We saved enough which allowed us to buy the 84 month. 80K mile Gold plus warranty. This car has so many computers that I won't need to worry about the coverage expiring. It also covers the turbo charged engine and the transmission. You also get 2 years with of maintenance included. This is a very solid car and has plenty of power from the engine. The best part for me is the seat extension that pulls out under the drivers seat to support your legs on long drives. Kind of like sitting in a recliner chair. We also love the ventilated and heated seats! A Toyota Highlander and Honda Pilot were much more expensive. read more

I asked them to repair the engine on 2013 Forester, if and only if they could resolve the oil consumption problem and make it road worthy again. I also told them that other mechanics had recommended engine replacement. Therefore, I asked they not do the work, if that was the outcome. They said they could fix it and resolve the problem. Almost $1700.00 later, they handed the car back to me, I asked if it would run safely now, and they said yes. Maybe an alternator will go out or some other unrelated problem but that happens on older cars. I repeated-but the engine is otherwise good to go now. They said yes. I paid. I get home, the engine light is back on, and, get this-the printout they gave me said that compression was low in the number 2 cylinder. Their printout: "Findings indicate engine failure". They did the work, then tested to find that out, and then told me it was good to go. read more

They sent a "new guy" over to give my group a test drive of a car that I wasn't truly interested in purchasing... then couldn't find the keys to the car I wanted to test drive. I spent 10 am -1:30 on a Sat AM and ended up leaving and BUYING a car from a competitor. I watched an additional interested buyer come into the lot, scope out the vehicles and then leave without any interaction from the staff. He was driving an older model Subaru, and he got out, and looked at many vehicles with no assistance. He drove off much quicker than I did! I am not sure what the business manager of Subaru had going on, but selling cars to motivated buyers was not his priority. Brought our Subaru in for a service appointment. From start to finish I had issues with our experience. I had a couple of simple questions. The gentleman that spoke with me spoke quickly and rushed me. Worse off, he was condescending and demeaning as he tried to explain why my requests were essentially inconvenient and ill timed. Additionally, he was visibly irritated trying to explain how the software updates work, rather than seeking to understand and finding out I didn't understand the function of them, and just assumed that was a thing that would happen regularly. Cherry on top, he was sweet as pie when my husband showed up and seemed to have no issues communicating with him. They include a car cleaning with the service check, and failed to vacuum the car. And would have charged $350 for front brake pads and rotor resurfacing. The service check itself was around $175 for them to "visually inspect" a number of things and basically perform an oil and filter change. I don't plan on continuing our business here. read more

I had a great experience here with some service and warranty concerns for my Subaru Forester. Staff was super friendly and easy to work with. They got me scheduled in right away to have parts replaced. There was a problem with my Bluetooth in my radio and they spent nearly 30 to 40 minutes at an unscheduled visit trying to find the problem. Multiple people were asked and tried to help. Repeatedly the Worst service imaginable, don't take your car to Dreyer & Reinbold Subaru. 3 visits in a row we were misdiagnosed (various problems, not the same issues), not repaired, billed for repairs not provided, obviously the vehicle wasn't test driven of repair checked or verified before returning the vehicle to us and the service writer had no idea of the history of the vehicle and constantly assured us the vehicle was fine and then made endless excuses for why things weren't fixed, done properly, etc. Dealing with their service department has been pure frustration, excuses, disappointment, needless trips for us and expensive. There is obviously no quality control whatsoever. My story is too long to go into detail but I hope you read this and go to another Subaru dealer and save yourself the headaches. Anyone can have a bad experience, lets face it it happens to all of us. But it cant be 3 visits in a row. We took the Outback to a local independent shop who IMMEDIATELY and ACCURATELY identified the problems. To say that we are disappointed is an understatement... On Aug. 14, 2019 we took our 2009 Subaru Legacy into Dreyer & Reinbold Subaru because the car had oil in the spark plug tubes. We chose that location because we wanted people that were educated and experienced on Subaru vehicles. Since then we've had to return on four different occasions over the course of three weeks because of inconsistent multi point inspections, technician errors and lack of communication. After repairing valve cover gaskets, sway bar links, axels with CV boots and replacing a leaking antifreeze hose totaling over $1500, we picked up the car and noticed a loud screeching noise whenever the wheel turned before we even left the parking lot. We refused to pick up the car at the time until the issue was resolved. The next day we were informed that the belt needed tightened and that is was an easy fix. The Service Consultant expressed that he was surprised that it was just the belt that needed tightening due to him observing the power steering pump being damp. We drove away onto the highway and noticed that the steering wheel was violently shaking when reaching speeds above 45MPH. We took the car back to find that the tires had been put on incorrectly. We picked up the car again and after approximately one week, the car screeched and locked up to the point that it was undriveable. The power steering fluid was bubbling out of the reservoir and the pump was leaking fluid. Upon taking the car back, we were informed that it needed a new power steering pump. After frustration was expressed to Service Manager, Russell Stevens he said he was unsure if it was the part going bad or the error of his technicians so he said that he would cover the labor to replace the power steering pump part and take 10% off of the part. He said that that was the best he could do unless we opted to replace the head gaskets for an additional $2000. We declined and paid approx. $400 for a new pump. We picked up the car for the last time expecting a fully functioning vehicle. Upon picking up the vehicle we were informed by the Service Consultant (right before we got into the car to drive away) that the technicians expressed concern about the battery however in the multipoint inspection that was performed for this visit, showed that the vehicle battery had PASSED and that there was no designation of caution. We drove away and had the car intermittently violently shake when driving on the highway. After parking the car and attempting to start it, no less than 30 minutes after leaving the dealership, the car would not start. We called Russell Stevens directly and were told that while he was sorry that we were inconvenienced, he did not know why the battery was not detected on the multipoint inspection and that he "cannot observe the turning of every bolt." He went on to say that he felt it was not a battery issue and that the cause of the wheel shaking was likely a cause of our doing. We asked Russell to clarify why the Service Consultant informed us of concerns raised by the technicians despite it not being listed on our multi point inspection. He stated that he would discuss it with the Service Consultant and call us back. We never received a call back from the Russell, the Service Manager. Instead the Service Consultant called back. We were extremely disappointed that despite giving them four tries and $2000 later, our car is still not running correctly. If you value a working car, ability to properly diagnose car issues and accountability from management then, DON'T BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE. read more

I am so upset at this dealership's service dept. I took my Subaru in for a recall repair a couple of months ago. They told me that my head gasket was leaking, and wanted $2,800.00 to fix it. I should point out that I am an obviously-disabled senior citizen living only on Social Security. I didn't have the money, and have spent the last two months worried sick about it. Yesterday, I took my vehicle to a different service center for an oil change and tires. The manager told me in no uncertain terms that my head gasket was NOT leaking. He got upset that they had told me that. I won't return to Dreyer/Reinhold, and I would not recommend them to anyone. If they would try to cheat a disabled senior, how honest would they be with anyone else? What a sad world we live in. :( read more

I love my Subaru. Had an 03 Forester and was hooked on the brand ever since. Their customer service is only one more feather in their cap, one more reason to keep coming back. I had an airbag recall on my 08 Outback, and as one would expect, the repair and a loaner vehicle were free for as long as needed. I ended up with a 2017 Forester, which while much larger than I'm used to, was a fantastic daily driver. The service went well. I dealt with Stephanie Bowman, a charming woman with a refreshing smile and all the answers, and I was well informed with services they recommended, they cautioned, and that they passed me on. It was great to be allowed to be a part of that process, rather than feel like I was being jerked be a dealer. Dealerships have that rep of being way more expensive than a standalone shop, and that certainly seemed true for some services, but for the diagnostics and oil change, it was very reasonable. I will say though, I was quoted only about a third of the actual cost of the oil change. Stephanie stepped up and honored the mistake, which was awesome. This is the closest dealership to me, so all of my Subie swag will most certainly be purchased here (except for the coveted National Park Subaru Outback blanket that Bloomington's Royal Subaru seems to exclusively hold nearby) and I feel comfortable continuing to be a staunch Subaru fan. No doubt my next car will also have the 6 star cluster as well. read more

My husband and I both look young. We are in our early thirties, but just have young faces, and I sometimes get ID'd for rated R movies... this is important to this dealership review because I believe they treated us differently because they thought we were young and wouldn't actually buy a car from them. We walked around the lot for 45 minutes, seeing numerous salesmen, none of which spoke to us, until I finally had to approach someone and ask for assistance. He sent a salesmen over...20 minutes later, who treated us like we just wanted to joy-test drive the cars. We were both frustrated, but did find the car we wanted. We were so annoyed that we actually talked about leaving and ordering the Subaru we wanted from a different dealership, just so this one wouldn't get the commission. We stuck it out, and I think the salesmen finally realized we weren't stupid kids when negotiating with us. They just made the whole thing harder than it needed to be. The loaner vehicle was an even trade to the value of my vehicle being serviced, which meant a lot since I live an hour away and the weekend had almost started. Haven't had any negatives with this dealership yet besides 2 years ago when I wanted to buy a new car, cash, but no one was there to assist me. Overall, service department went smoothly. Long story short, I arrived in my old college car as I was willing to make a trade that day for a new car. I guess I must have looked poor as I felt the salesman I spoke with wasn't interested in selling me a car. He made me feel stupid for asking a couple questions, was unwilling to find the answers for questions he didn't know the answer to, and when I asked about financing he wasn't even willing to talk to the 'finance guys' as 'that wasn't his job.' An extremely disappointing experience. I was willing to buy a car that day. Instead I drove over 3hr to another dealer the very next day whom I spoke with on the phone. After being told at Dryer I 'might get a couple hundred knocked off if I was lucky' I got a MUCH MUCH MUCH better deal at the other place and enjoyed the afternoon at their dealership talking with genuine people plus a free tank of gas for the long drive. Talk about a stark contrast! Spend almost 3hr at Dryer feeling like we weren't welcome and pulling teeth to get answers vs a 15min phone conversation ending in a deal I was very happy with and a 3hr drive to pick up my new Subaru. That's a no brainer in my book. Yes I'm a poor student at the moment but once I'm able to afford nicer cars and purchase them more frequently, I can promise none of them will ever be purchased at this dealership and I will let my future colleagues know the same. read more
