Often times when you think of a handyman, you equate it to a professional quality that is less impressive versus a contractor but this can't be further from the truth with Shawn and his team. The quality of their work is extremely good and because they are busy, you might need to be patient for them to get back but I'm glad we got connected. Over the period that we worked with Shawn, he is a honest, trustworthy, and sometimes humorous guy to deal with and I can see us using Shawn and his team for additional work around the houses we own and hopefully more in the future for many years to come.

This job, as all the others, was done meticulously. He cleaned out the crack, installed drywall screws and mesh, applied coats of mud and texture, then cleaned up well. Provided instructions on how to sand, prime and paint including photos of the the best primer and recommended sanding block. Scott focuses on his work, completes it quickly and it is perfection. We met in February and scheduled a start date of March 11. We were told someone would contact us the week prior to confirm paint colors, but we never received a call and had to follow up ourselves. On day one, the foreman did a walkthrough and said they would start upstairs. Only minimal prep work was completed on two bedrooms before the crew left early, promising to return the next morning. Day two was even more concerning. Only one worker showed up, the foreman was absent, and prep work was still incomplete by midday. We also observed workers frequently leaving to vape. I will say the project manager was responsive and communicative when I reached out, and did try to address concerns. That evening, a serious incident occurred. We were alerted via our Ring camera that there was an issue involving the crew and our neighbors. When I called the foreman, he stated they were disposing of paint by digging a hole and burying it on the property. Given how close our homes are, this understandably upset our neighbors. The situation escalated into a confrontation, resulting in police being called, and the crew was told to leave. When we returned home, prep work was still unfinished, no painting had been completed, and there was trash left behind. A new crew arrived on day three and completed the job in a single day, which highlighted how inefficient the previous crew had been. However, communication remained poor at the management level. I attempted multiple times to reach a supervisor but never received a callback before the weekend. While we were eventually offered compensation, it was not proactively handled. I had to follow up myself to address and correct the compensation, which added to the frustration and made it feel like resolving the issue was not a priority. Due to managing our children and my husband working a 48-hour shift, I couldn't fully inspect everything immediately. After noticing additional incomplete work, I reached out again and received no response. We've hired many service providers over the years and have never experienced anything like this. This project caused unnecessary delays in selling our home and added significant stress. Given the cost and importance of this work, we expected far better professionalism, communication, and accountability.

We called again this morning (10:50am) and a man answered the phone. We proceed to tell him the door issue. He wanted us to text him the issue we are having. After letting him know we don't text, he said he was driving and would call back in about ten minutes. The man has not yet called and it's now 5:07pm as I write this review. Now before commenting why can't you text? Here's why- my grandmother has tremors and she obviously doesn't have text or a smart phone. I get home from work today to hear this update from her and it's upsetting. How do you run a business and expect your customers to do the footwork for you by texting the problem they are having. You should be ready to do that as part of the customer service end, and most definitely call people back when you promise. I had really hoped this would work out as we have a list of things that we want done and wanted to start with the door as this is a priority issue. They lost a lot of business and probably a loyal customer. What bothers me most- their handling of our senior population.
