When my food was brought out, they brought us extra sides that we didn't ask for but we were charged. Rice was undercooked, picanha was delicious, veggies delicious. I ordered the ribeye. One side was overcooked and the other was under. The temperature couldn't be more inconsistent. To top everything off, we were charged a twenty percent automatic gratuity. With a party of 11 to celebrate a birthday, they accommodated us with no problem, very flexible. Rudy our waiter was very friendly, professional and patient with us. We all ordered the Rodizio and were very happy we did. The hot and cold buffet offered a large selection of salads, vegetables and proteins (including meats!) as well as sides for the main course. We knew enough not to fill up with the carbs to save room for the meats. We would have been happy with just the buffet! The Rodizio came out hot, fast and nonstop. They come out first with chicken and pork, wait for the good stuff! The Pincanha was my favorite, along with the filet mingon and other steaks. The short ribs were chewy (maybe just a bad cut) and the lamb was gamey according to a guest - otherwise excellent. Try the grilled pineapple - very good. We had 3 large bottles of wine turned into sangria to 'die for'. Highly recommended. One thing I did not like was the bill included an automatic 20% tip (fine that's what I usually tip) but added another line for a tip. Maybe it's what they all do now but I believe 20% is generous. How many people didn't realize and tipped 40% by accident! Also strangely, they don't have voicemail, so if you call on a Tuesday (when they are closed) no machine picks up so you think they are out of business. That's a simple fix. Stopped in for happy hour and sat at the bar. The place was mostly empty and the bartender was very attentive. We each ordered the Belmar Beach Vacation since it described my week perfectly. It was very good but a little light on the alcohol. We shared the Churassco Platter and it came with a huge basket of French fries and a side of the little cheesy muffin things. Everything was tasty and well seasoned but a bit salty. It came with picanha, garlic chicken and sausage. The board was more than two of us could eat so we brought the rest home. I took a look at the salad bar and it was pretty extensive with hot items in a separate area. This is an excellent an unique steakhouse specifically in how service is rendered regarding the rodizio menu. This includes waiters coming around and present different cuts of meat, filet mignon, pork, skirt steak, and others. Additionally they would come around with mozzarella cheese and drizzle it with a little honey. That tasted great, as well as the BBQ pineapple. What a great place ! We went to celebrate my brothers 40th. He loves meat. All meat. All the time so my sister in law knew this would be a hit. We found parking on the street easily. This was a special day and they were able to accommodate all of us easily and didn't mind we brought in some decorations. It's a byob for a few more days while they get their license so that was nice to save some money. It was 60$ a person and we for sure ate our moneys worth. Our server was super friendly and attentive. Made sure we had everything we needed. Dirty dishes were cleared quickly. Service is spot on. There were two buffets and there was something for everyone. I am Brazilian and extremely familiar with rodizio (all that you can eat) in Brazil, in the US and elsewhere. This has been by far the worst ever! The so called buffet basically had just leftovers. The meats where tasteless and dry, as if they had been prepared many hours ago. The service was slow and I had to ask for the pao de queijo (cheese bread) as they didn't bring it. Anyway, it was stale... After hoping for a while that things would improve, I gave up and asked for the check. Upon receiving it, I noticed that they automatically added 20% as gratuity. I believe it is the patron's decision on how much to tip and questioned it, as tips normally are included in case of large parties and I was solo. I was told that it is done "by the system" and they have no means to override it. Then they said it is disclaimed on the website and on the front door. I did not check the website but definitely there wasn't any notice on the door. They told me that the staff do not get that money as it is kept by the restaurant. I am not sure if this practice is legal. I ended up paying $84 for a bad meal and a bottle of water. By the way, the staff member told me that even though they get a discount, they don't eat there and encouraged me to post my experience. I love rodizo and Brazilian churrascaria style meats Table for 4 with reservations was no issue with a 10 minute wait for the table. The restaurant is on the smaller side but the selection on their Salad bar, and side dishes makes up for it. Is it Texas de brazil or Platforma, no but for the convenience and warm service I will be back. I was impressed for a few reasons, the meat was very good quality and the gauchos made sure that the variety of temperature requests were accommodated. The sausage was perfect as was the short ribs, pichana, and garlic sirloin. The grilled pineapple always is the perfect way to end a meal. There was a birthday and they sang and offered a complimentary slice of cheese for the table which was unexpected and appreciated. BYOB, they will make sangria for you if you provide the wine. Parking in the winter was fairly simple although I can see an issue during the summer as Belmar is a bustling beach town. Good experience overall and a solid value at $60 a person. There was nothing on the site saying that we needed to have a reservation so when we showed up they asked if we had a reservation, I explained that we didn't and they turned us away because they said they had no more room for the night for walk-ins. My boyfriend then went online and through Google set up a reservation for 15 minutes later. I have to say that was a little bit poor customer service because they did have the room. The salad and side bar was a great addition to all of the meat they would bring out throughout the night. This place is all about the experience as well. You pay one price and they bring out the different meats all night. It is a bit pricey for a group but it's great for a date setting to have things constantly come to the table. My one complaint was the variety. It seemed like the same style of meat was coming out every time. We really enjoyed the churasco but didn't see it for the rest of the night. Just doing a Happy Hour sit at bar here today and my impression is very favorable. All appetizers half price so I tried the Brazilian beef empanadas as well as the garlic shrimp. Both were tasty indeed and all draft and bottle beer at $3 was a sweet deal. Mixed drinks on happy hour as well. But unfortunately no wine on happy hour is a failing on their part. I'm a wine drinker and so are many people in this day and age. Ergo four stars and not five. While here I perused their salad bar which is over the top but i'm not certain i would pony up the $24.95 for unlimited grazing. Keep in mind though, their claim to fame is the never ending Brazilian meat sliced at your table. If this is your thing - go for it! Restaurant called us to cancel our lunch reservation we made in advance for Mother's Day weekend because they had a huge group coming in (we were only a party of 4!). They wanted us to come in for dinner instead (and offered free dessert) but we were unable to do make it for dinner. So the reservation was cancelled completely, had to break the disappointing news to a Mother-in-Law who was looking forward to trying this place, and they have lost a customer forever. Celebrated my husband and I's 3rd anniversary here the other day. Funny enough, I'm not a big meat eater and mostly came for the buffet portion. For drinks, my husband got the Pineapple Juice and I got the Pineapple with Mint. It was more like a smoothie and quite tasty! The buffet had a lot of variety and good choices. The only thing that disappointed me was the marinated mushrooms. Someone got a little excited for that salt shaker, they were SO salty. I had to stop eating those after 1 mushroom. The meat that I did try was so tender and seasoned very well. They had these small sausage which again, were SUPER salty. I didn't even finish one. My husband tried all the meat that came around and he loved all of them. Although the best thing of the night of the pineapple, so refreshing. It tasted like it had some brown sugar and/or cinnamon on it, it was my favorite thing by far. I wish they gave me more of it. We had to request it, they weren't really coming around with it. Lastly, we got the Coconut Flan for dessert and the Chocolate Layer Cake. It might have been the best Flan I've ever had! As for the layer cake, it was very chocolatey but dry. The food is what is to be expected of a rodizio style restaurant. We've even had Fogo deChao and tbh... they're all very similar. The meat at first was very tough. The servers didn't ask how we wanted our steak, they just served us well done. When we told them we wanted it medium, they obliged quickly! Thank God! The meats were much better at that temp as expected. Now, what I didn't like was a few things: 1) our server, Matt, was very short with us. 2) We were told that we couldn't have appetizers unless we sat at the bar but then we couldn't have rodizio. We were told that we had to eat at the buffet... DURING A PANDEMIC! Mind you, no one had on masks beside us... not even the servers! WHY WOULD WE WANT TO EAT THE BUFFET???!
