Pack a nice outfit for dinner, bathing suit, your toiletries and a couple tops and bottoms. A little cash for tips and some off the cuff fun games. The rest is card only or you can bill to your room. That is all you need to enjoy Villa Roma. We stayed in the hotel, on the Futura wing. Rooms were far enough back to be peaceful and had a small balcony perfect for the free morning coffee (in the morning at 7:30am across from the elevators, main floor). We had the all inclusive plan which provided a wristband. Included was most activities, as well as breakfast and dinner in the main dining room on the third floor. Food: so good. See the pictures. I was shocked. You know how lunch wasn't included ? Well I wasted a lb of coldcuts I brought with me because dinner is a feast! Portions are epic and the food is delicious. You'll be having your left overs for lunch the next day. Drinks besides water are not included so bring up your room card or credit card if you'd like some wine. Breakfast, it's a buffet. It's pancakes, cinnamon French toast, eggs, potatoes, danish, oatmeal, juices, pastries and an omelet bar. Entertainment- I was lucky enough to be there on one of the nights Keith Doughtery's production of, "The Souprano's: Villa Roma or Bust," was performed in the forum. Soo hilarious and interactive ! I mean, belly laughs! The next day he also led the sip n paint. My daughter is non verbal and I was really worried about meeting her sensory needs on this trip. There is an entire inflatable bounce room yall! She loved it! We played in the kiddie pool area. Then we went to the game room to do the craft (she made a visor) which was very nice. Also the game room has a smaller play area for the toddlers, she was a bit too small for the big slides in the playground (she caught some radical air though!). Everyone I spoke with was a Villa Roma regular, ready to share stories and experiences. One of the highlights was a dance party at night on the mezzanine (personally my favorite area, have an espresso martini and look out on the entire property from the balcony). Extremely outdated decor, wall paper and everything else, Disgusting pans, the unit we had had locks on cabinets, drinks left in fridge, oven broiler door falling off, someone stole Tv wire so making it unusable, wall paper peeling off wall and couch bed had linens on them from previous stay instead of removed and new ones supplied. The rooms are outdated. The doors to the rooms used metal keys ,had to be bolted from the inside to keep them closed, and they could have been knocked in with a good shove. The floors are covered with indoor/outdoor carpet and we could hear the people above us walking at all hours. The parking lot was across the street from the main hotel building, not well lit at night and full of potholes. My husband used his phone flashlight to see his way. The wi-fi was "spotty" at best. We had $15 vouchers to use anywhere on the property, but couldn't access them when we wanted to use them because we had no internet access! The bars, when open, were poorly stocked. Marty's opened 10 minutes before the comedy show started and when we ordered 2 glasses of wine, bartender only had enough for 1&1/2 and no back up. The upstairs bar only had Moscato and White Zinfandel. The bartenders had no personality and bordered on rude. The comedian was funny , but he kept looking at his watch and performed for a total of 45 minutes. The golf course is great and the Grill Room there was good. But, Saturday afternoon a wedding party was there before the ceremony and we left when we couldn't get anyone to serve us. We have been coming to the Villa Roma for 32 years. I am so disappointed. My maintenance fee has continually gone up, yet none of the additional fees have been put back into the Villa. It's a disgrace how this once gorgeous family fun place my family looked forward to every year has been neglected. In addition, apparently a new rule was implemented no one under the age of 18 allowed at bingo! What! Bingo was the highlight for families! The majority walked out! No fun at Villa Roma anymore. What appears online as a family-friendly, all-inclusive resort is actually an extremely old, severely outdated timeshare property that feels neglected and badly in need of renovation. Our room was unacceptable: a spraying faucet, an electrical hair dryer directly beside the sink, hanging/exposed wiring, mold-like buildup, bugs, damaged wood, holes in the walls, stained linens and towels, and severely uneven floors. With children present, these conditions raised serious safety concerns. The children's activities were just as disappointing. During a go-kart activity, gasoline got into our child's hair. This should never happen during a children's activity. We reported the problems during our stay and were told no other room was available. I have 25 years of experience as an Operations Manager, and I can say from that experience that this was unacceptable. The condition of the accommodations and the way these concerns were handled fell far below what I would consider an acceptable standard of operations or customer service. After extensive back-and-forth, Operations Manager Kelly Kelting refused our refund and described the problems as "several minor maintenance issues" that had since been addressed now that we left.. Her solution? A complimentary weekend. No refund. No accountability. Just an offer to come back. Why would anyone willingly return to a property after this experience? This place was not as advertised, the accommodations were severely outdated, and the customer service response made an already terrible stay even worse. Families: look very carefully before booking. Our stay was very disappointing, especially considering how expensive it was. While we expected the property to be somewhat dated based on the photos on Booking.com, the actual condition was much worse than anticipated. The room felt old and musty, the furniture was very outdated, and our door would not latch properly unless it was deadbolted from the inside. The photos on Booking.com were misleading and did not accurately represent the property. The check-in process was not smooth. We booked two rooms for our family based on the listing photos, but when we arrived, our rooms had been assigned far apart on the same floor instead of near each other. We also discovered that one of the rooms was an efficiency suite with two separate sleeping areas, which was not clearly represented in the listing. Had this been made clear, we likely would not have needed to book a second room. Another disappointment was that there was no complimentary breakfast, despite our expectations. We did eat breakfast one morning at the Garden Café, but it was extremely understaffed, and we waited nearly two hours for our food. Finding our rooms was confusing due to the layout, and the signage was not helpful. We had also hoped to spend time at the pool, but many guests had "claimed" chairs by leaving their belongings on them, making it nearly impossible to find a place to sit and enjoy the area. The only staff members who provided friendly and helpful service were the security team, housekeeping, and the shuttle bus driver. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff did not demonstrate much hospitality, which added to our overall disappointment. Overall, this stay did not provide the value we expected for the price we paid. I saw the horrible reviews and yet I went anyway (my bad). This place was not cheap and once you add in the food plan, the price puts you in the range of a 5 start hotel (I would give this one 1 star, at best). Yes, the hotel is beyond outdated but that wasn't my primary issue with it. My primary issue was this place was filthy and not well maintained. Just a few examples. Garage cans and ash treys were constantly overflowing the whole time and were not emptied out the whole 3 days we were there. The hallways of the building consistently had trash and litter on it. It's not clear if they ever vacuum (but it certainly didn't look lik it). The molding on the hallway had a thick layer of grim. Clearly never cleaned. There was bucket in one of the hallways catching dripping water. Wallpaper was peeling off the wall in many places throughout the building. In some places it was left to peel. In other places there were tacks holding it up. The walls were dirty and paint was peeling in many of the public areas (both inside and out). There were holes in the walls in many places. The arcade was very expensive ($1-2 per game) . In addition to many of them being broken, the credit card machine to get tokens was also broken. The water boats were also not working when we were there, and there was no indication of when they were going to be repaired. Elevator was also not working. I will say the wait staff were extremely nice and attentive in the main dining room. The food however both here and at the pool snack bar was horrible. Also , to stay at a place this expensive and then have to pay more for a voucher to see a crappy show is insane. The outdoor pools were nice. And although the recreation room was very outdated, we enjoyed the pool, ping-pong, pickle ball, and bocce. read more

We have been coming to Villa Roma since 2019 during the Summer and we love it, although it has definitely gone downhill because we do have a fun time during the Summer, and we decided to try and come here for New Year's Eve. We were all so excited! We arrived today and it is not at all what we expected. There is only one word to describe this trip so far "FREEZING"!!! Everybody is walking around in jackets and ski caps, or have heavy blankets wrapped around them. The halls feel like a morgue. We just came from the nightclub and everyone was complaining about how freezing cold it is. I actually saw children crying and their parents had to take them out. My daughter and I tried staying for the show, but had to walk out because we couldn't take it anymore. You have to be so happy if you happen to run across a small area of the hallways that has a "warm spot". ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? We spent over $700 a night for this New Year's Eve event and we can't even enjoy it. How can you run a hotel like this and expect people to ever come back? It's a disgrace!!!! For all the money I spent and I have to get sick, and now my daughter has a sore throat! Not to mention, I was in shock when they told me I have to pay for the New Year's Eve party after the dinner. WHAT?!!! I was never told that when I made my reservation. I am now so disgusted with this place and my heart is breaking because we truly loved it. Definitely going to look for other options from now on. Who knew I'd be spending my time in a freezer, and now I'm in my hotel room instead of being in the nightclub. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I had stepped into some rundown, forgotten relic from the 1970s -- and not in a charming, retro way. This place is filthy, poorly maintained, and laughably overpriced for the dump that it is. Let's start with the room: disgusting. It smelled like mildew and disappointment. The carpet was stained, the furniture was falling apart, and I genuinely questioned whether the sheets had been changed. There was a kicked-in door that looked like it had been patched up by a blind raccoon. The TV didn't work, the bed was broken and slanted like a death trap, and to top it all off, the toilet seat was cracked -- I mean, how do you even let that go ignored? Ever sat on a toilet seat that's pinching your leg because it's broken? Not exactly a spa experience. Then there's the "arcade" -- what a joke. Most of the machines were either out of order or gladly stole your tokens without delivering a second of entertainment. No refunds, no apologies. Just more evidence that the owners don't care about guest experience -- only your money. And speaking of people who don't care: the staff. Wow. I've never encountered a ruder, more indifferent group of employees in my life. Every interaction felt like I was inconveniencing them by simply existing. No one smiled. No one apologized. Stayed mid-May for a quiet getaway with my husband. The resort needs an upgrade.. the gym was sad, and landscaping is non-existent. However, hanging said that, if you're looking for a place to chill and you have little ones, this might work for you. Indoor and outdoor pool (outdoor opens Memorial Day week) , bowling on premises, raceway, nightly entertainment and a great place to eat also on-site And more importantly to me, it was CLEAN and everyone was friendly and helpful. If I could give them zero stars, I could. This is a run down, poorly run property with poor customer service. We arrived to find our room 236 has no shelves in the little refrigerator and clogged sinks -- one takes almost 30 seconds to drain. We arrived in the afternoon and tried to tun on the TV this evening. There are two TVs, one in the bedroom and one in the sitting room. There is a TV remote in the sitting room. It does not work. The "light" button doesn't light up the controls, indicating a dead battery. The remote for the bedroom TV is missing. We cannot turn on the TV manually because the cable box has no ON switch - you have to use the remote. The TV power switch is recessed under the bezel. We turned on the TV and got "No Signal" on a blue screen. We called the front desk several times and staff finally came after an hour with a new remote and programmed it to the TV. Other issues: it would be nice to have a nightstand on each side of the double bed -- this is standard in all motels/hotels. The lamp on the dresser in the bedroom is not plugged in, because there is no available outlet behind the dresser -- just a duplex outlet in use for the TV and the cable box. How hard would it be to put a cube tap on the outlet? UPDATE NEXT DAY: Staff came and serviced the clogged sinks. On the plus side, the room has new carpet which is very nice. read more

We are currently staying at the timeshare section of the resort. I DO NOT RECOMMEND coming here as a timeshare holder! The building equipment is broken, dirty, or simply unavailable. The doors to patios are not repaired, torn screens, bad carpet with duck tape trying to hold it together. They give you an ice bucket in the rooms but no ice in the building-you have to walk all the way down the road, across the street into the main building to get ice! An ice tray is provided but good luck getting any ice to come out it. On the bright side, there are plenty of activities to do especially for little ones except access to the outside pool because although the weather is very hot, upper 80's, the pool is closed and no workout room available either. If you stay at the hotel side in the main building it seems you have access to more items, but without being in the rooms, I can't say if the insides are better. read more

Our event at the Clubhouse at Villa Roma was excellent! We began planning our event a year ahead of time. Cheryl Dunne and the rest of the staff were helpful and pleasant, making sure that everything flowed smoothly throughout the night. The food was terrific, and got many compliments from our party. We had the choice of the number and setup of tables, as well as whether or not we wanted the dance floor. The dining area and cocktail bar were clean and comfortable, and the furnishings were arranged so that everyone could easily mingle and visit. The event started promptly and our hostess, Cheryl, and Tyrone and staff were available within minutes if we had any questions or needed any assistance. Our buffet choices were served hot, and the line moved quickly, never running out. The new bathrooms near the dining area are appreciated, a huge plus! We remember the location of the previous ones were not as convenient. Cheryl is a great asset, helping to plan logistics for everything, including a TV setup we used to display our group's photographs (using our own tablet). We're timeshare owners and have been coming to Villa Roma for 15+ years. We have an "off season" week at the start of the summer which means it is less crowded, but there are also fewer activities going on. As others have mentioned, the resort is in need of a lot repair and maintenance. A lot of the photos on their website are older so be warned. Our unit, had a lamp with a broken knob that didn't allow it to be turned on, the AC unit was loud, there were several bugs and spiders that made their way into the unit and some windows no longer opened (or couldn't be shut if you did open them). The furniture in the unit is quite old and has been well used. While the unit has AC in each room, it is quite damp and you notice it when you sit on the furniture and your swimsuit never quite dries. The patio has a few plastic chairs on it which were in acceptable condition, but the wood railings were wobbly and falling apart. All of the appliances were in working condition. The wifi in our unit was very poor and would disconnect frequently. Verizon cell phone service is not strong. We mainly use the pool when we go. The pools themselves were fine and there were life guards on duty. The pool area could be spiffed up. Many of the pool chairs were worn and dirty. They are the same ones that have been there for years. Towels are available for use at the pool, but they are fairly thin so you may want to bring some of your own. I've heard if you go during the "on" season you need to arrive to the pool early to save chairs as they fill up quick. The activities and grounds also could use some work. There used to be lots of activities to do throughout the week, but now it seems like the same activities are repeated every day-sometimes twice a day. The roads have a lot of pot holes and there is a lot of weeding and mowing that could be done on the property. All of that being said, it is a good place for families with kids to gather and hang out if you don't mind some older facilities. There are lot areas for small groups to sit and eat or play games. read more
