I had barely just hired them when they sent me photos of the nearly finished table! (they told me if I didn't want it after all, they could use it themselves) :-) They don't live too nearby, but came out twice- once to double check the dimensions and wood tones, and the second time to deliver the finished table. I needed to get the hinges replaced on a noisy inside door of my house (the joys of being a new homeowner), and I got several responses from contractors across Yelp. Andrei's stood out both because it was the lowest price quote, and he had the best reviews of any other respondent. It seemed a little too good to be true, but I figured it was worth taking a chance. I'm glad I did, because Andrei IS too good to be true, and yet he exists. Excellent communication, punctual, thorough and completely self-sufficient, the hinge replacement process started off great. Then, after expertly replacing the hinges, and even sanding a bit at the base of the door where it caused the door to stick when opening and closing, he checked to see how the door opened and closed - the door was now blissfully quiet, but still stuck, and he identified the door latch and plate as needing to be adjusted. Above and beyond! The door works perfectly now, it's literally like a new door. And because the door was to my mother-in-law's bedroom, having Andrei provide this superlative service scored me a few points with her (well, at least for a few hours, until she found something else to grumble about). He also left the space clean, and was very courteous from start to finish. Friday comes he's late so I call him to see if he's still coming for him to tell me he's running 40 minutes late and the price of my bathroom socket is going to cost $80 dollars and total price for his service will be $250, smh. I did a search for price of socket and the cost at Home Depot is $19 this person Chris is overpricing and being very unprofessional by not showing up or even calling . The management wasn't easy approving Gotham, and I am putting it lightly. They found an obstacle over an obstacle. But Jasmin and Luis would not give up on me. Finally, we got the approval, and work started. Luis and his team not only demonstrated their exceptional professionalism, but they also earned my trust in a remarkably short time. I felt so secure in their hands that I was comfortable leaving them to work alone. Even when the cabinet company (KraftMaid, via HomeDepot) sent a few damaged cabinet doors and a cabinet base, Luis and his team were there, accommodating every time another door arrived damaged. Aside from that, this is an old building. It is amazing that it is standing because not one wall is straight, nor the floor or the ceiling. You will not see any of that when you look at my kitchen. Luis and his team managed to "camouflage" it. My budget and the final approval would not allow for any major wall changes besides plastering. They also replaced my floor from tile to parquet-looking. There was an issue with leveling with the saddle of the living room floor, but they worked it out amazingly, too. So thank you, Gotham Builders of NY. I enjoy looking and cooking in my new kitchen.
