally inviting and exciting. The layout of the store is really intuitive, with new issues wrapped around the outside of the store and anthologies, toys, stickers, stuffed animals and other sweet comic book swag in the center. It wasn't very busy today but Maximum Comics seems to be welcoming in fans of all types with various special events and signings. I hope they're in the process of building a serious fan base. read more

Great customer service and pretty good selection of back issues. If they had more older comics(1980s and older) in their bins I would give them 5 stars. Also, not keen on them keeping their more expensive back issues ($10 and above) behind the cash wrap. It makes it difficult to see them and I feel less inclined to bug the employees to see them just to check them out. I realize we are in Las Vegas, and there are definitely less than reputable people here, but I would buy way more of those back issues if I could easily peruse them. This has become my go to store in the area mainly for the employees. They are a good bunch and more than willing to help out (unlike my first impression of store 1). read more

Love this shop, right next to my house, I do my pull at this shop, it's clean, large, bright and organized. Lately they have been selling out of titles because more people are realizing where the new store is, but that just means I have to increase my pull! Awesome comic store also has Pop vinyl figures if you're into that. The staff is very very knowledge, they always answer my questions about pretty much all the comics I've asked. They also host board games some nights like magic the gathering etc. Their manga selection is very small so I wouldn't recommend here for that, but graphic novels on the other hand are abundant. Best comic shop in town!!! Free bags and boards, pull box is always current, military discount and a point buy system?! What's not to love! I closed my accounts with celestial and battle zone to keep a pull box at Maximum Store 3. Customer service is always superb. Today I called in and Tim was phenomenal. He was able to help me get back issues reordered, updated my subscriptions for new comics and called me back to confirm what titled I still needed. I can't stress enough how valued the customer is here and the amount of time staff dedicate truly feels as a level of it's own. I greatly recommend Maximum and will continue to do business with them as long as I am in Vegas. Thanks for everything Maximum you're the best! read more

They have customer appreciation days, midnight releases, special meet and greets plus so much more. I've wanted to visit Maximum Comics for some time but just haven't gotten around to it. Yesterday my boyfriend and I decided to just go and check it out and it was a GREAT decision. I was looking for Saga #34 and they didn't have it but the employee I spoke to (I'll get his name next time I go!) immediately called another Maximum store to have it sent to the Tropical location for me. GREAT customer service! He was also very helpful and attentive, asking us if we needed help every so often. Besides the great customer service, he was also very friendly and helped my boyfriend find some great new series he didn't know about (he's new to comics). He was also really helpful about making pull lists for the both of us ("boxes") so we can get all of our favorite series put aside for us (something I didn't know was possible)! Maximum Comics 3.0 is also a really well-kept store. It's clean, organized, bright, and welcoming. The Hulk statue when you walk in is great! Besides (the WHOLE WALL of) comics they have a good selection of Pop! vinyls, graphic novels, action figurines, clothing, and a lot more. I highly recommend Maximum Comics and they have a new customer out of me. I'll definitely be going back for all of my comic needs. I just started collecting comics in November. So I have tested the waters in a few other shops and decided to open pull box here. There are some other shops in Las Vegas that are good and some that are less desirable. However, at Maximum I feel I'm greeted with genuine hello each time. Also each employee that I have encountered will be polite ( not a given in Las Vegas), helpful, engaging, and knowledgeable. There are times when, I want to get my books and go, other times I might have questions or want to conversate about a topic. The staff here knows how to fill both rolls. I went to 2 different comic stores yesterday, and had two different experiences. There are 2 comic stores closer to my house, one I literally drive past, I know why now! My kids and I absolutely love this store! We stop in pretty much weekly just to look around even if we don't buy anything! But most times end up leaving with at least a little something! I love this comic store. Hey have a ton of current comics to check out. They also have a good selection of graphic novels and plenty of comic book merchandise. They are super friendly and I always visit them the first Saturday in May for free comic books! They have a huge statue of the Hulk inside so check him out and take a picture. read more
