Great service, best burgers hands down and very reasonably priced. And you get way more then what you pay

Our family of 4 stopped by for lunch on our way to Copper Harbor. We were less than impressed. The burger meat was an unseasoned cheap frozen patty, and the "chicken" nuggets were so gross, we each took one bite and put the rest of the nugget back in the basket. The curly fries would have been good had they been actual fries. It was more like the bits and pieces from the bottom of the bag, with maybe 4 actual fries. The Lee were no complaints with the BLT or the rootbeer. This was a disappointing, expensive roadside gimmick of a lunch. I'd love to have my $70 back. Side note: as I'm typing this, my husband and I are both feeling a bit unwell. Mystery meat 0/10 stars. read more

Great local stop in Baraga! The carhop was on her way before we had finished parking. Great burgers and crispy sweet potato fries. Try the homemade root beer! The shakes are almost too thick for a straw. You will not be disappointed! (Only downside- no pets allowed in the patio area) read more

Recently discovered that they serve Pizza in the "offseason". Not just pizza, but really good Detroit Style Pizza. Thick crust, but somehow light at the same time. It's baked in a square pan, so there is a ton of caramelized cheese on the crust. We had Sausage, olives, mushrooms and onions and it was fantastic! read more

This used to be a great place to eat, good food, old fashioned drive-in experience, wonderful frozen custard but that was in the past. It has been a tradition to stop in there on my way thru once or twice a year. but in the last couple of years, it has been very different. Last year the food literally made me ill which made the rest of my drive Hell. this year I reacted badly again altho to a lesser degree. my custard was already melting down the cone before I got it. They aren't using the window trays or the frosty mugs for the rootbeer anymore. there were also service problems. I am going to make a new tradition because you would have to pay me to go back. Burger King is better and won't make me sick It's sad really, I loved that place. read more

Incredible fries! Get them! Burgers are ok, ice cream is very good. The service is sensational, these kids work really hard, are friendly, and obviously run back and forth to your car. I stop here in the evenings each nice, get a little snackity snack. read more

Ordered a hamburger and fries. It came with no condiments. Not even ketchup for the fries. Burger was a bare patty on a bun. I asked for some ketchup, mustard and a bit of mayo. They did bring me some, but I was slightly annoyed my burger ended up being more of a DIY project than I wanted. Only after paying did we notice we'd been charged extra for the condiments, which in my opinion should be considered basic essentials with a burger and fries. This place was bad - on so many levels. I ordered a hot dog - it was green and looked to be 10 years old. I couldn't take a bite. The root beer was supposed to be draft - no foam. And, the service stunk too. I had to holler at the server after she left another bar, to get her to come back. All in all - bad experience. Don't go there! read more

Wasn't a pleasant experience at all. Ordered cheese and onions on the pizza burger didn't get it and they refused to correct since my daughter had taken a bite . Manager and waitress were very very rude . Not sure if they thought I wanted something for nothing or what. I just wanted the cheese and onions she ordered our on her pizza burger . Food is very good, especially the onion rings. The young lady taking orders is very very attentive and courteous. The only downside of this place is that it's not open year round. Would definitely recommend anyone to try this place! read more

I'm not sure why this had such a bad review. The service is difficult at times but the food is amazing. This is a mom and pop twist on a Sonic Drive In. My favorite thing is the burgers and root beer. The root beer is made right in the back and the burgers are always good. I know the owners and if there is ever a problem alls you have to do is call and explain the problem and they take care of it right away. If the lady that wrote the bad review would have just asked everything would have been taken care of. Also they do not accept credit/debit cards. read more

The drive-in is a nice, seasonal option for dinning if you're in the area. We've been coming to Baraga around the 4th for years, but never tried this place, and now I wish we did sooner. I visited this drive-in with high hopes. I heard the root beer was excellent, and no doubt it certainly was and besides the uniqueness of window service that's all the pros of this place. The service is poor and quite aloof, as if sitting and texting is their job. When service did come on this very slow day, the waitress was emotionless and curt. I must say that I did get my cheeseburger in a timely manner. However, the burger I got was all bun and toppings as the patty itself was thinner than what you get at a fast food joint. Therefore, I could barely taste the meat and mainly tasted toppings. I could see myself returning in a pinch and if I was passing through, but I'd just as well go to Burger King for better food and on par service. read more

I'm not a big fan of fast food, but when I do have a desire for the old burger and fries standby, this is the best place for it. I should add, however, that the Drive-In has an ample menu that goes beyond typical fast food into grilled specialities and interesting salads. The staff is generally very accommodating when it comes to specific toppings on burgers or cooking preferences; I regularly make special requests, which are always met. The food is consistently hot and delicious. The best thing the Drive-In offers is probably their frozen custard. I've tried frozen custard in several places throughout this great state (and beyond), and none can compare to what I get at the Drive-In. The custard hits that perfect spot between sweet and too sweet and the flavors are fantastic. Be careful what you order, though--the portions of custard are ample and you may find that your eyes are bigger than your stomach. All in all, it's a fantastic place for the money. A filling and satisfying lunch for two won't run you more than a couple of dollars, and the quality of what you get for that money far surpasses a similar meal at chain restaurants across the bay in L'Anse.
