My wife and I were in town this weekend and stayed around the corner. The name got us in on Friday night and the drinks were fantastic. We went back for brunch today and it was fantastic. My wife had the omelette and I had the croissant sandwich. Both were great. I had the boozy coffee and my wife had the bottomless mimosas. Drinks were perfect. Staff was beyond amazing. Love a good Irish brogue. Reminds me of my departed grandmother. Only negative? They have awesome tshirts, but they didn't have many sizes and you can't order them on the website. I am going to preface this with the fact that I was starving having traveled all day by plane and went straight to a Broadway show and this was close to our hotel. This was one of the best gems I could have found! There was a loud and lively bar area but the waitress/hostess was able to seat us outside and did a great job of not forgetting about us. We got: - fried cauliflower: I feel like the batter was interesting and not what I'm used to. It felt too thick and it was a weird yellowish color. Beyond the odd coating, it wasn't bad. - grilled shrimp salad bowl: they forgot to put this in so this came out later than our other 2 things. This was probably my favorite thing we ordered. It was perfectly coated with dressing and the grilled shrimp was actually seasoned so it had flavor. - Buffalo chicken nachos: this was really big. It had guacamole at the top. Super friendly, great conversation, and he made sure our $26 bottomless mimosas were constantly refilled without us having to ask. Top-tier service! The vibe here is cozy and energetic. There's a small porch with about four tables -- very "New York small" -- plus upstairs, downstairs, and sidewalk seating. It's a tight space but doesn't feel cramped, just lively and welcoming. For food, we all tried something different. I had the chicken and waffles (my go-to brunch pick), and it was delicious. Much more desirable inside, great sports-bar/ local hang out type atmosphere, where everyone is welcome. Super friendly staff and very attentive. They don't take allergies seriously and then make you pay for your meal anyway. I went for brunch, and despite the menu having a GF icon on the bottom, absolutely no items were marked GF. I had a conversation with the waitress about what was safe to eat, as this is an allergy not a preference. I ordered the omelette that came with potatoes and she offered a side salad to replace the potatoes. Actually she initially said the potatoes were GF and then of course when I asked about cross contamination I learned they weren't fine. I also asked for two items from the 5 item omelette to be removed. My dish arrived with both potatoes and salad and the food runner wasn't there long enough for me to even say anything even though I started to. I took a couple bites of my omelette, being sure to avoid what was touching potatoes. I noticed it had only one ingredient in it (onions) so certainly didn't taste good. I ended up not eating anything on my plate. We weren't checked on again until the meal was over. When it came time to clear the plates, I told the waitress about the multiple errors. She offered to make me something else for no charge. I declined since my party was already done eating and also she told us our seating time was almost up. So not sure how that would have worked anyway. Then she brings the check and of course my meal is on it. I didn't want to be in an awkward position to ask them to remove the meal I couldn't eat. So I had to not only pay for it but then tip minimum 20%, as I could hardly reach the credit card machine they hold out across the table for you, let alone change the tip to be anything other than the pre selected 20-25%. Great place!! Upon being seated, one of the staff noticed my table was a little wobbly. Immediately, he took it upon himself to grab something to stabilize the table for me. It seems like a small gesture but made all the difference for me, and it was nice how it was an immediate gesture upon seeing the table wobble. The food and service were both great, we ended up staying longer than we thought and not once were we rushed.
