Friendly helpful staff in all departments, clean room, lots of restaurants and shops nearby, nice…read morecentral location for travel in many directions.... has standard breakfast choices and they offer real half-n-half, not just the fake chemical creamer, which we all appreciate!! Cons: -heat/thermostat isn't consistent... it blows directly on the bed closest to the window so that part of the room gets super hot while the bathroom area is still cold. You have to turn it way up to get the room up to warm and then turn it down. -tv is limited as far as commercial-free channels and you cannot stream or mirror. -the black out curtains did not reach the windowsill so light crept in right at eye level in the morning. Also they did not overlap and we had to close them with a hair-clip. -No snack shop in the lobby- just vending machines that only take singles. The front desk kindly made change for us. -The saline pool smelled weird... -we booked another night and I called the front desk early in the morning to keep the same room, and they said it was ok, i checked-in online and all looked good, so we went back to sleep and then the front desk kept calling because it wasn't going through on her end and said i had to come down... so i did and then showed her that it worked on my app and she said oh, ok then. Aargh

Stayed here over a long weekend. I HIGHLY recommend! My only qualm is that it's quite expensive,…read moreespecially for the room we stayed in (which was expected), but I feel like there are aspects that should've been included for the price. That aside, I would come back here in a heartbeat. Beautiful grounds, clean, kind and welcoming staff, delicious food, and dog friendly! If you're looking for a cozy escape from the city, this is the place. We stayed in the Lakeside cottage, which I highly recommend. Room was perfection - the wood fireplace was exactly what I wanted. Food was delicious. Breakfast buffet every morning was the best buffet I've ever had. My only con is that I feel like some of the things should've been included in the price versus having an extra fee. For example, there's a movie night option but it costs $45 per person... (though it comes with popcorn + candy). I feel like the movie viewing should be free. There's also an option for their "famous" breakfast buns that cost $7 per bun. Not an unreasonable cost, but since you're already paying a daily fee for food it seems like something like this should be included.

When I stumbled across Moonriver Inn, I knew I had found the perfect place for us to stay. The innkeeper, Celeste, was a joy to work with. When I told her what I was planning, she did not disappoint--when my girlfriend and I arrived, awaiting us in our room were a beautiful bouquet of local wildflowers and a bottle of champagne on ice. She even made dinner reservations for us at a favorite restaurant. The space itself is beautifully decorated, full of natural light, and well-appointed. There were Audubon prints on the walls, a record-player in the corner, and prosecco in the mini-fridge. The bed offered us one of the most comfy nights' rests I've had in ages. And it's just a quick walk to Main Street or to the river. Do yourself a favor and book your next stay here. (Oh, and in case it wasn't obvious, she said "yes"!)
