We had a great time for the murder mystery weekend with our kids and would definitely come back for the murder mystery weekend. Not sure if we would come back for more than a weekend as they're renovating so a lot of the activities were unavailable during our stay and the kids would potentially get bored however would absolutely consider bringing the kids back again for a weekend once renovation is complete.

On July 7, 2024 we had our wedding at the Clubhouse at the Villa Roma and everything went perfectly. Cheryl Dunne and her staff were amazing we couldn't be any happier with the service. The food was delicious and we received many compliments on it. We would also like to thank the bar staff they were great also. The Wedding Cake looked amazing and tasted great and was also made by the Villa Roma baker and we cannot thank her enough. The Wedding took a lot of planning and Cheryl was there whenever we needed her, so if you are thinking of a place to have your wedding that is beautiful, with delicious food, and excellent service we highly recommend the Villa Roma! Thank you all, Sara and Luis Alvarez

Pack a nice outfit for dinner, bathing suit, your toiletries and a couple tops and bottoms. A little cash for tips and some off the cuff fun games. The rest is card only or you can bill to your room. That is all you need to enjoy Villa Roma. We stayed in the hotel, on the Futura wing. Rooms were far enough back to be peaceful and had a small balcony perfect for the free morning coffee (in the morning at 7:30am across from the elevators, main floor). We had the all inclusive plan which provided a wristband. Included was most activities, as well as breakfast and dinner in the main dining room on the third floor. Food: so good. See the pictures. I was shocked. You know how lunch wasn't included ? Well I wasted a lb of coldcuts I brought with me because dinner is a feast! Portions are epic and the food is delicious. You'll be having your left overs for lunch the next day. Drinks besides water are not included so bring up your room card or credit card if you'd like some wine. Breakfast, it's a buffet. It's pancakes, cinnamon French toast, eggs, potatoes, danish, oatmeal, juices, pastries and an omelet bar. Entertainment- I was lucky enough to be there on one of the nights Keith Doughtery's production of, "The Souprano's: Villa Roma or Bust," was performed in the forum. Soo hilarious and interactive ! I mean, belly laughs! The next day he also led the sip n paint. My daughter is non verbal and I was really worried about meeting her sensory needs on this trip. There is an entire inflatable bounce room yall! She loved it! We played in the kiddie pool area. Then we went to the game room to do the craft (she made a visor) which was very nice. Also the game room has a smaller play area for the toddlers, she was a bit too small for the big slides in the playground (she caught some radical air though!). Everyone I spoke with was a Villa Roma regular, ready to share stories and experiences. One of the highlights was a dance party at night on the mezzanine (personally my favorite area, have an espresso martini and look out on the entire property from the balcony). My parents came with us and did the zip line, archery and lounged by the pool. We just got back and are thinking about Christmas time...

Stayed mid-May for a quiet getaway with my husband. The resort needs an upgrade.. the gym was sad, and landscaping is non-existent. However, hanging said that, if you're looking for a place to chill and you have little ones, this might work for you. Indoor and outdoor pool (outdoor opens Memorial Day week) , bowling on premises, raceway, nightly entertainment and a great place to eat also on-site And more importantly to me, it was CLEAN and everyone was friendly and helpful. Not much to do in town but we did watch a movie and had dinner in town at Callicoon Brewing restaurant ( do not recommend)

All the beauty we have seen so far. Oh and the hallway with the rooms smells like a hospital

This place is horrid. We paid $600 for the night and I feel like I'm in a 1980's sitcom. One thing is worse than the next. All the so called activities are across the street. They have an arcade that is nasty along with a completely empty area. It is depressing at best. The bowling alley has 6 lanes and was closed for the employees dinner. The bounce house area is about 20 degrees. There are no employees everywhere. We are here now and if I could drive in the dark I would be headed home. Do not come here. Please - it is a disgrace

"No Signal". That's the best we can get in this room.

    Farmhouse Catskills

    (6 reviews)

My bf booked a night for us here after receiving a targeted Instagram ad. He's an absolute sucker…read morefor targeted ads, and I must congratulate Farmhouse Catskills on their marketing prowess; however, the marketing strategy gives you a pretty good idea of what you can expect. This place is definitely instagrammable... but unfortunately not much more than that (at least for now). Pros: They've done a seriously beautiful job on the decor- lots of grays and moody dark blues, mid-century furnishings, and prolific use of some of the best artificial tropical plants I've ever seen. All of it is as pretty in person as it is in those Instagram ads. When you walk in, there's ambient music that matches the vibe perfectly. We didn't take a dip in the pool because it was kind of chilly, but I thought it was neat that there was a poolside DJ. It's also worth mentioning that this place is clearly very dog friendly, and as a dog-lover-but-not-owner I was happy to be able to pet so many pups on the property. And there's a decent pool table, yay! Cons: It's pretty clear that this place was sort of hastily opened in an attempt to pull in some cash before the end of the summer, without being adequately prepared and staffed. (It kind of reminded me of one of those house-flipping shows on HGTV.) In our room, one of the ceiling lights still had blue painter's tape around it. The door (which opened to the outdoors) stuck badly, and the knob was not really appropriate for the purpose- more of a closet or bathroom doorknob than something secure for a hotel room- no deadbolt, etc. We had the same troubles with the hot water that another reviewer mentioned. We had to wait almost an hour to get a cocktail at the bar because it was understaffed. I imagine there were just one or two bartenders serving the bar, restaurant, and pool areas. (For the record, the cocktails were nice, though, as was the bartender.) At one point a man who seemed to be more or less in charge of things (but somewhat overwhelmed) was quite rude to us and another couple we were socializing with in the bar area. The morning we were to check out, a housekeeping person opened the door to the room at around 8:30 AM when we were still asleep. She apologized and said, "Oh, my manager said you already checked out!" We said "No, isn't check out at noon?" She confirmed and went on her way. No big deal. But about an hour later, ANOTHER person barges into the room and says her manager told her we had already checked out. (I'm guessing that her manager was the aforementioned overwhelmed guy.) In short: This place has definite potential- again, so pretty!- but it seems the focus right now is aesthetics over experience. At a lower price point I'd probably call it four stars, but at $300/night in the middle of nowhere, I'd expect better management and service. I'd be interested to see if they work out some of the kinks next summer.

Make a reservation ahead of time to get your table and time. 4 The Activities (included in the price), check out their website, classes are listed ahead of time, and you should sign up for them before your stay. Finally the bartender comes over and hands us a menu. Right away I get the feeling we are not welcome. My wife confirms the vibe and we contemplate leaving immediately. We change our menu choice from the steaks $45 to the burgers 17$. We look at the menus for a while and nothing. Finally the bartender comes over and says " you are supposed to order at the bar"," oh there used to be a sign but they removed it". Maybe she wound have mentioned that when she handed us the menus. I really want to leave here but hunger has me. The customers seem nice though. Really a bad experience from jump street. So after sitting a while the food comes and the person delivering it is so nice. The "bartender" did not get the order correct but no worries because the lovely server makes it right. The bartender has a dog and it is all over the place including the table tops? People come in and are seated right next to us. They have two dogs but there is no problem with our pup and theirs. They are lovely people. The whole time we are there from entering the establishment to the time we leave the "bartender" is talking to the people at the bar, laughing and talking. This includes the time we waited to be seated till she comes over with the menus and tells us about ordering at the bar. Nothing better to do but hack it up and make us feel uncomfortable. I get the fact that you know the regulars but wouldn't you like some more regulars? This is a hospitality industry not a hostility industry. She has got some issues! Anyhow we pay the check and leave a tip, but if the "bartender" was the only person we delt with I would have opted out of the tip. Everyone in the place was really nice and conversational except the "bartender". Good grief! The food was really good btw. Too bad I lost my appetite for the steaks because the menu was very nice and so was the presentation.
