Our visit to Drew's was on a Sunday evening so the vibe was very subdued and may not reflect what it is like on a hopping Saturday night. The butternut squash ravioli were enjoyably sweet with both pumpkin and apple pie notes. The pasta was firm, maybe a little gummy but enjoyable. The BBQ chicken pizza was extraordinary. I've literally never had such an indulgent yet thin and crispy pizza. The cheese was so luscious it reminded me of a béchamel sauce and the presentation was very sharp. We eagerly ate every crumb. Let me start with this, if you can, request Rob as your server. Bar none, he absolutely made our experience top notch. Super helpful, charming, attentive-I would come back just to sit again in his section. We were out and about on a Saturday afternoon and stopped in for brunch. They do have a bottomless mimosa special but since we had to drive back to Wisconsin, we opted for a single cocktail. Drew's has a full bar and a great cocktail menu. I oped for the Old Fashioned and it didn't disappoint-perfectly boozy. Just like their cocktail menu, their food menu is also extensive. We ordered the garden omelet and the crabcake benedict. The burger was cooked to temp. V juicy ! Patty was just a touch on the tough side. And wow did they not skimp on the bacon. Fries were a standout: golden, crisp, and seasoned just right. The bacon-wrapped dates were fabulous - gooey and salty. Served with bread which is an interesting choice--but the bread won me over. Soft chewy texture with a delicate crispy crust. We also tried one of their cauliflower crust pizzas. The crust was nicely done--not mushy like some can be, just a bit soft but held up well under the toppings. Eight there Friday night on our way to the theater the annoyance theater, which was really annoying and my wife had a margarita pizza which she said was the best she ever had. I had a great salad and not so great piece of fish on the menu, they didn't say that they fried it it was our waiters first night working there he was from Columbia nice fellow, very efficient and the cherry pie that they make in house for dessert was terrific and they had a good cup of coffee so I'm gonna give this one four stars because of the fish if you're gonna fry a piece of fish, you should say that on the menu read more

Unfortunately, this was both my first and last time dining here. I ordered the garlic mashed potatoes. What arrived was very bland and without any garlic. I mentioned this to our server, who admitted that the kitchen sometimes forgets to add the sautéed garlic (which is listed on the menu) and said she'd bring some out. What I received instead was a cup of raw garlic. Image attached. When I let her know I wouldn't be adding raw garlic to my meal, she offered to microwave it--which was baffling. I declined and asked for the dish to be removed from the bill since it went completely untouched. Even then, the $7 charge wasn't removed until it was discussed with the owner. The rest of the food (calamari, crab cakes, risotto, and a burger) was underwhelming, especially for a $100+ meal. Between the food quality and the poor service and communication, it was a disappointing experience all around. read more

I was actually very pleasantly surprised by this place. I was here for restaurant week and while I had some thoughts on the selection, I would say that the food was way better than expected. My problems with Restaurant Week didn't derail my feeling and I actually want to go back here due to the food and service. To get the weird menu problem out of the way, there shouldn't be a $45 menu. The drink selections are confusing and for $60, you get an absolute steal. I originally wanted to do the $45 because I thought that the $60 was too much food, but ended up going with that because of the drink selections. I went with the Elton John Old Fashioned which was only ok. It was a little syrupy, but made due. Again, $60 packaged deal came with the drink so I cannot complain too much. As for the food, it might be some of the best that I have had in a long time. I was surprised how good it was and this launched it to 5 stars for me! I went with the Potato Soup which was excellent. I was hoping for a little more, but since I was worried about finishing everything, it was a good portion. Next, I got the shrimp cocktail which I thought was the most underrated dish I had. Perfect jumbo shrimp and a quite excellent cocktail sauce. I am usually not the biggest fan, but it had enough spice to make it perfect. I tried to stay "light" and went with the lemon chicken with mashed potatoes. Wow, what a portion! I got what appears to be two breasts which was more than enough. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The potatoes were good too, but they were pretty standard. Finished up with the bread pudding which again, was a little on the smaller end, but was very very good! I hope this is on the regular menu because I would come back for more. I left stuffed so that was $60 well spent. To be honest, it was probably a steal for $60. The service was excellent as well along with the flow of the courses. This place has some real pros. Probably the only other "downside" is the place is a little small. They can't serve that many people which is probably why the service and quality is so good. I would certainly go back here for a meal. I am curious on their brunch now! A treasure on the Lincoln Park area. Warmly met in a casual atmosphere that managed to make you feel welcomed. Somehow you could feel that these owners/servers were there to give you a terrific dining experience and they were proud of their product. During Chicago Restaurant Week, they offered the most generous menu and it was delicious...bar beverage included . We celebrated Mom & Dad's birthdays at Drew's during Restaurant Week. A delectable 4-course meal plus a premium cocktail for a super affordable price. First Course: We had the Soup of the Day which was Ham, Bacon and Navy Bean, and the Gathered Greens Salad with Champagne Shallot Vinaigrette. Both dishes were incredibly tasty. I DEVOURED the salad. Honestly, it was a pretty basic salad, but probably 1 of the best tasting starter salads I've ever had. Second Course: Duck Confit Risotto and Butternut Squash Ravioli. CHEF'S KISS! The crispy apples gave a nice amount of sweetness to the ravioli. The risotto was creamy, hearty, and melted in your mouth. Third Course: Between us, we had the Grilled 10oz NY Strip Steak Frites, Vegetarian Pasta, Duck Leg & Thigh Confit, and Cajun Penne Pasta. I was nervous that the Cajun Pasta was going to be too spicy, but it wasn't. It gave a little kick, but nothing too overpowering. The star was definitely the duck. The skin was nice and crispy and the meat was super tender. The sauce was a tad salty, but it definitely didn't stop us from enjoying it. Fourth Course: We had the Bread Pudding, Key Lime Pie, Lava Cake, and Cherry Pie. My favorites were definitely the Bread Pudding and Key Lime Pie (when I tasted it, I literally said "oh that's LIME!). We needed a bite to eat after the Cubs game and stumbled upon this place across the street from our parking garage. Our waiter, Rob, was welcoming and friendly. I ordered a rosemary parm veggie bowl and the flavors were blended beautifully together. It made me excited to be eating veggies! Amazing food, friendly service and nicely made drinks. I stopped in mainly for the pornstar martini and was thrilled with the entirety of the meal. The calamari was made perfect. No rubbery pieces and perfectly distributed of delicious breading. For my entree I got the duck thigh and breast 10/10. So far one of the few Chicago restaurants I'll be back to. Loved the atmosphere and the artwork in the bathroom. My husband and I managed to snag a last minute reservation at Drew's last Saturday night. We were meeting some online friends face-to-face for the first time, and one of them had never been to Chicago, so we wanted to give them a dining experience along Halsted Street or on Clark Street in Andersonville. We could not have been more delighted with the atmosphere, service and the food. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a smile from two friendly hostesses, and the place with jumping with patrons and a musician playing a keyboard and singing Christmas songs. They had a lovely, live Christmas tree behind the hostess stand. Our server was friendly and super efficient, and came to our table right away to take drink orders and greet us with a hello. Their cocktails are priced lower than most places and the serving sizes were generous. The menu is filled with many appetizers and dinner options at a wide range or price points. Several of us ordered the Halsted Street burger. With Maytag blue cheese, thick bacon and a side of parmesan truffle French fries, it was truly one of the best burgers that I have had in a long time. The other appetizers and entrees ordered at our table were equally as delicious. After our meal, the hostess helped us take a photo of our group. The outdoor patio, wonderful service, and tasty food made for a relaxing and romantic dinner on a not so busy Sunday evening. Our waiter Rob was just fantastic. The rapport he builds with his tables makes for a memorable time. He even asked if we wanted to move to the "best outdoor table" where there was more shade. Small moments like that make the meal even more enjoyable. The shrimp cocktail appetizer was tasty and had a wasabi sauce that wasn't too overpowering. I would say they could add a couple more shrimp on with the price it is. Both main dishes were delicious. The Cod Sandwich was on the special menu, so if it's there, get it while you can. Fries had a nice seasoning on them and didn't need any ketchup. The duck was succulent and had the perfect amount of sauce. He said the cook was beautiful, but it only came with two carrots. He wished he got more of the sides, but the portion of duck was well worth the price. We had a wonderful and cozy time; it has the perfect balance of lively and quaint. The halloween decorations were amazing and lighting was really comfortable. And now to the food of course: we split the brie grape pizza and loved it(not my favorite pizza ever but fun to try), french fries(can't go wrong), and a bottle of wine - it was the perfect amount of food for a price that didn't break the bank. One of the best brunch places I've been to in the city. It started off rocky because I checked in with the host for my reservation and he said they 'were running behind'..when I asked how far behind, he said 'a little behind'. A few minutes after though, he was reconfirming with everyone outside how many were in their party. 10 mins later, me and my party were seated. Once inside and we were seated, it was the best time. We all had each of the mimosa options. The pear was a favorite so we ordered 2 additional rounds of that flavor. I ordered the 2 eggs, over medium, with bacon. No complaints with it. The eggs whites part were so fluffy and good. Potatoes were on point. One friend ordered the chilaquiles and the other had the Tex Mex Omelet. Both were good from what I understand. Shoutout to the Drew's staff! I asked in my reservation for a patient server, since I'd be dining with my mom who has dementia, and the Drew's staff really came through. The host staff welcomed us warmly and were patient as we slowly made our way to the table. Our serve, Rob, was outstanding! He wrote his name on the white butcher paper covering the table, checked in frequently, helped with menu recommendations, and was extremely friendly and patient. I've been meaning to write this review for a long time. We had another fabulous dinner and drinks at Drew's on Halsted yesterday. We have eaten and drank here on several occasions and it has become one of our favorite places to eat when we are in the city. Everything we've tried on the menu (and we've tried quite a lot) has been incredible. Great presentation and full flavor entrees and appetizers. I neglected to picture the martini that I had on this particular visit but the drinks are always top notch with great mixologist preparing them.
