I am in town every 6 months for training and flight safety. Every time I'm out of town my expectations are low and mostly can only find chains with automatic machines for coffee BLEH. This is the holy grail for coffee shops. Excellent coffee where you can actually TASTE good espresso in your drinks. I really like this authentic lil spot. Their prices are slightly higher than an average chain spot but it taste awesome. Much more light tasting . Since finding the spot a few weeks ago I have went at least three times a week , the smoothies are awesome but it's always 50/50 if I'm going to get one which is frustrating and it's "i only have enough to make a small" when I want to purchase two medium! So it's truly an inconvenience when I have to then go to smoothie king to find another smoothie. Also they charge for every little thing . Visiting Atlanta and since I'm a huge coffee drinker I had to have my morning dose.... And for that I turned to Yelp. Didn't want to try Starbucks or any big chains but a small locally owned shop.... So for that I searched Yelp to get an idea where to try my next coffee adventure! Drip-Thru Coffee came highly recommended with 4.5 stars and since it was only 3-5 min drive from my hotel thought i'ld give it a try. As soon as I got close I noticed their small drive-thru was packed. There were about 8 cars and i had to turn around to get in. There's one two way... in and out! Looking through the menu I ordered me a hot large Caramel Macchiato and a butter croissant. My coffee was ready within 1 min. EXCELLENT SERVICE. Now onto the coffee quality and taste. The coffee had no sugar at all and I like mine slightly sweet. The closest coffee that came to mind in comparison was Philz Coffee... so for that I give it a 4.5 stars. Service was excellent 5 stars. Location was great as well 5 stars. The actual coffee want bad but I asked for a vanilla cold brew and it wasn't sweet at all. I had to add agave. I'd go back if my 1st pick was too far like it was when I found it. I'd like to thank the owner, Christy, for responding and doing such an in-depth review of all 81 of my transactions. I never said I was actually charged after the fact for 80 cents, but on several occasions I was TOLD it would be 80 cents to fix my order by one particular person when I realized vanilla wasn't added despite asking for it. Literally every time I order with that barista my latte tasted bitter and she always seemed annoyed when I spoke up. I stand by that, because I'm the customer and it was my experience. So yeah, customer service was lacking with that particular person. I have had lots of other great experiences with different staff members. On my last and final visit the attitude was clear and I was fed up with my vanilla latte not tasting like vanilla every time she made it. Drip-Thru Coffee is absolutely incredible. And yes, the coffee is really, really good. But that's not even what I am talking about. It is the PEOPLE who work there that absolutely make this place. My business partner and I went here every morning for five straight mornings. There was free coffee at our Airbnb. It didn't matter. We went for the people. The incredible atmosphere as soon as you drive onto the lot is better than any caffeine rush from a cup of coffee. Christie, Grace, Shanice, Keenan (and I am sure there are others) are all cut from the same cloth. Incredibly nice, welcoming, and a true delight. They really made our morning. Interesting, I ordered a blueberry scone that didn't have a lot of blueberries in it. Taste really wasn't that great without something inside it. Not totally their fault.
