The assembly of this dish was not great. They put a glob of mayo on top of the mussels...then fries under with a TON of not so great broth. The fries get sooooo soggy and dipping it becomes a nightmare when you start eating the mussels. The mussels also weren't that great. It wasn't necessarily fishy but almost tasted old or left out. I would not recommend this dish. The Brussels sprouts were horrendous and EXTREMELY salty. It was drenched in this buffalo tasting vinaigrette. The entire party hated this. As for the chicken, it was alright. The hot sauce wasn't great so I ate it alone. The biscuit was tough and hard to rip apart. It didn't have that flakey texture. The slaw was a miss from just looking at it. My favorite thing out of it all was the Mac and cheese. Not dry, had good amount of salt. The beer was terrific, the food was delicious, and the service was wonderful from start to finish. They also have a fun children's menu. I am Vallejo through and through and Bud's has always been one of those places I could count on. But the flavor has changed. I ate my fries and noticed a sweet undertone to them. The bun crumbled and tasted stale and the meat was just bland. After all these years and all my Yelp reviews, this one is probably the hardest to update because I really do love this place and what it has always meant to me. But if I were reading recent reviews, I'd want to know if things had changed.
