Nick and his crew from Avid were with us for five-plus days, chipping, grinding stumps, fishing widow-makers out of the treetops, lightening crowns of the oldest trees to lessen wind resistance, thinning out dead and unhealthy trees, cutting the downed wood into firewood-size chunks for us.
