Customer Service-I called three times to place a takeout order. The first two times, I was put on hold and then disconnected before anyone took my order. By the third call, I had parked in front of the restaurant because I wanted to see what was happening. Fortunately, a different employee's voice answered the phone and was very polite, professional, and took my order without any issues. Other than that the service was amazing. Friendly people. Ambiance-Is laid back small hole in the wall type of vibe. Customers are chill. Had a good conversation with some Young OG's and OG's about who better Kobe or LeBron. Of course I picked Kobe and the Young G's picked LeBron. Food-The burgers use to are still fire. The cheese burger fries and soda is still my favorite. $12.20 out the door. Freshly grounded homemade beef patties at that. They no longer salt your fries. You have to do that yourself with the salt packets that's near the left side of the cashier. I'd suggest just get the burgers. Fries are not really worth it and this coming from a man who love a good French fry. But the meal combo is definitely consumer friendly considering. Though This place not the same as it once was. I remember I use to love this place when they were on Springs Road. It's still good but you can tell the Cooks or upper management have changed things. Classic!! This has been my favorite local burger spot. Even after moving out of Vallejo I find myslef always coming back. I get the same cheeseburger with grilled onions and fries. No special sauce just simple classic burger but soooo good and juicy. Now its also my kids favorite burger joint. Service is quick and fast,you can also call in your order. Plenty of parking. Between my first review and this one, there could be 2-3 star review updates. I have had very meh burgers here that did not taste like they were cooked to order. Last week, I went in the morning and the burger I got was freshly grilled, JUICY, and all around delicious. If they were cooked fresh like this all of the time, I'd be there a lot! I hadn't been to Bud's in years! So I decided to stop by with my husband. He had never eaten here before being that he's from the east coast so I was excited to introduce him to a new spot in the Bay Area. I ordered the cheeseburger and fries. When I bit into it, it lacked the flavor that I was accustomed to years ago. It didn't taste the same. I remember going to Bud's as a kid in the 90's with my family and the burgers were always so good! They were even great back in the early 2000's (2001). But when I visited the other day it has obviously changed- they are definitely not as good. Hopefully one day the quality will be back, but it's definitely not worth the drive. read more

I love it that they have 10 or more baskets staged for frying because they're fries are such a popular item. I'll start by saying that I would definitely come back here. Priced fairly well, big portions, and overall good classic old fashion food. Can't complain. The burger was juicy, the bun held everything together and the lettuce, tomato and raw onion made it fresh and crunchy. As much I loved it, there wasn't anything special other than the fact they keep it simple but do it right. I did enjoy how I was able to spend $15 dollars for a triple cheeseburger, fries and drink. My same meal at similar places would easily be over $20. As far as toppings go, it's your standard picnic toppings, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onions, bacon. It's hard to say if adding more toppings or a secret sauce would make this place better because what makes it good is how simple it is. Normally, I would eat my burger with whatever secret sauce the restaurant has. But here I felt like I didn't need it. Would it make the burger taste better? Absolutely. But I don't think it needs it. The fries, it's pretty cool seeing the basket of fries hanging on the wall. I think they double fry the fries, which gives it a really good crunch but soft and smooth inside. The fries could've used a little more salt, but that is just me. I would come back for the fries. Personally, I'm a fan. 10/10 would come back again. read more

I had all the veggies and sauce on the burger. The cheese wasn't melted. The fries weren't hot and lacked salt. Sorry, but not really. Very surprising. Bought the bacon cheeseburger combination, I thought the fries fell flat. They were not very good limp not very well cooked or prepared no salt. Hamburger, extremely mediocre on a scale of 1 to 10 I'd give it a 3. Not much flavor. When my hamburger first came out, there was no bacon on it. I had to bring it back up there, which I thought was odd . Truthfully, there's a lot better hamburgers out there. My son felt the same way neither of us really ate the fries. We threw them away. It's been so long since I've gotten a burger from the infamous Bud's Burgers! I was shocked by the long line that had people waiting outside around 11-12pm. The inside is the same and old-timey. I waited around 10-15 minutes for two giant cheeseburgers and family size fries. I remember being so addicted to the burgers here, but I honestly wasn't a fan of it. The price has also gone up and, not that it's crazy expensive, but comparing the quality and price to in-n-out.. I'd rather get in-n-out. I will say, the fries were fresh and they are generous with the family size. The burgers also tasted fresh, but I noticed their burger buns were off. I'm not sure if they changed it, but it wasn't the best. It was nice coming back here after not coming here for awhile, but I'm gonna have to pass. read more

I love Bud's as well, you can pick the doneness of your burger, customize it to your liking and make it great!
