I bought a precious Boston Terrier pup from Dream Pet Kennels and I am beyond happy that I did. She is an absolute "love"! I purchased her to cheer up my 4 year old Boston, Mia and myself up after the loss of our loved companion Boston last fall. Mia had sunk into doggie depression for 8 months. Now Mia and our new baby Jolie are best buds - they play, play, play and sleep together and go to "work" with me at my business. I purchased a Boston pup approx. 2 yrs ago from Dreampet Kennel. My pup was deaf. He was tested at the University of GA. The vet there said that his deafness was a genetic defect. I contacted Dedee and told her. She did remove the Mother from her breading line, but the Father Bandit is still in her breading line. According to the Vet, both dogs should not be bread, since they carry the Murl Gene for deafness. I love my pup and have trained him with sign language. Deaf dogs require additional attention and I do not want someone else to get a deaf pup. read more

I purchased a puppy from dream pet kennel in 2018 and have been very happy with the dog. She's a great dog and has had no issues health wise. So in 2020 I decided to buy another puppy from the Stevenson's. At the first vet appointment, my veterinarian discovered a very prominent heart murmur. To make a long story short, I went to two different specialists to have ECG testing done and it was determined the puppy had severe pulmonic stenosis, a small hole between two chambers of her heart and an enlarged heart. I emailed the Stevensons just to advise them of the problem due to it being a hereditary condition. My veterinarian advised that the parent dogs should not be breed anymore. They choose not to respond (the Stevensons). I never asked for a refund or help with vet bills. That wasn't my goal. I just wanted to prevent someone else having to go through what I did. I had to put my puppy down today after owning her for less than two months. She was experiencing episodes of passing out and collapsing. This leads me to assume the puppies born at dream pet kennel more than likely are not being examined by a veterinarian when they are born. I'm sure this is for cost saving purposes but it's pretty crappy to charge $1,100 and only provide a 2 day health guarantee. To give them benefit of the doubt, I don't believe the Stevenson's did anything with I'll intent, they seem like very nice people, however I get the impression their breeding operation is a fancy puppy mill. read more

My little puppy from Dream Pet Kennel is not 2 and 1/2 years old. He is a total joy and all of the vets who have examined him have made comments about the good breeding and his good health and his good looks. I have been very satisfied with him and I agree with the vets...must be good breeding. read more

After reading the other review on here I felt compelled to give you a different perspective. Exactly two years ago today we brought home my pride and joy, Penny. Let me give you a bit of back story: I had been wanting a Boston for years, but the timing just never seemed right--I was in college, trying to figure life out, etc. In 2015 I had graduated from college, gotten engaged, started a wonderful job/career, and had moved to a much more-pet friendly environment with my (now) husband and our cat. We both felt that it was a good time to get a dog, especially since I was so desperately missing my childhood dogs that Moved to Chicago with my parents about a year before I had graduated from college. After many, many hours of research we discovered Dream Pet, Deedee and her family. I contacted them because I knew she had a litter and there were two puppies in particular that I was interested in. She spoke with me and assured me that if I wanted to come see the pups for myself I was more then welcome to! I put a deposit down on the one I thought I wanted, and she told me that it could be transferred if I decided I wanted the other as long as no one else put a deposit down. Side note: Placing non-refundable deposits on AKC dogs is EXTREMELY normal--In fact, a $200 deposit is literally the lowest deposit I have seen in my research of these dogs, not only does this deposit guarantee the dog is held, but it helps with the extensive front-end costs of running an AKC breeding operation--my pup had all shots available to her when we got her, she was in phenomenal health and was at a good weight. Living in Columbia at the time (now Charlotte) it was about two hours to get to Dream Pet. We hopped in the car on a Saturday (two days after placing the deposit), and were there about mid day. Deedee was not home, but her husband couldn't have been nicer! He had our baby out for us, and had both her parents to show us so we could get an idea of what her size would be. The places the dogs are kept are extremely clean and sanitary and I could see that all of her dogs were kept in very good health. I was reassured of their breeding practices and ended up going with the puppy I put a deposit on. At this point, she was only about 2-3 weeks old, so we obviously left her there and scheduled a pick up date for when she was old enough. We picked her up June 20th, 2015 and she was such a happy puppy! Fast-forward two years: Penny is my pride and joy. She is a healthy, 13lb Boston Terrier with the biggest ears I have ever seen (our vet even talks about how massive her ears are). She's cute, healthy, and all-around a good dog. Since we brought Penny home, we have moved to a home on two acres in Charlotte and have accumulated a small zoo of 3 cats and 3 dogs. Penny has adapted to all animals with a good amount of ease. The cat's mainly hang out in their "catio" and much to her dismay, she doesn't get to play with them much. But, we have an Aussie Mix rescue, and a 90lb German Shepherd and she can keep up with both of them as they bolt around the property and play with toys. She is in charge and they know it. Ultimately, I had such a wonderful experience with Deedee. I often tell my husband that I'm going to bring another Boston home from Dream Pet because I have been so pleased with every aspect of the breeder and being a Boston owner. I feel the other review is unfair and from a single perspective of someone that feels they are in the right. I couldn't be happier with this business and I recommend them fully. read more

We bought a puppy from the Stevenon's last May. What was suppose to be an exciting and happy experience turned into a nightmare for us. A few weeks after we bought our puppy, we asked for more recent pictures, and we noticed that one of the puppy's eyes was very cloudy. I asked DeeDee about it and she assured us that it was just a superficial scratch and would be healed before we picked her up. We believed her. A few weeks later, we're making the 5hr drive down, we receive a call about an hour before we were suppose to pick her up and DeeDee mentions that the eye hasn't cleared up but again reassured us that it was just superficial. We got there and DeeDee and her husband told us to keep putting in eye drops and to call their vet if we had any questions. Thinking this was nothing major we took her home, but noticed that her eye wasn't getting any better. I called their vet, and she said that the puppies actually came in with deep ulcers to the point where they had to be debrided and she told me that scarring was possible. I took the puppy to our vet and even an ophthalmologist and they confirmed the same result. This was not a small superficial scratch. I told this to the Stevensons and they said the knew nothing about the severity of the injury, which I find hard to believe because the vet told me a totally different story. When I asked for the puppy's vet records, the Stevenson's DENIED them to me. We have tried working with the Stevenons' and just asked to be reimbursed for her eye and vet exams not even her treatments, which was far below the cost of her purchase price. The Stevensons initially agreed after countless emails from Daniel Stevenson which we found to be quite rude but then he took back the agreement and said that they already spent "too much on her vet bills" when she was in their care, and that the best they could do is exchange her for another puppy. It got to point where we had to seek advice and file a complaint with the BBB. After all that, the Stevensons finally agreed to reimburse some of her bills, but in their response stated that they thought I was trying to fraud them. I was very offended by that comment because I felt like that was very far from the truth. In my opinion, I feel like they were the ones that tried taking advantage of me and referred to me as some college student that needed money, which is also not true. They are the ones that not only didn't tell me she was injured in the first place (I had to ask about why her eye was cloudy) and on top of all that, also REFUSED to send her medical records and lied to me several times. A year later, our puppy's eye is still scarred. After our experience and how poorly and rudely we felt we were treated, I would absolutely never buy a puppy from the Stevenson's again. read more

After our 14-year-old Boston Terrier passed away, I was thinking another Boston Terrier would be a great addition to our family. I found Dreampet Kennels and thought that they would be a good fit from what I saw online. However at the first attempt to get a puppy from them, my daughter( a very sensitive 5-year-old) freaked out when she found out that we would be getting a Boston Terrier puppy that looked just like our Bella, that passed away. I told Deedee the issue and she agreed to shred my check that she had just received that day. After about a month my daughter got over her issues and told us that she would be ok with getting a Boston since she was getting her own kitten. Long story short we put another deposit down on a puppy from Deedee and Daniel. However, once getting our cat we realized that our two-year-old boy loves hard. And I was super concerned about the safety of bringing in another small animal. I can only watch them so much. I voiced my concerned to Deedee and Daniel and they said I had done this before and they would not return my deposit. I understand this as a business owner, and I know you have to set boundaries with clients, however the way he handled and texted(which I will try to include) my request/issue was very rude, condescending and completely unprofessional. Never have I been so angry and disappointed. I am just looking out for the dog, and they seem to not care about that at all. They only seem to care about the bottom line and the money. I also said to only send my deposit back when they found another buyer for the puppy so that they wouldn't lose out from our inability to adopt this puppy. Also, they were super rude when I requested an extra photo of the dogs. A very easy request to fill and one I have found other breeders to never have a problem doing in the past seeing as my parents always had pure bred puppies! I could not be more disappointed in them and their way of doing business. There are other puppies breeders out there folks, and if you are looking for a Boston Terrier ( who are awesome dogs) please look to some place other than Dreampet Kennels. read more
