Food: should've known that expectations for food were down in the dumps when we asked what wine…read morethey had and instead of saying regions or vintages, our waitress listed types of wine. The Cabernet was cloyingly sweet and set the tone for a pretty meh meal. The pork chops I ordered can only be described as tasting like shoe leather. They were some of toughest I ever had and I highly regret ordering it. Salad was also WAY too salty. My wife ordered a salad where half of the ingredients were missing because they were out of it. Key elements like candied pecans and the dressing were missing. I know it's off season but the lack of ingredients and the lack of cooking finesse are inexcusable for a restaurant. Service: server was nice. However, she neglected to tell us various things were out of stock including half of the ingredients on the salad. It's almost laughable, one of the main menu items was a ribeye, and they were out of that. We had a reservation at 5pm so it's crazy that they were out of stock of so many things at that time of day. Ambiance: very crazy and unique atmosphere as far as the decorations and the menu descriptions. However it felt too much at times, and the lack of music in the restaurant kind of killed the mood.

We show up and there is a sign on the door that says "temporarily closed." Tell me why we got a confirmation text confirming our reservation when they are obviously not open. We called them multiple times throughout the day and got voicemail. The voicemail never said they were temporarily closed. I am disappointed by the way that this was handled by them!

My favorite home-cooking place is now a 1-2 star facility. It makes me sad to write this review,…read morebut others need to know, and most importantly, their management needs to know for serious improvement! The food is AMAZING, but the service is horrible. For being such a huge foodie, I never thought bad service would allow me to write a bad review. After all, I eat out for the FOOD, and I put up with almost anything for great food! However, 9 times out of 10 you just cannot deal with the service here anymore. Ms. Donna is a great lady, and her food is some of the best breakfast and lunch around Grand Lake. However, her staff (and the lack thereof) has ruined the place, and it's usually the same two waitresses. One of them is very nice, but not attentive, and the other one is not friendly with a very unprofessional demeanor (yes, even for a casual diner). I cannot wait 15 minutes for a waitress to come by just to hand me a menu, 10 minutes just to order a drink, another 20 minutes to receive my drink, an hour to receive my food then sitting with an empty drink the whole time because the waitress never comes by while eating for refills. Forget ever asking for anything, you only see them to get one initial drink order and your food served. Their wait staff is truly terrible. I've been going to Ms. Donna's for two years because I love it so much, but today's service was so bad, it ended my relationship with the place. The waitress saw us walk in, sit down, and never came over. There were two of us who waited for 15 minutes, and there were only about 4-5 other tables with people eating. This place is small to begin with, and so it's not that difficult to bring menus and drinks in a timely manner. Again, it makes me sad to write this, but enough is enough. If Ms. Donna had a new waitstaff and improved customer service, this place would be 5 stars in my book. If you still want to try it out, I recommend ordering take-out, then pick it up and eat it at home to avoid the annoyance and stress of dining in. The food is worth it!

The food was average. The owner should of told us it was gonna be a long wait. The waitress did a great job had a great attitude and apologised ,while the owner did absolutely nothing to make the Customer happy. I wasn't asking for a free meal however she could of comped a percentage off the bill instead of arguing with the customer. I run my own business and I will do whatever the Customer wants to make them happy
