I brought my wife and baby here on her suggestion after many years of not going even though it's right down the street haha! Honestly they've done a great job with the place! It went from being an underused cafe to being a line out the door establishment that's very popular. The thing that struck me the most was how friendly the staff was. There are so many restaurants where you feel like your lucky to get service or that they really don't care. Like, they actually came by to check on us and make sure we had what we needed. The food was pretty awesome and the prices were very reasonable. I love what they've done with the decoration. There's some historic paintings and pictures that are pretty cool in the downstairs portion. My wife had the bacon egg and cheddar sandwich with a side of grits. It was a great choice and we have since ordered that again. The baby likes pancakes so we ordered a stack of pancakes and that came out great too, even though I don't think it's technically on the menu. I had the fried green tomato stack, which was perfect because I usually end up nibbling off of my wife's and baby's plates. Before heading to the airport to head back to Cali we found this restaurant. Immediately we were greeted by staff members, this place is huge! They have an up and down stairs. Our server King was amazing, he was super helpful with the menu. Once we got our food, O M G that first bite will have you wishing you were taking the first bite again! Not sure if it was because we were super hungry or we finally found a place in GA with amazing food. We didn't even have to ask King for refills, he would immediately bring us our drinks. Place overall was great. Only thing I will say is the parking is a big hectic on a busy street so you will need to look for parking somewhere. Stumbled upon a gem at The Breakfast Boys, a fantastic black owned restaurant In College Park. Even on a busy weekday, I snagged a spot just in time. Happy I finally had the opportunity to check out the very popular Breakfast Boys. Took my Husband for brunch on his birthday. I was able to easily make a reservation and edit the time when needed. The Breakfast Boys is located in charming downtown College Park. Parking is limited in front of the restaurant so we parked on a side street in a lovely neighborhood a short walk from the restaurant. Once we arrived we checked-in at the host stand and had to wait in a line outside the restaurant until our table was ready. The restaurant had benches and umbrellas to keep you in the shade while waiting but would be nice if they added a bit more for the warmer months. When the table was ready we were quickly seated and greeted by our exceptional server, King. We started with catfish nuggets that were very flavorful and paired well with a remoulade. To drink we tried the passionfruit mimosas that were pretty good and made well. For our entrees I had the chicken and pancakes and my husband had the catfish, grits and eggs. The birthday boy loved the grits as they were very creamy but his eggs were fried a bit too hard. My pancakes were pretty flavorful to where they were already slightly sweet without syrup but not in an overwhelming way. The chicken was good too. Most restaurants usually offer a treat for birthdays so was surprised they didn't. Either the food is great, the menu has many southern breakfast classics and vegan options. Visited Saturday around 9am as a party of 7. There was no wait when we arrived and we were actually the only group waiting. The initial interaction with the host felt a bit overly assertive for the situation. I understand there was a designated waiting area and procedures to follow, but the tone came across as if she was managing a large crowd, when it was just our group. Things did settle once we were seated. We also noticed a vent above our table dripping water, which was not ideal. Our server, Keisha, took care of our order and service was handled without issue after that. We ordered a variety of dishes including fish and grits, steak and eggs, a burger, waffle, and a kids' meal. The food came out well and everyone enjoyed their meal overall. This place was a last minute find the day of. We went on a Saturday morning. The inside is a bit small, but they have an outside waiting area (which can get a bit warm while you wait). We were sat about 10-15 after our reservation time. Our server was very sweet and helpful. Food came out very quick and was delicious. I ordered a simple bacons, egg, and cheese and it was by far one of the best I've had, especially with the sweet potato roll and side of potatoes. Also had the catfish with pancakes. I came to BB with my sisters for a mid-evening brunch on a Saturday. We made a reservation prior to that week. However, the hostess verbatim told us the reservation is more so "for show" You get added to the same list as walk in's. We had a 12:30 reservation sat roughly 45 minutes post check-in. I was about 5 minutes from leaving with my party ( mind you parking is $15) so you sort of don't want to leave but we were going to. They truly need to expand or work on their reservation system- I was told "we don't hold tables" which I understand but prioritizing street traffic over reservations is ridiculous. NOW once we were in - we didn't know there was a downstairs area. We sat downstairs and that's when the SERVICE began. I will come back because the food is actually delicious and the servers were nice. We got a bottle of champagne for roughly $40. The mimosas started flowing. WE all ordered different meals and took a bite out of everyone's. EVERY SINGLE THING WAS GOOD! We had a tab of less than $200 for 3 people which is AMAZING for the Atlanta brunch scene. This isn't the hookah stand on tables brunch but its a nice ambiance and there's good R&B playing. Ms. Gabby was our server and she was so sweet. "The bees knees", went here for breakfast on our final day in Atlanta with the fam... tried to decide between 3 different places and Im so glad we went with this Resto. When we got there they were almost at full capacity and very busy but even with that we were able to sit pretty quickly and the service was fast and efficient. The entire staff is very personable and have great customer service skills... A sign of great work culture as well as great leadership. Our server was Keisha and she was awesome. I've known about The Breakfast Boys for quite a while but never made the trek out to College Park because, well, anyone who lives in metro Atlanta knows how traffic can turn a few miles into a half-day journey. But one Sunday after church, I finally decided to go for it, especially since I was craving a solid breakfast or brunch spot that really stood out. What drew me in was their French toast--it looked absolutely delicious in the photos, and I'm pretty picky about French toast. A lot of places just don't get the custard ratio right or serve it dry and unappealing. But theirs looked fantastic, so I ordered it along with an oatmeal bowl and their shrimp and grits with catfish, which seemed to be a top seller. Now, the parking situation wasn't ideal--there wasn't much of it, so I ended up parking on a residential street since I was just doing a quick pickup. Once I got home, the experience turned into a bit of a mixed bag. On the positive side, the French toast itself was absolutely amazing--definitely worth trying again. But it was supposed to be a berry French toast, and I was really disappointed to find that the "berries" consisted of just two blueberries and half a strawberry. The whipped cream portion was also tiny--it looked like a nickel sized amount of spittle--and had melted into basically nothing by the time I got it. Given that I make whipped cream myself often, I know it shouldn't vanish that fast. So that was a letdown. The oatmeal bowl was also watery and not as satisfying as I'd hoped. And while the shrimp and grits with catfish tasted good, something in the meal didn't sit right with my stomach afterward. To top it off, when I called the restaurant to ask about the portion sizes of the berries and whipped cream, I was put on hold for about 7 minutes, so they could ask about it and eventually someone came back, didn't say anything for about a minute before hanging up. No one picked up when I tried calling back the 2 times I dialed out, which was pretty frustrating. All in all, the flavors were there, and I might give them another shot by dining in to see if the experience improves. But my first visit was a bit of a rollercoaster--some highs with that delicious French toast, and some lows with the service and consistency. read more

I always enjoy The Breakfast Boys! A very busy brunch spot with amazing service and even better food. I've been many times since they've opened and never had a bad experience. My favorite meal is the Salmon Hash Skillet and I order it with a side of the lobster sauce. Really takes it up a notch. The fried chicken with pancakes is good as well. My favorite drink is the peach iced tea. The menu has something for everyone even pescatarian and vegetarian options. They have an upstairs and downstairs seating area. We picked this place because it was near the airport and perfect for a quick brunch while waiting for our friend's layover. We didn't have a reservation, but we were seated right away. The restaurant has two floors, and we were seated in the underground area. It's a pretty space with a cozy vibe. We hadn't looked at the menu beforehand, so all the options were a surprise. Our server recommended some best sellers and gave us time to decide. I ordered the Jerk Chicken and Sweet Potato Waffles, and my friends ordered the Steak and Eggs and the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese sandwich. The food took about 10-15 minutes to arrive. The sweet potato waffles were outstanding! I didn't love the sauce that came with them, though. The jerk chicken was juicy, flavorful, and had a crispy skin. The portion was huge (too much for me) so I took some home. Honestly, I would have been fine with just the waffles and some scrambled eggs instead of the full meal.
