Absolutely unacceptable experience. My wife ordered a special cake for my college graduation--a major milestone for our family--and this shop completely ruined it. She visited the shop a month in advance and showed them a clear photo of the exact design she wanted. English is her second language, but there should have been no confusion: they were given a visual reference, accepted the order, and charged approximately $185. Then, just one day before pickup, they sent her a photo of the finished cake--and it looked nothing like the design they had agreed to make. This was not a minor detail, a slightly different color, or a misspelled name. The entire design was wrong. What they produced looked like a basic grocery-store cake worth a fraction of what she paid, not a professionally designed $185 custom graduation cake. Instead of immediately taking responsibility, apologizing, and trying to make it right, they repeatedly hid behind the invoice--which my wife never signed--and made excuses. If the invoice didn't accurately reflect the reference photo, their staff should have clarified that before accepting payment and making the cake. No one contacted her to discuss limitations, substitutions, or design changes. They simply made something completely different and expected her to accept it. After several frustrating phone calls, we finally received a refund. However, a refund one day before the event does not solve the problem. We are now left without a graduation cake for a party we spent weeks planning because this business failed to communicate, failed to deliver what it accepted payment for, and then refused to honestly own its mistake. I fully expect the owner may respond by blaming the invoice, but that excuse does not hold up. When a customer provides a clear reference photo, the business agrees to the order, and no one communicates that the design cannot be completed, the responsibility belongs to the business--not the customer. Mistakes happen. What reveals a business's character is how it responds. This shop's lack of accountability and professionalism made an already serious mistake even worse. The reason for 3 stars is mainly the vibe. I went to pick up a Too Good To Go order, and after they handed me my items, I kind of got the "why are you still here?" feeling. So when my mom turned 50, I had them make me a custom LV birthday cake with a zipped opening up to whiskey airplane bottles. The execution was perfect! The customer service was very nice and the cakes are just stunning. But they taste like Costco :( not sure what they are doing. Maybe using high fructose corn syrup instead of sugar? I will absolutely come to them for all my cake needs in the future. My daughter wanted an Emo cake for her birthday. This is the email I sent them without the pictures... She would like an EMO cake. Black chocolate "frosting" on black chocolate cake. With a strawberry purée between the layers so it looks like it is bleeding when you cut it open. With an EMO Grimace (purple guy from McDonalds). See the attached photos: A cake of chocolate on chocolate as deep brown or black as you can get it with (strawberry/blackberry/raspberry whichever is easiest) compote. The out side would be a purple sided black topped cake with the Grimace with the boys emo hair. I hope I'm describing this right. They sent me back a mock up and it was amazing. I had to move up the date a whole week due to an ordering mishap by her dad and they accommodated the request with no problems. The studio was amazingly clean and bright/cheery. Pick up was easy and the cake was packed so as it didn't move for the whole hour it had to travel. May daughter absolutely loved the cake and it was absolutely delicious.
