I've never been so humiliated than going to this Club. My friend and I went to this place due to its nearby location. It's in a very strange location right next to the T-Mobile arena (baseball game). As we walked to the doorman he looked at us like a suspicious airport TSA agent. He asked for our ID's and examined both of ours front and back for close to 5 min. He asked 'where are we from'? Huh? Why would that matter??? Also asked 'have we been drinking'?. Keep in mind, we are in our 50's, appropriately dressed, sober and had money to spend. He kept repeating the same questions over and over. My thought was is he on drugs? Then he said take everything metal out of our pockets as he scanned us with a metal detector. I can certainly understand this part due to safety. What I didn't expect was how humiliating he made the process. He told each of us to raise our arms and spread our legs.... I felt like we were on the TV show 'Cops'. He scanned every limb repeatedly then told us to turn around and did the same, it seemed like he was looking for any reason to not allow entry. The whole time the sidewalk had tons of families passing by and watching. In the end (I kid you not), he asked us 'why are we at the club?'. At this point, we were on the sidewalk for over 20 minutes being interrogated, scanned and humiliated. After all this, he said 'I can't let you guys in' with no explanation. WHAT? If he felt this way, why put us through this humiliating process. I was stunned and speechless at this point. I certainly didn't want to make a seen as all the people/families was watching this whole event on the sidewalk. In a way this was a blessing in disguise as the girls walking in to work were well below average and just came from their trailer home. This is the first time in my life. Every strip club I've been to have literally dragged me into the club. Luckily I called an UBER and the driver heard our conversation and dis-belief. No booze or beer just regular beverages & juices. The bartender explained a number of free drinks came with cover, however trying to get a drink from a waitress was a tedious endeavor. The venue is ultra dark with colored lights so it's hard to distinguish what you're attracted to without an up, close and personal viewing. I stopped in on a weeknight and there were a few hotties on display. Much of the talent was engaged in private dances with regulars. These run for about $20 per song. This became a problem as the night lingered on and the same girls kept hitting the stage. Few had true pole skills (not that kind pervs, I'm talking upper body strength pole skills) and others brought the twerk. (Personally, not my style of dance) But there is raunchy fun to be had. There were a few entertainers that caught my attention immediately like "Aries". You gotta love these fake names right. She was genuinely sweet and reminded me of how entertaining an exotic dancer should be. I like my entertainer having a grand stage presence, sky high platforms and very lady like. In regards to the club some of their photos (online) don't make sense to me. I feel as though I was in a different club but often times these chains use stock photos to give a general idea. Notes: Raunchy, late night fun. Tourists please tip graciously so that the dancers continue to treat us special. I like to tip everyone from the hostess to waitstaff, etc. You'll notice a nicer treatment all around and well people like to follow a good tipper. Also, tourists please dress to impress. It will greatly increase our chances of being seen. Some patrons were dressed in basketball shorts (ew) use your imagination on why someone would dress that way when visiting. I went to DreamGirls last night for the first time. In fact, it was the first time I'd been to ANY strip joint. Maybe it's just because I'm not as seasoned as some commenters, but I really liked it. My boyfriend and I were on a date. We'd just been to a burlesque show at Rendezvous and had dinner at List. We were walking back to the car when a random guy handed us about five "get in free (with drink purchase)" cards for DreamGirls. We had nothing else to do for the night, and we were in an adventurous mood, so we went. When we walked in the door, a very professional bouncer and cashier greeted us. My boyfriend paid $10 for his bottomless drink (non-alcoholic, of course), and I paid absolutely nothing because Thursdays are Ladies' Nights! The space was a little small, but I didn't have a problem with that or the lighting, which bathed the dancers in a soft blue glow. For the most part, they were all beautiful and very talented. I was especially impressed by those who could climb the pole all the way to the top. Since I was one of the few female patrons, I got a lot of positive attention (read: smiles, conversation, breasts in my face, and special tricks right in front of me). I got a little carried away with the dollar bills. (FYI, the ATM charges you $7 every time you use it...so get a lot of money when you do. The cashier will happily and swiftly make change for you.) Eventually I succumbed to a lap dance ($20), and my boyfriend did, too. We picked our dancers based on their skills on stage, and it certainly paid off. Edited to add more info: I have been here twice. The location has crappy parking, feels pretty dodgy. Despite that, this may be the best Deja Cu club in the area. The entry during prime time is a 10 cover and 12 for unlimited soft drinks. Go to dejavu.com and request a free pass to waive the cover at least once. Like most clubs there are in house ATMs but high service fees ($7) for cash outs. You can use a card to pay for a private room but expect a service fee. The dancers are a variety of thick and thin, athletic and sultry and innocent to sexy. all the ones I have talked to have been nice, not horribly pushy. The private dances run 30-40 depending on the girl. Some are 30 all the time, some 40 (with a usual 3 for 100 offer) and some 30 for a dance but 40 if she goes topless. Dances are in a room upstairs with individual couches. Semi private but pretty standard for a deja vu club. The VIP rooms are 150 for 15 min, 280 for 30 and 400 for an hour. 15 minute rooms are in another room across the hall form the dance rooms while the longer VIP areas are down a side hall, with very discreet rooms and much better privacy. The stages are a single round single pole main stage, in the center of the room, with seats all around, then a larger double pole stage against a wall. The ceiling is very high so the poles are much higher than most clubs, allowing the girls that know how to use them more room. Behind the secondary stage is a multi-display I am told displays the game on game days. It would be helluva place to kick back and watch football. Note to the wise: strip clubs are there to make the girls and the owner money, expect that going in. Tip the dancers, don't be an ass. and tip the waitresses, they need love too. The last I heard someone was coming to look at the footage (a lady) and she would call me back that night to let me know. Never heard back once again. Called today and a male manager completely brushed off the situation and told me that HE watched the cameras and that he couldn't see anything because THEIR SECURITY CAMERAS ONLY POINT TO THE REGISTERS and therefore he couldn't see anything. Which is ridiculous because they other manager told me the cameras point literally everywhere!!! So basically they let someone steal almost $700 worth of my belongings and won't pay me for it or bother trying to get it back. I'm filing a police report and having the police review the cameras instead. I live and work downtown and know A LOT of people and I'll be publicly making sure via social media and word of mouth that no one I know goes to dream girls anymore. read more
