Went there on Sunday November 17 at 1:45pm. Only four other people in the bar. My group of three sat there for 15 minutes waiting to at least be acknowledged. The two female bartenders just stood behind the bar chatting away, never once even looking in our direction. We finally got up and left. Went to a much nicer bar down the block. I am so sad writing this review. This place has a great atmosphere and a fun setup. When my friends and I first walked in we sat right down at the bar and received attention from the male bartender right away. He made GREAT drinks, we tipped heavily. Then he was moved to the back bar. We finished our drinks and prepared to order another round. The female bartender ignored us for more than 30 minutes after our drinks were emptied and pushed forward. I joked to her about how she was all alone, and she said she could handle it just fine. Bye she failed to ask us if we needed another round. She never looked to meet my eyes that were trying to meet hers. After more than 40 minutes, my friends and I decided to leave. We were really sad bc we live in the neighborhood and this could have been a great new regular spot. Definitely disappointed, but only in the service. read more

Came to Draught 55 with a friend before watching a movie. Extensive beer list is always a plus. We got the house brew and it was excellent. We also ordered the nachos and spicy buffalo wings. I felt like it was average bar food, nothing over the top in terms of flavors (it was a huge pile of nachos though). There is an amazing selection of draghts and bottled beers & amazing food! Great spot for casual after work drinks and food. Really great happy hour. Wasn't crowded on a Wednesday night. Also, they have a large enclosed back patio. Really cool spot, close enough to Times Square, yet kinda tucked away on a side street. Almost like if you weren't specifically going there you may not even notice it. The food was unbelievably good, service was excellent, Very good vibe, excellent choice of draft beers. Stopped in for lunch with my friend who frequents this place. They usually have lunch specials that include a beer or cider. I decided to try one of their burgers instead. Opted for the Guinness burger which was really good. Very much enjoyed the chipotle and crispy onion combo. And the friends are darn good too. My friend loved her food and cider as well. Mmmm.......Beeeeer. So much beer. The beer list itself takes up two pages. I might have to revisit this place over and over to try them all! I recently dropped in here with a friend to catch up on things. Epic beer list! $5 happy hour with a select list of brews, cocktails, wine until 8pm daily. I do wish they offered more selection for the beers during HH, as only having a few available considering the monster beer list was kind of lame. With the amount of beer on tap I am sure they could add a few more for HH. Make it happier! Yet, we found a tasty amber ale that we ordered and even went for seconds. Terrific atmosphere, decor, and outside back patio. It has a classic rustic bar feel to it. The service was friendly enough. There is a long bar with plenty of seats, but to sit at a table in the dining room area, even the 2-person high tops, food is required to be ordered from a server. Eclectic menu of food items some made with beer as an ingredient. We just wanted a few snacks so went with the mozzarella sticks which came with a smoky flavored sauce dip - yum! Also got the hummus and pita plate. Pretty good and the pitas were warm which is always a plus. Our server checked in now and then, and took good care of us. Prices seemed decent overall. Gets crowded and noisy after work hours. We arrived at 5pm and it was empty. By 6pm it was jam packed! Best bet for locals is to hit it later at night, or on weekends when the work crowd is not around. I come by here once and a while and really enjoy the place. It's clean and food is great with good prices. I have recently got my supervisor to keep taking us here so it's even nicer I'm not paying for it. The lunch deal can't be beat. You won't be disappointed. Staff is dead on too. Ambiance: typical NY bar scene with a cute back room perfect for an outdoor/indoor vibe. Seriously you can bring any of your friends to this place! Whoever is running this place truly loves beer. Not only do they have a legitimately fantastic draft list AND an extensive selection of bottles as well, but they also use all this delicious beer in their surprisingly stellar food as well. The Smoked Chipotle Porter from Stone (perhaps my new favorite beer) flavors their BBQ wing sauce. The fried pickles are soaked in Founder's Ale. The Scotch Egg comes with a Racer 5 mustard sauce. The mussels are steamed with Fire Island Ale. And so on. What's more is that this isn't just a gimmick; everything we tried was actually very, very tasty. The pork belly, despite being a terrible thing to share with six other dudes, was amazingly flavorful. The nachos were quite good. And the burger (with bacon and blue cheese) was great, despite being a bit overcooked. I suppose I should mention that it's not the cheapest bar around, but (1) it's in Midtown Manhattan and (2) did you listen to everything I just said? Eating all this beer-flavored food while throwing back a wide variety of interesting and well-curated beers in their beautiful atrium in the back AND watching the World Cup? Life is good. read more

Does this thing go up to six stars? Because, seriously, Draught 55 should get at least six stars. So after my prior review, I ended up talking to a manager at Draught 55 who was incredibly gracious and helpful in setting up a Beer Club meetup with me. It was a pleasure dealing with her and I looked forward to the event, thinking it would be a nice evening. I was wrong, folks. Dead wrong. It wasn't a nice evening. No, it was a fan-FREAKING-tastic evening! I could not ask for anything more in a venue that hosts beer club. First of all, Katrina (and later Caroline) were the nicest, most helpful, friendliest and , dare I say, most attractive managers I've ever dealt with. They made the entire group feel right at home. I received comments all night about what a great beer selection the place had, how nice it was, how people liked the flowers on the table, etc. I felt guilty receiving all the compliments because it was 100% the goal of the Draught 55 team to make all the guests feel welcome. Everyone had a wonderful time. The folks at Draught 55 were delightful to work with. If you haven't been here, then you need to do yourself a favor and get your ass here. If you are planning something with a group, give Katrina a call and set it up and she'll take care of you, for sure. Beer Club loves this place and you will too. Can't wait to do another event here. If you're in the area, Draught is clearly one of your best options for craft beer. Their ever rotating list includes something for everyone as well as some harder to find beers (maybe not so hard in all of NYC, but the type of beer that might only be in a handful of places in the city). Definitely a little bro-y. Lots of groups. It can definitely get pretty loud. The bartender was nice and let me take a taste of a couple of beers without being particularly bothered by it. Met a friend at Draught 55 for happy hour and I was quite pleased. The service was great. The food was superb! I mean considering it's bar food of course. We had the calamari and the porterhouse smokey BBQ wings. We enjoyed both and it was very filling. They have $5 drinks for happy hour including wine, beer and well drinks. I picked this after-work watering hole because of the proximity to the office; the fact that it offered beer, wine, and cocktails; the bar snacks and pretzels looked yum; and it seemed like it would be relatively quiet in comparison to a place like the Smith. Also the prices were a bit lower than Crimson & Rye, my back-up. Well. Even on a Tuesday night, the place was deafeningly loud, to the point where I couldn't hear the person one seat away. Perhaps we came at the slightly later end of 6:30 when it seems this place filled up much earlier. I would also like to give a shout-out to this place for holding onto our 10-person table and quickly/efficiently ushering away the lingerers who plopped themselves down right when we got there. There's nothing like hearing a stern demand to relocate tables delivered in a hard Irish brogue. My first cocktail was a bust - some mixture of egg whites and smoked tequila. To her credit, the waitress did give me a heads-up that the taste might be a little funky and she was completely right. The food was delicious. I'm never one to complain over bar snacks. Recommend: the smoked hummus with pita and crudites if you're in the mood for something a bit lighter, and the apricot beer glazed pretzel if you seriously want to enjoy life. You'll never see the flourless chocolate cake coming but you'd be happy you took my word - the candied ginger and peanuts sprinkled around are 10/10. The standard tomato/cheese flatbread fell a bit flat when I went to take a bite and ended up dragging the whole slice of tomato off in one wet plop. Definitely would come back, maybe even for a lunch. read more

Huge craft draft and bottle beer selection, but they didn't have in stock what I originally wanted (an Icelandic lager). The cheapest bottle/draft is $7 and some of the bigger bottles go for $25+. Very cool authentic pub ambience. We stopped here on the way to dinner and tried the hand cut fries to hold us over. We couldn't resist after seeing them paired with a good-looking burger the guy next to us had ordered. Delicious, but the bartender initially forgot to ring in the one food item we ordered. Great happy hour bar. My friend and I had a couple of drinks with our appetizer dinners. I ordered the deliciously cheesy nachos and she ordered wings. We were super full. They also have a really nice room in the back, we peeked in but there was a private party going on. The decor was really nice. They have a GREAT beer list, and the bartender was very knowledgeable matching my tastes with something new. Came across this bar when the boyfriend and I were strolling around Lexington. It was a Saturday night and around dinner time, we were looking for a casual bar to sit and chat. This was the perfect place to be at. The space is plenty, they have the usual bar area and also dinner seating area, but also in the back, more of a louder, bar scene. The atmosphere was great. You have groups of friends that were just here to chitchat and catch up, groups of family to catch bar food, and you have couples just enjoying each other's company. Every Saturday, they have their "Happiest Hour" from 8 to 9pm where you would find $5 craft beer specials. They have a nice list of craft beer, not all are $5 but the typical 12-16oz pours typically between $8-10 are good to order. For beer lovers who like IPAs and stouts, this is a good place for you. This special applies anywhere you sit. They also have cocktails that are pretty interesting. There are some bourbon and gin based. $14 a glass. Their appetizers are on a bit pricier side but it probably won't disappoint. We ordered the flash fried calamari and it was impressive - crispy at the right spots. read more

The ambience is casual but nice at the same time. The food is average pricing (maybe slightly above) but the quality and quantity is great. We both got burgers and loved them both. Came to Draught 55 with a small group during happy hour. Apparently you can make reservations for the tables, but we didn't know so we were over standing by the bar area. They have an extensive beer list and also meads, hard ciders, and even spiked Kombucha (which was awesome btw). I've been to Draught 55 before for happy hour. It was cool, but I had never felt the need to return. That was about a year ago. I honestly was disappointed with the fried pickles, but nothing bad happened. Well yesterday, my manager wanted to take us to lunch and we ended up here. This time around was a different experience because it was lunch time and i actually ordered a meal. They have a boss ass lunch special which is an entree and a beer for $10. Like wtf. I was so excited! Lol. I got the pesto penne pasta with chicken and a cider. Overall both were amazing. I polished them both off. Like literally, probably would have licked my plate had no my mother not raised me better than that. If you're in the midtown area, definitely stop by for lunch. Great when you have a large group since you can book a table in advance so you know you'll have seats to relax in after a long day. Winner for those who love chicken fingers with their beer :) This is like an adult version. If you feel overwhelmed by the beer selections, you can get the tasting flight. Great price and you get pretty good tasting sizes. From there you can narrow down to what you like or get another flight of different beers! Happy hour is lively and gets pretty packed. A lot of bars in this area tend to be on the bro-y side so Draught 55 took me by surprise! Shame that I live two blocks away and never wandered in. It's a lot nicer than Midtown East's nightlife spots, and the beer menu is quite extensive. I went on a Saturday night and it was packed but there wasn't an obnoxious line out the door. The bartenders are great and super attentive too. Warning, it gets crowded fast, but I guess that's a good think because this is a solid drinking spot for all you beer lovers out there! I came here and experienced great service and food. The only thing wrong was that the drinks that were listed on the brunch menu weren't being served. The server/bartender came by and said that they don't have the ingredients for most og the brunch drinks. If that's the case then update your menu or offer something else. Unto the food part, I couldn't decide on what to order. I finally chose steak and eggs. I was hesitant on choosing that since it was so overly priced. Presentation was nice, but I could probably make this at home. Next time, I'll just go for the drinks and hangout in the back area as it's really nice. Truly terrible service is the biggest issue here. My boyfriend and I came in for lunch during an off-hour (2:30pm) and it took over 15 minutes for someone to take our order. Then it took forever for even our drinks to arrive... and then, while we were waiting for our food to come out, we ran out of water, and no one came to refill our glasses. I wound up going to the bar to ask for a bottle of water after we waited, thirsty and hungry, for another 10 or so minutes. We got beer (him) and cider (me). Both were fine--the cider was $8 for 16oz, and the beer was $10 for 8oz (I assume it was a harder to source beer). In all fairness to Draught 55, when our food finally arrived, it was pretty good. His burger and fries were both great (the fries were seriously delicious). My duck breast, while slightly overdone, was well-balanced in flavors, with a fantastic cherry gastrique. However, service is important to me, and I have to give a poor rating for service as slow as today's was. read more
