In the hopes of ordering a cake from the ladies who did my wedding cake (Celebrity Cakes) for my 23rd anniversary, I found out about Dragonfly Cakes! Shipping a whole cake would've been hard and unreliable, so I was excited to see this tea cake option... and that they could personalize the little cakes with pictures!! I'm in Georgia, and the ladies were very responsive and worked with me to get exactly what I wanted, both in flavor and in design!! Angela and MaryAnn were patient and just altogether awesome! They were clear on what they could and could not do, and were great about my choices of flavors and design. SUPER HAPPY with how the cakes turned out, the time it took to get the cakes, and the taste!! I ordered chocolate, lemon, & pistachio cakes, which weren't all listed online, but they were able to do it anyway. The flavors aren't overwhelming, which's good, and they were delicious! Heavens to Betsey is this place serving some delicious treats! I ordered a selection of petits fours that were all in a Summer variety, so Apricot, Raspberry, Lemon, Vanilla-Orange. I am not kidding you when I say these little treats were so delicious they are arguably some of the best treats I have had all year! The frosting is light and melts in your mouth. The cake is moist and fluffy-perfect. The fruity filling is light, fresh and just divine. She works off hours right now due to the slow season but she is super helpful and willing to work around your schedule. Absolutely lovely petits-fours! I had originally ordered a 24-pc box of petits-fours, and then got greedy and decided on another 8-pc to make it a set of 32 lovelies. If I remember correctly, the flavours I got were vanilla, chocolate, raspberry, and lemon. They were freshly made to order and you could definitely tell from each and every one of those delectable all-too-ephemeral bites. The cake was moist, the sandwiched frosting delectable and light, while the fondant crust cracked softly under the pressure of your teeth slowly sinking into these tiny parcels of joy! I actually ordered the all-occasion petits fours from Costco (4 dozen for $74.99 which includes 2nd day shipping). It was definitely a lot more economical than ordering from Dragonfly's website. Since it is a special item made for Costco, the petits fours looked a little different than the ones listed on the Dragonfly website. (They're square, not diamond shaped and the designs were flowers and squiggly circles). The best part, however, was the order consisted of all 4 flavors (raspberry, vanilla-orange, lemon, and hazelnut). I got these for my sister's bridal shower and they were a big hit. Everyone thought they were so cute :) The only petit four I had the opportunity of tasting was the hazelnut one and it was delicious and moist. The frosting was not too overpowering and sweet. I also had a chance to talk to a Dragonfly employee on the phone and she was extremely helpful and nice. (There was a mix-up with the tracking number on my order). read more

These are a truly special treat. Not only are they presented perfectly, they taste as good as well... My favorite is the Vanilla-Orange (think orange creamsicle), but you will also find me eating the Chocolate (which is odd, because I don't normally like chocolate), Apricot and Lemon flavors. Then I was introduced to Dragonfly Cakes and have a new found appreciation for these delectable creations. I've since kept my eyes open and have been fortunate to find Dragonfly Cakes at many different events this past year- b-day parties, weddings, work parties... Though food quality and customer service are usually a hard combination to find Brooks and her crew have mastered both. Petit fours? Little 3 bite cakes of varying flavors that I can have 3 or 4 of in one sitting before I start to overload on the sweet stuff? Hecks yes! Dragonfly cakes are still some of my absolute favorite cakes in the whole wide world. I went to a couple wedding fairs and what not where they had booths and I kept gravitating back to their booth so that I could try more of their divine treats. Now you can order some and have them shipped to you, or you can pick them up if you feel like making the trek out to Sausalito yourself. I haven't even eaten the petits fours yet, but I am still giving Dragonfly 5 stars because of how lovely Brooke - the owner (I assume she is the owner) - is. I called her to order some petits fours, which I love, for my 40th birthday party. She was easy going and helpful on the phone, and when I finally decided that I would spend the extra $15 to have them UPS'd to me and gave Brooke my address, she offered to drop them off because my work is near her home. I was having a bad day and it was just such a NICE offer. When we finally coordinated drop off, the petits fours (numbered 1-40) looked beautiful, she made me an extra pink one just for me, AND made a handful of additional ones for my kids. I just really appreciated that kind of customer service, and I was having a really crappy week too, so it was really just what I needed. I have no doubt they taste great, but I'll find out for sure tomorrow. read more

I jumped on a Groupon opportunity to try Dragonfly's tiny goods and was very happy I did. The place is hidden in a non-descript office/warehouse setting, but upon opening the door, its like walking into the petit-four Willy Wonka factory with warm smells of baking filling the air. The petit fours were beautifully decorated and even better tasting. My coworkers were impressed with flavors, texture, and over taste of these little gems. They are a little pricey, but worth it. They make the best petite fours and I would use them for a gift or a wedding cake. I saw the most amazing selection. Much better than a large frumpy cake. The fillings were to die for!!! Another amazing super fun class! We assembled a four layer cake, crumb coat with buttercream and covered with fondant that we rolled out. I even mixed my own pale yellow shade of fondant and decorated with fondant leaves and flowers that we made. If I could make a pretty cake at Dragonfly anybody can. I suggest doing a bit of research ahead of time so you have an idea of what kind of design you'd like to make as I felt overwhelmed trying to decide on the fly. read more

I used their bridal petit fours in-lieu of wedding cake for an intimate ceremony aboard our charter boat. The woman on the phone was friendly and helpful. I was able to customize the order and gave our clients what they wanted. They added chocolate to the mix and decorated them with the bride & groom's initials, all for $1 extra. I picked them up two days in advance and they thawed perfectly (I put them on a plate and covered it with plastic wrap). It was one of those things I thought I'd never be able to do by myself, but after taking the class I tried it out at home and managed to do some for my children and they loved them. I first received these cakes as a gift and they were hand delivered to my house because the gift giver was late and I happened to live in Sausalito and this business actually offered to hand deliver them to me!! That is not the norm for this business of course, (please don't expect that!!) but I mention it only because it illustrates how fantastic their customer service is. They go out of their way to please their customers AND the cakes are delicious, the quality is always consistent, and the packaging superb. I have been a loyal customer ever since. They make great gifts for mothers, teachers, grandmothers, anniversaries, new home owners, and the like. The bite size pieces means your recipient can enjoy the pleasure of the cakes, without spoiling their diet so they are pretty much perfect for anyone! I can't review how it taste. However, i can tell you they are the worst, incompetent, irresponsible business owner EVER! I purchased 2 cake decoration classes for me and my friend. Was super excited and ecstatic about the class. After purchasing it through Living Social when my vouchers was ready to use. I call ASAP the following day and book our class (the first available day which was 2 months out). Then the day before the class, Dragonfly Cake people called and CANCEL the class ...because she said not enough participant. That was super RUDE and inconsiderate not to mention she call the day before the class. However, she did apologized and said no matter what happen the next class regardless of the class size she will not cancel on us again. WELL she did it again!!! not because of a family emergency but her own personal live. OK, this is the most pathetic business i have ever encounter. I ordered 60 boxed, monogrammed petit fours to hand out to friends and family following the birth of our baby. The birth got moved up suddenly, and consequently I placed the order 2 days before she arrived.
