My favorite craft beer bar in NY I've visited. Always an amazing tap list of local beers with beers from around the country mixed in. The owners clearly have some connections in the beer distribution world. Hill Farmstead, Other Half, Hudson Valley Brewery, LIC, etc etc etc are all regulars on the tap list. My non-craft beer drinking wife likes it too because they usually have prosecco, wine, and local ciders available. Oh, and they have a great selection of bourbons now too from local distilleries and some of the more common favorites. Food is great too. Constantly changing menu from simple, delicious bar food like buffalo wings to more creative dishes like Moroccan meatballs. Something for everyone. Environment is chill and laid back. The bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly. If there is a sports game on you want to watch, they'll turn it on for you. The place doesn't feel like a sports bar though as the TV are not front and center but still a great place to have a beer and watch some of the game. Perfect spot to come to after hiking Mt. Beacon or if you're just out around Beacon. Def worth a visit. read more

Went to Beacon for a weekend with my best friend and one of our favorite parts of the weekend was the evening we spent at Draught Industries. The staff was very attentive, knowledgeable, and kind, and the selection was fantastic! They had great music playing, and they were able to handle big crowds of people with ease. Big fan! Great vibe, knowledgeable staff and that's just the start. These guys offer more goodness than any one place should. Bountiful libations from various local"ish" craft brewers and a solid menu to boot. One of the coolest pieces of info from the staff, the restaurant is actually an old alleyway that was developed to create the establishment. Wow, this place is amazing. I wish I lived closer. My sister & I found this place on Yelp as we were driving through NY. After reading all of the positive reviews, we decided to stop in. The interior has a really cool industrial vibe. There's exposed brick, beautiful old wood bar, & industrial pipes that make up the tap area. The tap list was incredible, especially if you love IPA's like I do. They had at least 5 DIPAs on tap that were from awesome breweries like Equilibrium Hill Farmstead, Tired Hands, etc. We also ordered food which was delicious. I was really impressed by this place & I hope to be able to visit again soon. I just read the review from September where someone wrote that the Truffle fries were bland? I have no idea where that came from. Our Parmesan Truffle fries were amazing. You must order them! As a bonus, when we were leaving, we decided to drive down main street. It's a really cute main street with cute shops, cool restaurants, wine bars, etc. This would be a great town to spend a long weekend at. read more

Great selection that rotates regularly. Good place to go if you want to be introduced to beers you wouldn't normally be able to walk into a store and buy. They also have a fantastic and obscure whiskey list. The bar food dishes are tasty and most of them are made fresh. The staff is hit or miss, depending on the night, sometimes awesome, sometimes in their own world not noticing whose glasses are empty. Either way, great bar! read more

When I was there, they were serving German kellerbier on the nitro taps. I won't bother to explain this (arguably the dumbest and most flagrant mistake one can make running a beer bar), though. If it doesn't mean anything to you, you'll probably be fine here. But the thing is that under the previous owners, this was one of the smartest beer bars within a thousand miles; everything done right, with care, love, and expertise for great beer. So it's been an awfully steep descent over an awfully short time period (I'll hit a decompression chamber to cure my severe case of beer bar bends). They've cranked the lights up, and hired a bunch of brotastic bros to bartend, who seem like they'd much rather be handling jello shots. Clientele is a combination of shocked, horrified legacy customers (outgoing) and friends of the bros (incoming). Oh well. ===== Edit - funny, I just read the review posted before mine, talking about how it's all friends of the owners, creating an exclusive party vibe (and not an exclusive party you'd likely want to crash). When I went, I actually asked a server "are you open yet, or am I crashing a soft opening party?" So, yeah, that's the vibe: A party you wouldn't want to join, poorly serving beer in an atmosphere they're trying their best to transform from Ideal Beer Sanctuary into every-frickin'-other-bar-in-the-world, including those damn TVs. The mantra seems to be: "Wreck the vibe." They should rename the place "Visigoth's and Friends". ======= To the owner: 1. I'm Italian. I don't see how you read "Italian" in my account. I didn't notice anyone particularly Italian-seeming there. If I did, I might have liked it better. 2. My relationship to the old owners is that I love what they did. Don't know them. Would love for you to have continued in their tradition, and been a loyal customer. You can't buy a biz, change it radically, and have the clientele embrace you. You've made your choices; embrace the consequences. 3. I had your kellerbier more than 5 days ago 4. Vocabulary assistance: "server" means anyone interfacing with customers. Bartenders, managers, barbacks, etc. You had so many people running around that I couldn't identify function, so used the generic term 5.Yelp isn't a PR tool for your biz. It's a place for customers to review and opine (opine means give an opinion). Bad reviews aren't libel nor do they violate TOS. Your brutish reaction only reinforces my observations. Raving on about libel and racism like some crazed person. Calm down, and either 1. embrace your decision to turn this into a completely different sort of bar, and accept that this will naturally repel those of us who loved it before, or 2. tone down the changes, get rid of the blaring TVs and testosterone music, and hire some bartenders who love and know beer, so you alienate older customers less. The attitude of everyone that works here needs to change. Ordered a flight of beers that came over WRONG BOTH TIMES..all we said to our bartender was that they were some wrong ones in there and they tasted a little warm...and they responded that if we wanted different ones we needed to decide quickly because she did not have time to argue with us. This place is a nice easy laid back beer bar. Awesome selection and a really knowledgeable staff. I was blown away by how all kinds of people were coming by to drop off a beer they'd tried on a trip and wanted to share with the owners. The menu doesn't have a burger and I didn't love that. But we came back for brunch the next Sunday and were greeted with probably a top 20 brunch menu. The croquet is dope and you gotta try it. Definitely I'll be here weekly. read more

The beer was average but priced as if it were exceptional. The real problem was that the bartenders, while numerous, were relatively inattentive and lacked basic interpersonal skills. After my friend tipped what was in their minds an inadequate amount to reflect this low quality service, one of the bartenders stood behind me as I payed to guilt trip me into paying more. Instead of harassing customers maybe you should focus on improving the customer service that kept the tip low in the first place. Hands down best bar in the Hudson Valley. If your looking for legit as fuck high quality local beers this is the spot. They only put on tap the most high quality brews from the Hudson Valley as well as the best from NYC, VT, PA and CT. Ohh and also the food is killer (best Cuban i've ever had), music is real and atmosphere is chill as hell. Love this place - owner and manager so friendly, cool, and helpful! Tons of great local craft beers on top as well as other fun cocktails and such. I love coming to Draught, especially after a long shift bartending. The guys behind the bar make you feel welcome and treat you like an old friend. The food is always amazing, as impossible as that sounds, every time I come in the food is always on point. Chef Miguel is one of the best on Beacon. The craft beer selection is among the best since the days of The Hop. The chances of having a bad beer is nigh on impossible. The owners know what they are doing. My boyfriend and I were staying in the area and did a quick search for good places to grab beer and a bite to eat for dinner. We settled on Draught Industries because it had all the side effects of a beer bar we typically enjoy. Upon entry the place looked cool, but is definitely smaller and narrower than it appears in pictures. We sat at the tables for a good 10 mins before we realized we had to go to the bar to order food or drinks. It took quite a long time for the bartender to notice we were at the bar to place an order then took a while longer for her to place the order. We got our food in reasonable time l, but it wasn't too much to rave about. Cuban sandwich was very dry and the macaroni bites were very salty. The bartenders seemed inattentive and a bit all over the place while we were here. Before we left one of the employees (he may actually be the owner?) took a minute to ask us how everything was, which was nice. Needless to say, this place has a good beer menu with a lot of local beers, food could be a bit better, and have more attentive staff. read more

I went into this place for lunch and I was really impressed. I love the decor, the exposed brick really adds to the atmosphere and the music was very upbeat. The bartenders were very knowledgeable of their extensive craft beer selection and they even gave me a sample of a local IPA which had a great flavor, perfect for the summer. I had the Reuben and I definitely recommend it, the fries were really tasty as well.
