The short version of this review is that Dreamscapes Pools and their entire team from start to finish earned a 5-star rating from us. It was a pleasant relief to have a stress-free, smooth construction process. We can't say enough good things about them! If you want to read more details why, read the long version below. As first time pool owners, our minds were flooded with questions: salt or chlorine, heat or no heat, fiberglass or gunite, what would it do to our electric bill? We did some Google research on the pros and cons of each and on the local companies that install pools. The list was extensive, so I began the daunting task of contacting them. Only two companies replied, Dreamscapes and one other. The other company corresponded through email and shared THEIR vision of what they thought a pool should look like. They had limited options and didn't seem to have answers to our questions such as upkeep or daily costs. Unlike that company, Dreamscapes' salesman Tod Brown came out to the house, sat down and started the meeting by answering our questions. He gave us an idea of what the average range for the increase in our electric bill could be, and when we asked whether we should do salt or chlorine, he said he had no preference as Dreamscapes handled both. It was based on what we liked best. Since we had never experienced a salt pool, he made arrangements for us to visit one so that we could feel and smell the water to compare it to Chlorine pools. When we asked whether fiberglass, a liner or gunite would be better for our pool, Tod recommended that in Florida, gunite is a very safe option. After answering our questions, Tod took some measurements, talked to us about what we wanted in a pool and started the design. Within about 30 minutes, he had a 3D design laid out with our house and yard. It was very helpful to see what it would look like, and we were immediately able to tweak the location of the pool so that it would be centered in the view seen from the back sliding glass door rather than centering it on the back of the house. Tod didn't rush us through the process. He talked us through the contract of the bill of materials, the construction process, and the items which are standard versus upgrades. As the first point of contact with Dreamscapes, Tod was a five out of five stars. We continued to do our research and with Tod's design layout, made some minor adjustments. We signed the contract in late October 2024. We were not on a schedule nor did we have an unrealistic end date, and we thought we'd likely start around March 2025. On November 22, 2024, our next point of contact with Dreamscapes, Gary(Project Manager), came out to the house. We had outstanding questions about where permitting would/wouldn't allow the pool equipment to be located. Gary saw our Plan A, B, & C preferences for the location of the equipment, took extensive notes, and said he was going to follow up with Orange County to see what was possible or not possible. He staked out the pool and put the permits' stake on the property. On Monday morning, November 25, a crew removed the SOD and top layer of dirt and later that afternoon another person staked out the pool with lasers and measurements. The next day a crew dug the hole for the pool, and on Wednesday, November 27, another crew laid out the steel rebar for the gunite. Within a 3-day time period we went from a grass yard to being ready to line our pool with gunite! About a week later (which included inspections and the Thanksgiving Holiday) the gunite crew arrived. A day or two later the tile guy arrived, then the plumber, and pre-grade and concrete framing crew a few days later. The following week, the concrete was poured for the decking and sidewalks, and the final grading was done. The Deck Doctors painters did the first coat of paint and later that same day the plumber finished the equipment install on the section that was over the poured concrete. They were followed by the interior finish crew, the electrician, and again the painters for the final coat. All of these crews were about a week apart, and the pool was finished January 10, 2025. Granted our pool was a simple rectangular design with 3 deck jets, but to have our pool finished in less than 2 months was remarkable! Every crew that came to our home was respectful, professional, and asked questions if they were unsure of specs, or had questions on water usage or how to access the backyard. Another part of Dreamscapes is the Admin staff, Missy and Lynda. Missy was our scheduler, and she would call or text informing us when someone was scheduled and supposed to arrive and was instrumental in answering any questions and steering the crews between projects, which made things run like clockwork. CAUTION: READ THIS BEFORE CHOOSING DREAMSCAPES March 2020, I signed a contract for a pool build, 10 months later, my pool build is still incomplete, and they are still fixing their plethora of mistakes. To be clear, I am not nearly concerned with their slow build as I am with the quality of their work. If you hire Dreamscapes Pools and Spas your new pool will be built 100% by SUBCONTRACTORS and DREAMSCAPES will have no one from their team come to the job site to evaluate the quality of the work, manage the job, or communicate with you during the construction phase as part of their standard process. They only sent someone from their team after I told them it seemed like nobody from Dreamscapes was managing the job site or the pool build, except from behind a desk (which turned out to be 100% true). As a former NAVY Commander, Nurse Anesthesiologist, and business owner myself, I can assure you this company is lacking in many areas. They also seem to be unethically selling FAR more pools than they can complete in a reasonable time frame and as a result, their quality suffers. If you hire Dreamscapes, you will find that YOU will become the supervisor of their subcontractors, if you don't watch them closely and call them out on their low-quality work they will try to pass things off as a job done properly. Many of these contractors skimp on their work, cut corners, and will leave your yard filled with trash wrappers, cigarette butts, empty plastic bottles, and they will even leave their construction trash and scraps for you to clean up. Oh, and I hope you don't want your equipment manuals or boxes because they will be thrown in your yard and left to get rained on and rot (see photos). Your pool will even be left full of trash floating in it for the many months it takes them to build it. One subcontractor even left a huge pile of junk wood they used to build the framing for the concrete pour. I had to get rid of that myself after several months of it being left in the yard. I could write a 3,000 word post just on the problems, but just to name a few they: 1. Installed the wrong LED shear lights intentionally and had to demo those out and reinstall. They installed the wrong light because the color LED lights I ordered were on backorder and they didn't want to do the work to find a color LED substitute, so they just installed white LEDs. 2. They improperly installed the bubbler LEDs TWICE and had to jack hammer them out and reinstalled them twice (now they are discolored and unlevel with the rest of the sundeck) 3. The interior finished was sloppily installed and they are trying to get out of doing it the right way by telling me discoloration and caked up colored cement in the corners is "normal" 4. The screen enclosure was leaking, the internal ceiling fan beams were never marked for the fan installers, and then the entire enclosure failed inspection. 5. We had improperly installed pavers that were not fixed correctly or not at all. When I questioned the owner after the first round of problems. I was told that indeed Dreamscapes manages the entire build from behind a desk. They never send anyone out, they have no site supervisor, no site Forman, and no one to oversee anything that happens during the build. This whole pool build experience has been the worst imaginable. The only thing that could have made it worse is if they ran off with my money. Most of the pool build experience more closely matches something you would expect when building a $30k budget pool with an inexperienced pool builder. I spent around $94k on a pool and screen enclosure through Dreamscapes. They charge a solid 15% more than completing pool companies in the area, but I was willing to pay more for what I thought was going to be a smooth professional install with quality craftsmanship. I can say their install has been far from that. I would HIGHLY recommend HIRING ANOTHER POOL COMPANY and staying far away from DREAMSCAPES if you want a high-quality pool AND a smooth build. Prior to selecting a Pool Builder I walked my neighborhood, jotted down the names of pool companies I saw being used and spoke to neighbors to get their insight.. There were so many homeowners in my community installing pools.. I chose Dreamscapes due to the amazing stories shared! Yes, I too agree this pool company is above stellar! From my initial contact with Dreamscapes Pool & Spa, to being under contract up to today's date they've provided nothing less than spectacular service!! Mike M. assisted in bringing my husband and my vision to life! He came to our home, very patiently assisted in capturing exactly what we wanted and needed, he didn't try to upsell us on equipment/ upgrades etc, he was a hoot to work with! MY point of contact was Missy R. who was definitely an angel sent!!! She has patience like Job, she immediately responds to your concerns/needs, she assist with a pleasant smile(it's displayed in her tone and texts), and she never made me feel like a bother- trust me, I promise I was however she was ALWAYS pleasant! Everyone at the company I came in contact with were very knowledgeable, professional, hands on, courteous, treat you like family not just a customer! My install took approx 5 months due to the pandemic... It was not as stressful and painful as I've heard other's process to be.. I've read on social media and heard horror story about pool builders, point of contact persons, issues with getting the pool they desired, being overcharged, ripped off, having subpar work done etc!! I was BLESSED! Dreamscape made this process seamless!! My pool's been finish for approx 3months however if I reach out to Missy, "MY" (wink wink) point of contact, she still responds AND answers my questions as if I was still under contract!! I would recommend Dreamscapes over any other pool company out there. From the sales department through warranty, just superb! The owners are great people who actually care about their customers.
