Khanh arrived 30 minutes early (fine with me!) and after reviewing the work, got right to work. My request was for help with a new garden- putting a border around it and expanding it to extend to the new borders. All I had to do was provide materials. I had originally asked for a fence too but those materials didn't arrive on time. The work was great and done as quickly as he projected it would take- just under 3 hours. He took the materials and put together a nice secure frame and then dug out the rest of the garden. I had an unusual ask of making a portion of my attic into a playhouse for my kids and others I spoke to weren't interested in taking on the project. From the very beginning, Khanh was quick to respond to my initial inquiry and came over the next day to look at the space (which was over the weekend). He was upfront about costs and when he could start the work. He didn't shy away from the project like others had before him and was even helpful in providing some design direction along the way. Work began quickly and was finished in about a week. I was shocked at how quick and efficient he and the team were. The full project involved custom shelving on one wall, an indoor built-in playhouse, hanging an indoor swing and finishing everything with paint. I had Dream Services construct a 1/2 bath in our basement and fully renovate our main bathroom. Both were done with high quality and outstanding workmanship. Khanh takes pride in his work and wants to please the customer. His crew is very friendly and skillful and are well supervised. He needs to be clear and precise as best as possible with his pricing of building material costs as not everything was included in my initial proposal so my final cost was quite a bit higher than anticipated. TL;DR: fast response, excellent work, will use again! Long version: I wanted a very specific arrangement for floating/hanging shelves placed around a window/love seat in my second bedroom, but I do not have the skill set to successfully execute the vision. Luckily, these guys do. The owner showed responded immediately and showed up that day to give me a really reasonable quote, and he came with a team of two other guys to finish the project the next day. They were fast, executed exactly what I wanted, and they cleaned up afterward. They finished so quickly that I wasn't able to get home before they were done! It was the easiest, most seamless experience I've ever had with a contractor, and I will definitely be using them again. Dream house services did a fair amount of work for us: 1. Framing and installing a French door 2. Backsplash tile on our entire kitchen 3. Building, framing, and installing a custom French door in a tough spot 4. Putting up drywall and making a nook with a coatrack to close off a room. They were fantastic! At first we just asked for (1) and (4), but after seeing their work we expanded the project. They were very flexible and easy to work with. In addition to making the doors and rooms look fantastic, they had great suggestions to improve our ideas. We flipped the tough French door 180 degrees on their suggestion and it is way better than we originally imagined. Honestly, it's hard not to feel like you're being ripped off when you see the prices around Boston for handymen but Khahn gave me a great price for the service he provided. Khanh is an amazing tradesperson. I'm a retired one, so I recognize talent and professional confidence when I see it! We've had him move walls, lay ceramic tile, re-drywall, install a sink, a toilet, a thru-the-wall a/c, and stuff I'm sure I'm forgetting. Whatever you need done, if, when he sees it, he says he can do it, then he can! And he'll do a really professional job with a great end result. Consummately unprofessional. All went well at first. Started adding up beyond agreed price. Installed a $2500 beam without asking me first. Told me what size door to order so I ordered it. Then he had a tantrum when it got here saying it was a "customized door," which it wasn't. Standard door size. Multiple no shows that screwed up my schedule. Won't answer my emails now when I have questions (eg how to use the pump installed in the basement). Worst part: instead of making things right, is just continually defensive and makes excuses for himself. Too bad you can't hire his crew without him in charge, because his crew is great. Leadership will give you a headache guaranteed. I initially took down this review because I figured, let it be on his karma and not mine. But I was really worried before this most recent potential hurricane about how do use the pump I never received a response. No business should take more than two business days to respond ever. Painting a garage, one room and another room/one wall where Khanh and his team patched a very large opening(drywall). Very difficult to locate painters who know how to use drywall for a large space.
