This was a well prepared lunch crew. The order was put in for two egg rolls, as an appetizer My neighbor ordered the lemon chicken, which included hot and sour soup I ordered the garlic chicken, along with wonton soup The soups arrived almost immediately, and shortly thereafter came the two spring rolls. The wonton soup was perfect. Two delicate wontons, stuffed with pork, in a chicken broth that was not salty whatsoever. My neighbor said the hot and sour soup was some of the best she ever had The spring rolls were on point, slightly crispy, amazing flavor, and a perfect choice to start to the lunch experience The dinners arrived, and I saw that the beef and garlic sauce also included water chestnuts, broccoli, and a delicious brown sauce that was not too overpowering. The beef and garlic was a perfect combination with these vegetables and the gravy over rice. The rice was just perfectly sticky and delicious. Explosions of different flavors hit this dish perfectly. This was one of the best Chinese dishes I've had in a long time. Tasting the lemon chicken, the chicken was pounded extremely thin, deep-fried and served with lemon slices over the top. It was very nice. The restrooms were spotless. The enjoyment experience was off the charts as far as the ambience, food presentations, the various tastes of the food, along with the prices The vibe was perfect. For Connecticut, this has to be one of the best Chinese restaurants in the state. In simple terms, the experience was perfect. Thank you Great Taste. You show Connecticut how restaurants (and small businesses) should be run.

Lunch specials are smaller portion, but good for the price (raised to $12.95 now since my last menu photo) We split a lot of dishes because we couldn't decide: Wonton soup appetizer {4.5/5}: Loved how delicate the wontons were and the clear broth was great for a cold day. Tad too salty though. Lunch special --Braised pork belly {3/5}: Very tender, but kind of monotone in flavor. Very filling! Lunch special --Hot and sour gizzards {4.5/5}: This might freak people out in terms of texture, but I LOVE this texture. Good chew and pops of heat from the peppers and acid from the pickled green beans Lunch special --Cumin dish lamb {3/5}: kind of chewy and not as much flavor as I wished, but not bad! Chicken wings {3/5}: Crunchyyyy. Battered wings, not as much flavor as their chongqing chicken which I prefer, but not bad

Outside is very much a busy shopping plaza in not the best part of town. Inside is a completely different story. Very clean and spacious, lots of booths and tables. Decorated well and a lot to see. The staff were friendly but there was a slight language barrier. We fumbled through the menu and found some bites to try. Food came out relatively quick, and that was a bit to manage because there were a lot of plates brought rather quickly. We got pics and dug in. The bites were flavored well. Nothing felt too greasy or under seasoned. The white pepper chicken was very crispy. But not a lot of chicken on each bite. The sweet and sour soup was both sweet and sour, but balanced enough that you could keep on eating it. The dumplings were fresh noodles and the filling was spiced well. The only flop was the spare ribs. Really tasty sauce, but very little meat on the bone. Had to suck on the bones to scrape enough meat off to make it a proper appetizer. It tasted good, just was not easy to eat. Price for the area was high for the neighborhood. It's got the quality and the flavor to command that price easily, but it doesn't match the stores. It's really good, but know that you're getting the real deal sichuan experience. Expect some heat, some saucy fingers, and some bones, and you'll get some really good bites

I visited for lunch and ordered a Lunch Combo with Hunan Beef, pork fried rice and an egg roll, and I also ordered a wonton soup. They have a couple of dine in tables and I decided to eat there. Atmosphere isn't really a selling point, but the restaurant seemed clean and functional. Service was friendly and efficient. The food was a mix of good and very good. Highlights included: (1) the egg roll with a peek crispy exterior and a flavorful filling; (2) the flavor of the mildly spicy and rich brown Hunan sauce and the texture, color and variety of the vegetables (peppers, carrots, chopped baby corn, broccoli, onion, mushrooms, etc.) in the Hunan Beef; (3) the substantial wontons and tasty meat filling of the wontons in the soup; and (4) the chopped boneless spareribs type pork in the pork fried rice. Things which were not quite as good included: (1) the soup broth could have used a bit more flavor; (2) the rice in the fried rice was yellow and I tend to prefer the flavor of the fried rice style that is tan; and (3) the beef was a bit chewy in parts, although still above average for CT Chinese takeout restaurants. 4.25 Stars. A good takeout option for sure.
