Certainly drinks are the main things at this bar in Burlington. Drink Bar has quite a few. It also has a small food menu. For sure it's been a long time favorite around here. The bar is kind of dark, and it gives an old school kind of vibe. Be sure to check out when the specials are. It's got lots of daily ones. These can be big time money savers. It's $7 for margaritas on Mondays. Maybe these aren't that big, but these can be pretty strong. Food menu isn't as impressive. It's $9 for the Blistered Shishito Peppers. Probably the healthiest food item, because the rest is mostly greasy fried things. Good hot flavor. They also have chicken tenders if looking for meats. For a bar in the middle of town it seems pretty quiet inside. It's farther away from the college, so maybe that could be a reason. The prices are pretty good on drinks and food, and it's not crowded most times. read more

I guess he was busy out back. Then 3 people come in and he is now leaning on bar talking laughing and communicating etc. I at least hope for a little Interaction esp in a bar that's dead. . Just a weird place and not inviting. If a bar tender only entertains a group but not a person, I lose interest. If you want to be ignored and be in an empty bar, we'll this is the place. After a little bit of sight seeing we needed a drink. Drink was open and it looked promising - and it did not disappoint. I've read it was a "college" bar but we came around 6pm on a Saturday and I liked the vibe. Bar was completely empty except for two people: one guy who was the bartender's friend and they just stood in the corner heavily flirting with each other? and some other guy who was just cursing and arguing about getting paid then left. We sat beside a bottle of some kind of syrup that had fruit flies crawling all over it. The cocktail was okay, but tasted like it was missing some of the ingredients listed. The bartender service was utter garbage. It had the vibe of "I work here so my friends can come hang out and drink while everyone else is an inconvenience." Specials, specials, specials! This place has a little something for everyone: Beer, wine, mixed drinks, infusions... and boardgames! I used to spend a decent amount of time at this bar when I was a bit younger (I think the demographic is still the same, college age, young professionals), but still enjoy coming out with a bigger group to sit in the oversized, super comfy lounge chairs. Sundays are my favorite, with $5 mojitos (try the strawberry or watermelon!), and for games: apples to apples, cards against humanity, and connect four are pretty great options depending on the size of your party. My biggest suggestion for improvement would be to have a clear system for ordering. The times I have gone have been inconsistent as to whether someone will come to you to take your order for drinks or if you have to go up to order them yourself. read more

This past weekend I hosted my husband's 40th birthday party in Drink's private room downstairs. My experience from start to finish exceeded my expectations. Tony, the manager, was responsive and worked around my schedule to see the venue before booking. The day of the event I had early access to the room to set up, and from then on everyone working was incredibly helpful. Our bartender was friendly and professional and did as much as he could to make our experience fun. The room itself is very nice, has its own entrance and its own bathroom. Everything was clean. Truly couldn't ask for anything more. I am recommending this space to anyone that wants to host a fun event. read more

A handful of friends and I (all young professionals of various ages who live in Burlington) were out open night with no real plan and ended up at drink. It was great! We met someone promoting gin and he gave us free drinks! Another time for a friend's birthday we came here and got great cosmos ($5 on Fridays). Another night they had really great margaritas ($5 on Monday and they're decently strong)! Getting whatever the drink deal of the night is makes this place super affordable. Previously in my life, there was a coffeeshop I went to that felt a bit weird, sort of like when students run a coffeeshop in their high school. The whole thing felt a bit homespun. Turns out the coffeeship was run by a church, and it made a lot of sense to me. "Drink" has a very similar ambiance. The energy is oddly muted. The boardgames are nice to have there, and all, but they are not particularly well cared-for. The environment feels like they are trying to come off as "casual," but instead come off as lazy. Add onto this the odd interaction with the bartender, who really didn't seem all that pleased for us to be there, and the evening at "Drink" was something of a bust. It was earlier on in the evening, so our trio made up roughly 1/3 of the people in the bar, about an hour or two before the real evening rush began. The bartender seemed impatient and was generally unfriendly. We did not have complex orders, and seemed fairly inconvenienced, when my friend asked if he could make a common cocktail. This bartender demanded our IDs, which is fine, as we are all in our thirties. However, he would take one person's ID only, at a time, and then turn around immediately to go get the drink, actively ignoring whoever was next in the group, no matter what we were asking him. Another bartender came over to help, and took our IDs, inspected them thoroughly, and handed them back. Before he could take our orders, the initial bartender then came back and interrupted him. He then made us take out our IDs again before he or anyone else would be allowed to take our order. All of this seemed like we were being unduly hassled, and with no particular reason. This is by far the best place for after work drinks. My boyfriend and I are regulars there, at first we started going for the drink specials - $2 pints on Thursdays and $4 Cosmos on Fridays. The atmosphere is great, the drinks are amazing (try the house infused vodkas), but the staff is what really makes the place what it is. The staff is really why we go every Thursday. They are always very friendly and personable, and if you are a regular there they will recognize you by name and have a chat with you. I am not sure on the comments saying that the drinks are expensive. The martinis are reasonably priced, you would easily pay a few dollars more at a restaurant in Burlington. (Come on $2 pints!) If you are looking for an after work drink, before dinner, after dinner, before a show, or just in general, I always highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Okay, if you're just looking for a nice (and very reasonably priced) drink and don't particularly care about the atmosphere, this place is great. I normally do care about my surroundings, but the prices, super nice staff, and fun boardgames to play, more than make up for that. This is a great place to stop for mixed drinks before going out on a dinner date, or as a hangout with a larger crowd on the comfy couches. They infuse their own vodka, which they have on display, and it's really good! I do recommend ordering whatever type of drink they're promoting that day, as that's the best deal, though they make some great classic drinks too that are more expensive. I've held back on giving Drink a review for some time because I just feel so indifferent to its existence. The atmosphere seems muddled--I've never been sure what kind of interior design or ambiance is trying to be achieved (if any?). Are they trying to be semi-sophisticated? Or indie? or a college bar? Obviously many people comment on the numerous board games on offer, but it should be noted that the lack of energy in the bar is usually what has turned my party's attention to playing them. I have never had horrible service there, nor service that has particularly stuck in my memory for its excellence. The bathrooms are tolerably clean, though there are lines if there is any level of increased traffic. I feel like the location is what has prompted most of my visits. I don't have a bad time here! I just...don't ever see myself seeking it out with purpose. read more

What a great little space. Cozy lounge seating up front, diner style banquettes in the back, and tons of board games, score! They offer beer, wine, a full bar, plus their own infused vodkas. We came at an odd "changing the menu in 2009" point, so they were out of a lot of stuff. We still enjoyed ourselves and the decent cheese plate (they really need to add a blue to the mix though). My friend and I heard that Drink had some great drink specials, so we decided to give it a chance when we were in town for my birthday. When we first walked past around 8:00 pm, it was really dead, so we were hesitant to go inside. Although, after grabbing a quick beer down the street at Flatbread, we ventured into Drink and took them up on their Tuesday night special ($5 Long Island Iced Teas!). The drinks were good. I expected the bartender to skimp us on alcohol, since the iced teas were cheap, but they seemed decently strong. We sat down at one of the couches, which were really comfortable, then saw the stack of board games in the corner. Awesome idea, by the way! The variety of games was good, lots of fun group games that would be even more fun when drinking. We settled on Scrabble. (Oh, I loved how the high scores were posted on their wall, too!) After two games, the place picked up and looked pretty busy from what I could tell, especially for a Tuesday night. All in all, I really liked Drink. Not the fanciest place ever, but it brought in a bit more sophisticated crowd than your crazy drunken college students. The vibe was cool. Great music - a variety of some old vs. new hip-hop, rock, etc. The people were mellow and down-to-earth. I can't comment on a lot of their drinks, but their specials were just what we were looking for. Definitely felt like it was a place I'd go to back home. read more

Went with a large group and sat on the sofa's by the door. It was very fun that they had board games. The sofa's were actually a bit to comfy, as we all were stuck way to far back in them - sounds like an odd complaint, but it was a little hard to have conversations without sitting up on the edge. Our waitress was quick and got our orders right away. Was a little disappointed that only certain or the vodka infused drinks were on special. The options were a coffee one, maple one, and lemon grass. None of those were to appealing to me! Drink is a very attractive and relaxing bar. It sits right downtown about a half block from the local theater. You should expect more of a lounge than a bar atmosphere as the space is taken up mostly by couches and coffee tables. The bar is nice in the back. The bar staff is typically on point with orders and you can usually expect someone to come by your couch without having to walk all the way to the bar to put in an order. It may not appeal to the usual bar/wings/sports type as it tries to aim towards the eclectic but it is a nice pre/post show stop and you can expect good service. read more

We really enjoyed our time at Drink. Our drinks were wonderful and were made by Evan with time and care. We ordered the pretzel and cheese dip which was great, the chips and salsa with chicken tacos- the tacos were great but chips and salsa just ok, and then we had onion rings, fries, and chicken fingers which were great as well. I had the drink cocktail which was fantastic and tasted like lemonade! I have an allergy to Prosecco so I substituted it for club soda and it was great. My boyfriend had the painkiller which he really enjoyed as well. Evan was really friendly and helpful. I usually love Drink. The atmosphere, the drinks, the people, etc. However, I went last night for $4 mojito night and was disappointed. I always rave to people about their mojitos, and I was very disappointed with them last night. I understand it's the special of the night, but that doesn't mean they can cut back on the quality. I do not like my mojitos very sweet, and this was more sweet than anything else. It was more like a hint of lime than the actual lime. A friend tried the Mandarin Mojito and said it was even sweeter then my Classic Mojito. So go to Drink, but don't get the special of the night. Unless it's Thursday and in that case, Switchback is $2 drafts. If I had gone on a regular night, I would have given it 4 stars. But I had to take away a star because I was so disappointed by their mojitos. read more

Before I write my review, let me make a comment on some of the previous reviews here on this page: Have you ever been to a bar before? When I go to a bar or pub, I usually expect some things. Mostly, that everything is going to be a bit damp, there are going to be drunk people, and that I am not going to find space at the bar. Drink is certainly not perfect. However, the drink specials are always interesting (how can you say no to $2 drafts??!), the board games are fun, and the bartenders are personable. Somehow, I always end up having a good night, and go home feeling great, even if I have a slight headache the next morning. And might I say, the Cosmos are to die for. read more
