I purchased 3 8 ounce fillet mignons at Drew's Market for $67. All three fillets were tied up and after the string came off they all fell apart and were difficult to cut. We were disappointed we did not get center cut fillet mignons. If you purchase fillets at Drew's ask to make sure they are center cut or they won't be worth the $67 price point. Nice place and seemed like people but 1 star for not giving us center cut. Drew's was not trustworthy in looking out for the consumer experience. These were for a birthday dinner so very disappointing. I have been cooking beef tenderloin for over 50 years. The other day I prepared a center cut tenderloin from Drew's which, by far, was the best that I have ever had from either a butcher or a five star steakhouse. In addition to loving it myself, my wife and guests all made unsolicited comments on how great the meat tasted and how wonderful the texture of the meat was. Dropped by for the first time for a sandwich recently. Got Turkey with Muenster on a hero. The bread was was delicious, sandwich was a bit pricy for the size and amount of meat ($14 and change). The inside of this market leaves quite a bit to be desired. I wouldn't go so far as to say it looks dirty but it doesn't look nice. It's a bit messy and disorganized, not much in here market-wise either. They had some pastas and snacks, nothing much else. I saw the "under new management" sign so maybe they're in transition still, not sure. Service was fine and quick. I only tried the sandwich, but they had what you would expect of an Italian deli - prepared dishes and sides, cooked and raw meats for purchase, etc. read more

Stopped in Thursday around 3pm. With my daughter. Place was empty, no ac, hardly any food in cases. Bread was empty and there were bags of wonderbread, supermarket bagged bread.., just unbelievable!! I guess the new management is going out of business!! read more

Obviously its not just me... This place was empty at 1pm on a summer Saturday. As previously mentioned, the quality has definitely gone downhill since I've been here last. The meat counter is half the size it used to be - the pastas look old and sad. You used to get a pasta salad with a wrap - no more.... But who would want it, they aren't very flavorful or full of anything but pasta... and a couple of balls of mozzarella. It's a shame - this place used to be really awesome. read more

Our first clue was the place was empty when we walked in at 2 PM having just come from Joe Leone's in Point Pleasant where it was a mob scene with local borough cops having to direct traffic in and out of their parking lot so we left not wanting to deal with the chaos. Deciding to give Drew's a shot on the way home. On walking in our first observation was the meat in their case all looked old and uninviting and their prepared foods were all in various goopy looking sauces that had no appeal at all. But alas, we were there only to get a couple of Italian heroes so we ordered them along with a few pieces of fried chicken. We were both hungry so on entering our car in the parking lot we dived into the fried chicken only to find some dry, tasteless and over fried specimen of what has to be the worst fried chicken we have ever tasted. Immediately it went in the trash when we got home. Now for the clincher, we opened and sampled our heroes and much to our chagrin we had to nominate them as some of the worst heroes we have ever eaten. I once described my hero from the White House Sub Shop in Atlantic City as a meatwich. Ditto here for Drew's - a ton of meat and devoid of any flavor and unfortunately guess where they went - yep you got it, into the trash can on top of the chicken and our trash was now worth $27. So the moral of this story is we should have trusted our instincts. When we walked into this place and looked around we should have just made an about face and walked out and went somewhere else for our sandwiches. Our bad! read more

If you want the Best, look no further! The staff is friendly, knowledgable, and a delight. The Food is fresh, and I mean outstanding every SINGLE time I stock up from the Deli or order any of the scrumptious prepared meals. You can not miss this, if you are in the area a must-stop, a hometown store is worth the drive every time, it's worth the SHOW. I've only been here once but something tells me I'd update this to 5 stars after a few more visits. I walked in on a Friday afternoon to try one of their sandwiches for lunch and was immediately greeted. I placed my order for the EverRoast chicken on a wrap with smoked gouda, lettuce and tomato. While the friendly gentleman behind the counter prepared my wrap, I surveyed the awesome variety of prepared foods - everything from baked meats and seafood to homemade cold salads and warm desserts. I wasn't in the market for any of that at the time but decided to grab a bottle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar from the little section of take home groceries. Prices are higher than your average grocery store but this is place has that mom and pop feel that is hard to find these days - everything comes with a tradeoff. I took my wrap home to eat and was really satisfied with the generous helping of meat on both halves. I actually ended up saving the second half and having it for dinner, so good value for the price. The side of pasta salad was delicious! From what I could tell, it was tossed in olive oil and herbs with a nice hint of pesto. I would literally order that by the pound for a larger group or party! This isn't the place to go if you want to sit and eat, but Drew's is a sure thing when it comes to quality food and friendly/fast service. read more

We ended up getting a grilled spring lake wrap and a turkey and cheese sandwich on a wheat bun- that was actually my favorite. It was soooo good. lot of turkey and very fresh. The grilled spring lake wrap for me was ok- thought the chicken was a little rubbery and it was cold. I thought the chicken should be served warm. The service was really friendly. I've been a longtime customer and have always loved this market and butcher. I must say, the quality is declining and they are skimping on items that used to be a staple (I.e. the turkey LBs are now individually wrapped prior to purchase, in a tiny container, and now you have to purchase extra sauce (which was always included). When I first experienced this a few weeks ago I figured it was because I was there minutes before closing. I was mistaken and this is their new norm.) Looks like I will be looking for a new butcher. So stoped by and happy to see boars head products. There was only one other customer there but i had to stand at the deli for a few minutes before anyone acknowledged me. After ordering a half pound of ham this employee with a scruffy appearance told me i had to wait because the one slicer was being used. After the slicer was used to cut two different types of cheese,scruffy was going to slice my ham without cleaning the machine. No thank you. Lots of food, and it's all really, really good. Prices are pretty high, but that's what you expect from a specialty deli. My favorite from here is their marinated chicken kebabs. Chicken, onions, and peppers sliced up on a stick for you to throw on the grill at home. I also like to get a bunch of their frozen meals when I'm restocking my freezer. They're easy to grab and go for a weekday lunch at work and they're much better than boxed frozen meals you'd find at a supermarket. read more

This butcher/deli has a large selection of marinated meats as well, which are perfect for throwing on the grill (when you forget to take something out for dinner). They also have a lot of prepared foods like eggplant parm, meatballs, chicken fingers, etc. for a quick lunch or for a large party (they cater). Recently, we stopped in to try their sandwiches and were very happy with the Italian sub ($8.99) and the "sloppy joe wrap" ($8.99) served with a side of pasta salad. Delicious! Original Jersey Boy (now living in the mountains of north Georgia) facing a road trip back to the Garden State for a family event...tasked my sister with finding me an absolutely 100% genuine hoagie for the drive back. (The South is nice but down here they do not know what a real hoagie is, alas.) Sister came through big time by ordering from Drew's. Meats, cheeses, breads all fresh and flavorful. The hoagies (three for the road!) were not only fantastic, they brought on a nice wave of longing for the Garden State. Ah, if only I could figure a way to have them shipped from Drew's daily. I love Drew's , I love their variety of salads, prepared foods, catering, ready to grill meats, and groceries. They really helped me out of a jam on Memorial Day weekend when I called SUNDAY morning for a few trays of food to pick up the same day and they were able to accommodate me, and even carried everything out to the car for me. First I want to say I used to come here constantly for many of their specialty items in the case i.e.. chicken cacciatore, pasta specials, butter steaks, pot pies and even bolognese sauce. However, now I really only come for a few tings that have maintained their used to be 5 star rating. I love the people who work here but even that seems on and off lately. We have catered here in the past and as I said used to come here quite often but something is off lately. The cases have had days where I decided to only buy maybe one thing and avoid the rest because things looked old. I don't know if maybe they have had a few hard months with the summer being over but then downsize the selection so it all is as good as it used to be. Still amazing are the chicken pot pies ( no one can touch theirs) In the meat department the butter steaks will always be king. As far as people, I don't know what is going on but "old school favorite people are gone who knew exactly what you wanted when you walked in and no one seems to want to talk about it? Anyway, I always loved the place... something seems to be off, I assume business is struggling (it's hard to be a shore hot spot during slower season) but in any case I will keep coming back to but what they still show well but I can't give 5 star anymore... read more

So disappointed...ordered what I thought was a nice selection of food....hot and cold for my granddaughters christening......first.....I have had Drew's catered food many times and liked it......the chicken marsala was not made with the very distinctive marsala wine.....so basically it was chicken in a brown gravy with some mushrooms.....the summer vegetables must have been made days earlier.....they smelled terrible and the color was very dark. . No one out of 35 people went near it.....and lastly....I upgraded to a Greek salad.... 49.50.....it was good...but probably was enough for 8.....crazy......upon returning the wire chafers for my deposit....I calmly let a very nice woman at the register know that I was very disappointed......she took my number and assured me that John would want to know and would return my call....36 hours later no call.......shame on Drew's market.....I won't return..... read more
