    The view from our table
    Joseph F.

We have been coming here for years now and still enjoy ourselves each time. We met a couple of friends here for dinner yesterday. As always, everyone was friendly. We sat at the bar waiting for the other couple and ordered a martini and a beer. Our bartender was Anna, whom we've known for quite some time who greeted us with a big smile and asked about how we've been while she poured out drinks. We were seated at our table and our server Maddie came to the table to greet us. She was also warm, all smiles and it felt very welcoming. Even the owner stopped to say hello. This is one of our favorite local spots. It can get busy so it's nice they allow reservations but it also never seems overcrowded or rushed. Try the burger, everything is good but these are the best burgers I've had up here. The view is great, staff is fantastic and well worth trying !

8 oz. blue/mushroom burger with onion rings. Solid!

Nice, weathered spot on the Marlboro main drag. Had the 8oz. burger with blue cheese and shrooms, side onion rings. The only critique is I would've melted the cheese on the burger while it cooked on the grill. Nice view of the surroundings from the dining room. Service was solid. Owner/manager(?) checked in with me at one point to see how I was doing. I'll be back and ask for melted cheese on the next one.

Go check out the Raccoon Saloon in Marlboro NY. I did because of the 'hype' over their burgers. Now it's my turn to 'hype'. Everything I've heard is true! What a fantastic burger I had! Cooked perfectly, and tasted even better. Choose your add ons, and it's yours. And one of the cool things is their homemade ketchup with every burger. Awesome! (Commercial ketchup is available too). Great staff is right on top of things even when it's busy. Our waitress/server made me the best Appletini Martini! I had it while waiting for our food and half way through it I wanted to cancel the food and have a few more of those!lol It was so good that I thanked the bartender, and he didn't even make it (remember me?) All kidding aside, it's a great , casual atmosphere kicked up a little, with great food and great food choices. Sorry for only two pictures. Everyone else had demolished their meal before I thought about it. But trust me. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.

Ambiance takes a lead in my review, is an old saloon old saloon old restaurant-saloon, the music was made for my 70s and 80s disco ears, the restaurant seats at the edge of the cliff overlooking a water fall right there with the Hudson River in the background. Do you need more information? I WILL GIVE YOU MORE INFORMATION, our waitress Ana, was professional, elegant, you can tell she is a believer because she wears a beautiful little crucifix, that gave me comfort in this day an age, back to business: the mussels in white wine were delicious, the fresh Bread came with a little container of olive oil. The hamburger was great, the "odd couple" a name for a dish of shrimp and chicken with rice over vegetables is really good too. My husband's liver pâté was awesomeness and even the lemonade was so delicious. While we keep enjoying the view we are having coffee and dessert also writing this with that smile of satisfaction that comes from your tummy pass through your heart and gets to make you look like a good person.

This place was okay, the view I would absolutely get 5 stars the food on the other hand despite what seems like a fairly simple menu honestly felt like cafeteria food. This was a random stop, as I had been in Marlboro and figured lunch would be great so based on reviews I decided why not. Walking in its an older looking place, by no means is this a high class spot, definitely the kind of place families have frequented for quite some time and continue to come over loyalty to a local hub. The hostess was the waitress and seated us. Took our drinks and showed us the actual sign board that had the specials on it. The menu was only 2 pages so not this huge thing to think about. Calamari was decided upon to start up lunch on this cold winter day followed up with a bowl of chili. and an open face turkey sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries. The calamari was good, the portion felt small compared to the price but it was well cooked, didn't taste of grease and was satisfying. Then as you can see in the pictures of the bowl of chili it was covered in melted cheese but flavor wise it was decent. Nothing I would order again, I covered it in hot sauce and added fries to the side as it was in need of bread/crackers/rice something. The open face turkey was a huge NO. it reminded me of middle school lunch, the turkey slices tasted of frozen to my palate so I was not impressed. All in all cost wise it was fair, if I ever go back I will order their famous burger and possibly amend this but for now, unless you have some fond memory of it, A-Ok is the best I can say, 3/5 Stars.

If you haven't gone here on your way through Marlboro NY, then you are missing out. This is an old favorite of mine from our motorcycle trips through the area. My girlfriend and I have just recently gone here while touring the wine trail and it is forever unchanged, quaint, and excellent! The building is historic, the food and staff are incredible, the views from the back balcony are beautiful, and location is perfect. A must go! It will become a stop you make whenever you are nearby.

Heard about this place from a little local winery so decided to stop in. It's on a pretty busy road (Rt. 9W) so, if you don't park right in front, use caution crossing the street. It's got decent decor and amazing views. I'm sure it looks even better when there's actual greenery on the trees. We'd been told to try the burgers, so we did. They were very good. Cooked to perfection and completely delicious. This is definitely worth visiting . We also ended up here again for dinner (that's a whole other story) but we got some ravioli dish in a cream sauce with shrimp. It was divine. I think that overall, this is a great place, not just for burgers but for any meal.

So i always assumed this place was a dive bar - which is fine bc i love that vibe. Finally checked it out without doing any prior research and it turns out to be a fairly nice restaurant.. the decor is kinda funky and doesnt really match the tone the menu puts out. Our waitress was kinda heavy handed and seemed annoyed about 90% of the time, but i guess they were short staffed. When food arrived it was great though! I had the ravioli with grilled chicken which was one of their specials. As an app i shared a crab cake which is listed under the app portion of the menu, but there was only one singular crab cake to an order.. kinda expected there to be two. It was fine though! Not sure if i'd return, but it was cool to finally see what this place was all about.

I wanted to make this memorable for all of us. Enter, Danny's Table. This little gem in the Village of Fishkill met every expectation and exceeded them. We took an early dining hour and were seated immediately by Arnoldo, the host, who checked often to assure that we were comfortable and satisfied. We were expertly served by two waitresses, Nayeli and Dyan. And then came the delicious food. The appetizers were so good that I forgot to take pictures of the entrees. I had it all. Great food, great service, and the excellent company I brought with me was already in the bag. I don't know how they could have achieved this level of excellent service and fine dining when they have only been open since September, 2025, but wow! I can only assure you that my siblings and I will be back. And, we will be back soon!

Restaurant is in a space…read morethat's had a lot of turnover through the years, but reviews were good and it looked updated. Sat at the bar and ordered a strawberry mojito. Fresh strawberries and mint were nice to see, but there was hardly any alcohol in the drink and the straw was far too narrow to be able to take a sip without it becoming obstructed. Poured woefully short as well, topped with even more ice and seltzer. Had the tempura shrimp to start. Generous portion, well seasoned. Slightly rubbery but not detracting from the dish. Aioli was great, but could have used a little more. Chili sauce was also good, but could barely get any in the ramekin it was in. Bacon cheeseburger with mushroom for my main followed. Looking back, there was actually NO bacon on the burger. Not sure if the kitchen overlooked it, or what. $4 for added mushrooms seemed a bit exorbitant at first, but they were oyster mushrooms. Fries were crisp and wonderfully seasoned. Ordered the burger medium - came out medium and juicy.... But absolutely flavorless. If their head chef loved salt like their fry cook, this burger would have been spectacular. The mushrooms never got to drive off extra water because of the lack of salt, and the meat just fell flat without seasoning. I wanted to love this burger, but I just couldn't no matter how hard I tried. Had the crack pie, advertised to be similar to Monofuku Milk Bar... for someone who had crack pie multiple times before it became the phenomena it is now, this falls short, by a lot. The chess pie filling is far too dense, lacking caramelization. The pie crust was undercooked and anemic. Sugar decoration on top added zero value to the dessert, and coconut ice cream is far too competitive a flavor to put against this dessert. Sauces on the plate were weak and boring eye service. Paid my $80 bill, tipped (even though the bartender was rarely seen or asking how things were), and headed out. For a quiet weekday, the service and quality of food were severely underwhelming.

Unfortunately, the appetizers were a rough start. The lobster bisque was very watery/liquidy, and the lobster itself was tough. The Brussels sprouts were also overcooked. That said, the staff handled the situation very well and were extremely attentive and accommodating when we sent the soup back. The main entrées were much better and really saved the experience. I had the sea bass, my husband ordered the ribeye, and my sister-in-law had the veal -- all were hot, flavorful, and cooked very well. The veal was especially tender. Service throughout the evening was excellent, and you can tell the team is trying hard to make this newer restaurant successful. Overall, while the appetizers and overall execution didn't quite match the upscale price point yet, the entrées and attentive staff gave us enough reason to come back and give them another try. Hopefully, with a little refinement, especially on the starters, they can grow into the fine dining experience they're aiming for.

More recently, a coworker of mine mentioned she had dined here. Hubs and I had just finished with a gender reveal party in Stony Point and decided to come here then afterwards head up home. Ship L. has a warm, woodsy charm with dark woods, a large bar area to the right as you enter. This place has a spacious dining area on the left with an old-school energy that feels just right for a long-standing rest'nt like this one. Service was great from everyone: friendly, attentive and welcoming all around. That said, awesome service and history can only carry a restaurant but so far. We were told their long-standing chef of 30+ yrs either resigned(?) or didn't want to work here(?) and based on what my coworker told me- that she noticed a difference in the cooking not too long ago when she came here. Sadly, it shows. Our escargots were extremely salty. My husband's pork chop was salty. His vegetables also salty. At that point, I held out hope that my Chilean sea bass might at least redeem the evening. No such luck. Salty again. Even the mushroom risotto- which actually had delicious flavor, was overpowered by too much salt. By then, after one appetizer and two entrées all salty, we figured dessert would at least save the night. Nope. I ordered profiteroles with chocolate gelato instead of vanilla and was truly looking forward to them. Except, the profiteroles were rock hard. The chocolate drizzle tasted like Hershey's syrup, making the dessert taste cheap for a restaurant of this type. My husband, who always goes for sorbet, ordered the mango flavor- but to me it tasted like an unripe mango blended with sugar just to make it palatable.. If you're from the Caribbean or know a true mango taste, you know exactly what I mean. And don't even get me started on the cocktails- they tasted more like juice than actual drinks. At the end of the night, we realized we weren't imagining things. A $245 dinner with weak cocktails, overly salty food and disappointing desserts was no balance for a restaurant with such a long-standing history. For that reason... we out.
