We've been…read morecoming to Julio and his family for a few years now for our everyday cars and once to rebuild our family's classic car. He did a quick preliminary diagnosis and gave me a fair quote for the alternator parts and labor. A few hours later, instead of just doing the expensive repair, he called me and explained that the alternator was actually fine -- the real problem was a wire that was shorting out and causing the symptoms. The repair ended up costing significantly less than expected because they were honest enough to fix the actual issue instead of replacing parts I didn't need. I also had them change the fluids and filters while it was there. He said it looked like my spark plugs needed changing as well. Everything was completed quickly and professionally. It's hard to find shops that are this honest and transparent these days. Highly recommend Total Care Transmissions for their integrity, communication, and quality work.

Are they the cheapest? No. They use OEM Certified parts and warranty them. This gives you peace of mind in case anything happens. Yeh, those parts tend to be a little more expensive. It's still a lot cheaper than going to the dealership, and faster too. On another note: I really want to bring them pillows for their waiting room couch. It's a bit uncomfortable if you're sitting there for a while. Be prepared. There's a Starbucks a few doors down, which is nice as well, so you can grab a coffee while you wait.

I can't wait, after searching and getting quotes on Yelp, I based my selection on credible positive reviews and chose Phan Auto Repair shop in Mira Mesa. I usually go to bigger established shops, but sometimes those shops are notorious for being dishonest about parts and labor costs $$$$. And every time I take my car to a dealer for repairs, they want to buy my current car and sell me a new car, which is their mission, other than overcharge. This shop is in Mira Mesa, not fancy by any means: the waiting area was very dirty, no air conditioning, and not enough space as the seats were crammed up. My objective was to drop off my car for brakes repair and dash out. There were 3 guys working at Phan, I spoke to Dave and Lai. I had previously texted via Yelp and their response was faster than their competitors, in fact a shop across the street quoted me $300-$400 more!! They answered all my questions, concerns and after 4 hours, installed OEM brake routers, pads and sensors on my MBZ. During that time, I took a Lyft to UTC and watched a 3 hrs movie: Odyssey, had lunch and shopped. Shortly thereafter, I got a call saying my car was ready. Upon paying, I made sure my receipt clearly included a warranty. Be aware there is a 3% fee if you pay with a credit card. But I was glad new brakes routers, pads and scensors were installed at a reasonable price. Thanks to Yelp and Yelpers reviews about this shop. Glad there is no brake squeak and will keep my fingers crossed about this recent brake work as I had an overall positive experience from this great shop Phan's Auto Repair.

Sparks told me "look, it's been strong for the last 130k miles, all you need is a stock rebuild to get you another (at least) 120k miles" I don't tow anything with it, it has an intake and exhaust, no power adders leveled in 35's. It's not a monster truck doing heavy hauling. It's been about 2 months so far and it rejuvenated my love for the truck...now if I can afford the fuel bill to drive it But it came with a 3 year 36k mile warranty and they said if anything happens just bring it in and they'll take care of it. Oh, almost forgot. I had some upgraded parts and new parts to install and they did that for no extra charge when they put it back together .

It took about a week to complete the work and the cost was more reasonable than at the MBZ dealer where they quoted me triple the amount. I brought in my Honda Ridgeline for an issue with my AC. Jason worked with me at the front-desk and went above and beyond to understand my issue and the troubleshooting I had already done. He explained to me CONCISELY what the feasible issue may be, and how they were going to approach a diagnosis. Jason was extremely knowledgeable, and followed up promptly to discuss the fix. Pedro was also exceptional. He found the issue (rodent-chewed wires) and repaired it perfectly. When I picked up my car, he was as excited as I was to have helped me. Before Miramar Auto, I took my truck to the Honda dealer, and they charged twice as much for a diagnosis, only to tell me that I would need a new compressor (incorrect diagnosis) and that it would cost twice as much as I ended up paying out the door at Miramar auto. I couldn't believe how easy Miramar Auto made it. To say that Jason, Pedro, and Miramar Auto are honest, fair, and made me feel taken care of... would be an understatement. Mercedes was quoting me $2600 to fix the air shocks on my 08 E550 Mercedes. I searched Yelp and found these guys. Dealt mainly with Joe and within an hour he was able to source all the parts and provided me with a accurate quote, he was very knowledgeable. I was happy with the quote and set a time to drop the car off. Dropped my car on a Monday and had the car back with the repairs before 5PM. After all the service was completed Joe himself exited the office and detailed the car and vacuumed the interior. I have owned German cars for some time and I haven't received this type of service EVER. Even Mercedes or BMW has let me down a few times with their customer service. After all was said and done I saved about 40% of my money by going with these guys. The car rides as if it was new with no problems yet. I was extremely pleased to have received this type of service from a small business. Shop was very clean, waiting lounge was roomy and filled with current magazines, 50 inch or so LED tv with Netflix hooked up I was able to catch a movie that I have been wanting to see, the staff was extremely professional and helpful and the service was bar none the best I have received EVER from a automotive shop. I definitely would recommend these guys and I will be back for future services. The only thing I would recommend is to add more signage to the building as it was a little tough trying to narrow down the location due lack of name placement on the outside of the building. read more

Just wanted to leave a quick review for Dragonfly Automotive. These guys are phenomenal. The customer service is above and beyond anything I've ever encountered. My wife and I are from Colorado, and were visiting San Diego for a little vacation. Car broke down 90 miles outside town. Julio (the gm) kept the shop open after hours for us to wait for out tow service. By the next day we had a full run down of all issues, fair and competitive prices, time frame for all repairs.... they also hooked us up with an unbelievable car rental rate to get around SD while the repairs were done. The car is in perfect condition, all repairs were done at a very good price, and the entire time I was secure in the knowledge that I made the right choice in coming to these guys. They quite literally saved my car and my vacation, and I'll always be grateful for that. I've used lots of mechanics over the years on lots of different cars. I have been used Dragonfly Auto for years now. They have serviced 3 different vehicles of mine and I have always received the best customer service and prices. I've shopped around on the quotes I have received from them and they are always the cheapest. I have also referred several friends and family to Glenn who have always told me they were very pleased. Most recently, I sent my grandfather there who wasn't happy with his mechanic. He felt that his mechanic was over-charging him and trying to get him to fix things that were not necessary. After Dragonfly looked at his car they came back with a much lower quote for the work that needed to be done and also pointed out some things that were not necessary. Overall, I feel that Dragonfly is a very trustworthy and affordable auto service. read more

I am visiting from out of town (Seattle) and my check engine light came on with a severe error. We are planning to travel back to Seattle in three days and all of the Lexus dealers couldn't get my car in for a week or more. I was referred to DragonFly and my experience has been very good. The first guy I talked with (Julio) was very helpful and said he could get me in the next day. He met me at the entrance and walked me through what they would do. They had my car for 24 hours and reset the code and said the testing they had done indicated that everything was fine. They charged me $0 and sent me on my way. Dragonfly Auto was recommended to me by a friend and is absolutely awesome! I'm not originally from SD so I didn't really know where to take my car. Being a girl I've also had my fair share of dishonest auto-body's and mechanics. Everyone at Dragonfly is great and they really go above and beyond to take care of you. I had my car appraised by a place my insurance co recommended but decided to try Dragonfly instead. They fixed it in half the time, fixed a few extra things for me, kept in contact and always told me what was going on and made it sparkling clean! Glen was great and the whole process was seamless. Took my car in for some issues. Stored it for a week while they did some run around to find out prices for replacement parts and possible warranty extensions from the dealer. Charged me nothing. Explained to me that it was so bad they recommended I put the money for repairs into a new car. 100% more helpful then the dealership that said I only need an oil change and charge me $100 for the privilege. The honesty in the options available to me and the willingness to work with me where amazing and refreshing in this otherwise frustrating process. 10/10 Will return. Originally brought my truck in for a radiator sensor smog and sparkplugs julio was very honest with me up front about any issues that could or could not be solved they take the time to fix the underlining issue and thats not asking for money up front. Julio was able to work the cost to repair my transmission without adding any extra charges im very impressed with the professionalism and over all concern to actually find the issue and resolve.it prices are fair amd they are up front i deff recommend these guys to any first timers looking for a honest fair pricing professional mechanic again thanks guys for your help. read more

I moved to Arizona last year, but still bring my cars to Dragonfly Automotive for repairs. I don't trust anyone else with my vehicles and it is worth the 6 hour drive. All the workers are friendly and customer service oriented...but Luis has always been my point of contact. He is genuinely one of the nicest people I have met!!! I have an older Audi and the service at the dealership was awful. I brought the car to Tom at Dragonfly and he explained and fixed everything for much less than what Audi proposed. They also fixed a cosmetic issue inside the car without my asking. They were honest about every repair and did not charge extra for labor when they were already working on the car. My alternator broke down and was towed to this place by USAA. I had called two other shops for quotes on my way there. Tom Gilmore and Julio Campos gave excellent customer service and for 70 dollars less than what I was quoted for just the alternator at other places took care of that, an oil change and replaced a parking light and even worked with me on the payment option. Unlike Chrysler Jeep Dodge which was pretty vague in their report (took for a diagnosis because we were just out of the warranty period - and maybe they're bound by corporate somewhat) Robert's Auto made me feel at ease that I was in the right place. Christian and team were spot on in letting me know what could be the issue, kept me in the loop on diagnosis, and timeline. Explained everything in detail as to what sounds I was hearing, why, etc. Pro-tip: Have an issue with your vehicle, but not sure what it is? Call ahead and setup an appointment so you can be sure they have time set aside for you and are ready.

While I never did business with Robert's, I bought a Miata with 112k miles that was serviced by…read morethem. All I can say is what a mess. The CarFax shows possible mileage rollback on this vehicle because their techs added an extra 30k miles to the odometer at one of the visits. It jumped from 90k to 112k in 3 months, and then back down to 94k 3 months later when serviced elsewhere. The PO also got a clutch replacement with them at 109k and since then it had 5th gear grind which is why I was able to buy the car for a cheap price. I drained the transmission fluid and found metal chunks all over the drain plug magnet from the synchro getting worn down. I filled it with the proper GL-4 lubricant and the grind got much better. I can now shift into 5th most of the time without grinding. They probably used GL-5 lube which has much more additives and properties meant for differentials. I've dived deeper into the car and found a loose slave clutch hardline bolt as well as a loose bell housing to engine bolt. The Miata has 1 very long bell housing bolt that needs to go on the exhaust hanger side. They put this bolt on the opposite side (passenger side) near the starter and left it sticking out 1 inch so it was pinching the engine harness. If the owner reads this please get your staff to pay a little more attention to the details because they absolutely matter.

Did I mention the car is old? I'm not spending $1000 on repairs. So I was looking on Yelp and found M & C. Seemed too good to be true. An auto shop with so many 5 star reviews? I drove in to see what they thought - Victor took care of the problem in less than 5 minutes. I have lived nearby for 30 years, driven past this place hundreds of times without noticing it. I just wish I had found Victor and M & C Auto a couple of decades ago.

You might up paying for 2 tow bills like I did, a lost day, and the headache of finding another shop/time off work. I called at 9am to have the fuel lines replaced on my 68 Chevelle. Marcos told me they would look it at, had the time, and asked me to have it towed in right away. I arranged and paid for a tow to their shop, and Marcos confirmed they received it at 11am. I stopped by at lunch to meet him in person, add a few items like FiTech reset and parking brake adjustments, and he said the techs would get to it and he'd have an estimate by END OF DAY. No call from Marcos, so I called him at 4:30. Nothing had been done. No assessment, no techs looked at it, and when I asked so why did he have me tow it in, the conversation went sideways and he said "Maybe you should take it somewhere else" and that they'd push it outside and I could pick it up! My issue is not that the shop is busy (they all tell you that) - the issue is I paid for it to be towed in because he said they'd take a look at it and have an assessment by end of day. When I called him at 4:30, nothing had been done and I was met with the attitude/tone to take it somewhere else. I was pretty stuck having already paid for the tow there, and asked if they would get to it tomorrow, and he refused to answer and left me with no choice but to pick it up. Mission Auto gets great reviews - I'm not disputing that. That's the very reason I reached out to them. But I have to balance it with my very bad experience, so bad that this is my first yelp review. Warning: *especially if you tow your car to them, have them stick to their assessment timelines (not the fix, just the estimate). Towing it there means you are "stuck" so they don't have to stick to their word. The result can be a lost day, two tow bills and more headache/time off work to have it go to another shop because they won't acknowledge they missed the timeline THEY promised, and when challenged, will leave your car and keys at the door.
