During our stay in Corolla, Driftwood was the spot I chose for my lattes. The espresso at this spot was delicious, and the flavor list is pretty good! The location is tucked back off of 12, right off Hunt Club Dr. The staff were friendly and efficient. The cafe itself fits the Outer Banks vibe - light, airy, and beach. This coffee shop is tucked back in a shopping center near the rental home where we are staying in Corolla. Location is very convenient but if it weren't for a sign on the main road pointing "coffee" I would drive by and miss this place. (It's not visible from the road.) Cute interior, with some comfy chairs and a few tables. There are a few seats outside as well. In addition to the coffee and food Opperm mugs, there was a case of jewelry inside, with some jewelry for sale. And some cute coffee shop mugs with perfectly-sized handles, really wanted one but didn't want to spend $38, the price for one mug. I ordered a cappuccino with an extra shot of espresso. It was the perfect temp and tasted great. Service was quick... there were a few customers in the shop when we arrived, and others walking in as we were leaving. read more

I stopped here on my way out of town. I ordered the White Chocolate latte. This is the best coffee shop coffee I have ever had! The atmosphere was neat. They have handmade mugs, shirts, hats, some artisan items, and bagged coffee. This would be a great spot to catch up with a friend or get some work done. My fiancé and I went shortly after they opened and it wasn't busy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I don't drink coffee much so my fiancé and the staff were able to figure out just what I needed. I got a vanilla iced latte and my fiancé got a caramel iced latte. Both were very delicious! So happy to have a nice coffee shop near us at the Currituck Club! They just opened in late August. My wife and I stopped in for a couple of lattes After a walk on the beach... they were both excellent. Julie (barista/owner?) was super friendly, also learned they are dog friendly, which is another huge plus for us. Highly recommend you check them out! I have not tried the cookies yet, but they look delicious so we grabbed two for later, found out they are actually baked by her mother. Always love supporting local businesses!
