Where to start? I paid for a VIP membership, and the FIRST time through the wash, it tore off my driver side mirror. I immediately notified the staff and they stopped the wash to retrieve my mirror. I have called three times to talk to the manager (who seems never to be in) and received no return phone calls. I called up the VIP Cancellation phone number and talked to Haley and canceled my membership two weeks later after I received no return phone calls, and now, a month later, I am STILL getting billed for the VIP membership which I have only used that one time.... I happened to be in Indiana and needed an oil change. My Garmin told me that there was a Jiffy Lube in the area, but that turned out to be wrong. Instead, I found the Drive & Shine -- which is a one-stop-shop for oil, basic tune-up work, washing, waxing/detailing, etc. So, I stopped for a basic oil change, but ended up going for oil, fuel injectors, wiper blades, air filter, wash, hand waxing/buffing. After all was said and done, my car ran and looked much better. I'm heading back down in the spring for a full-day inside/outside detailing. This is absolutely my favorite place for car detailing and beatification. From the time you drive up you are greeted in the most courteous manner. Your request is taken and next thing you know you are going through one of the most state of the art car washing systems. I have never had to do a return drive thru; they clean it right for you the first time. When you are done, simply drive to the vacuum area and it's there where they really pamper your car. Once you drive through the overhead door, the staff swarms your car like bee's and hornets. The vacuuming and polishing is amazing. The entire cleaning process is so professional, from the dress of the staff, to the cleanliness of the establishment. This is my first experience with Drive and Shine and I wasn't impressed. The first thing the tech told me was I had to use a straight synthetic oil, I know that's false because I read the owner's manual and have been using a semi synthetic for the past two years. Next he informed me that my vehicle requires 6 quarts of oil and there would be an upcharge. This has never happened before no other shop as it ever required 6 quarts I told him to put it in knowing it was just a rip off. Took car in for detailing realizing it was pretty dirty - carpet really needed shampooing among other things. I wasn't looking for the car to look brand new, I just wanted it significantly cleaner - you know: carpet, windows, console, dash, headliner - the little DETAILS, hence a DETAIL service. I thought I'd be out of $150 or so but lo and behold, I was quoted $300! It was hard for me to swallow that but I did it thinking it'd be an investment & I will never let the kids eat in the car again! LOL Picked the car up and could definitely tell the difference on the OUTSIDE. Nice wax job and all. A quick glance of the interior seemed to reveal improvement as well. So, I paid (with a painful grimace on my face) and drove off. The next hour I notice all the DETAILS not addressed - headliner and visors and vanity mirrors weren't touched. I made an appointment at another place and they overbooked their appointments. Was told my wait time would be 2 hrs. I decided to leave. Never having been here before I was a little apprehensive. Within moments my apprehension disappeared! The staff was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and COURTEOUS!! From the time I pulled in until the time I drove out I was treated professionally and with respect. The oil change took maybe 20 minutes! The price was even less then the place I walked out of. I didn't leave a review after my first visit even though I was highly satisfied kind of curious if service was always that way but after stopping in today I can confidently confirm that I am still highly satisfied. There is a lot of additions offered which come at a price. It can add up fast but I also feel like its worth it. Comparable price there as anywhere else. Each time I have been there Moose has been the one to lead the service on our vehicle. Very knowledgable and efficient. I am especially satisfied because he asked to check our filter behind our glove box. I didn't even know it was there!! Needless to say it was filthy and makes me feel better knowing he changed it and now know our children are breathing cleaner air. I came here for an oil change and they told me that my trans fluid needed to be changed ASAP and that there was metal shavings visible. I had just had my trans fluid changed 8 months ago, and even took it back to the car dealership to check out. The dealership told me that the trans fluid was fine, confirming that this place tried to BS me into an expensive service that I didn't need. They successfully changed my oil, but get 2 stars because they were dishonest and tried to BS me. Again....I came here to give them another chance and they said the same. I drive from Chicago, almost 2 hours to do shopping, fuel up, and get smokes. I always stop and get my trucks washed at Drive and Shine in Schererville. I even joined the monthly Ruby wash membership. I also get the interior cleaned every 3rd or 4th wash. Brian and his crew always do an excellent job and make sure the job is done to my satisfaction. I moved from downtown Chicago to the south suburbs 10 years ago and discovered Drive and Shine when I had to pickup my wife from a dealership in the area. What service! I am on my fourth vehicle, drive almost 100,000 miles a year and can't begin to describe how they have taken care of me with not only oil changes, but also doing numerous minor repair repairs. Worst car wash ever. I just used the drive through so not sure about the detailing but judging by the reviews I'd say that's not good either. Paid $20 for the $15 car wash $5 tip. I have a mid size suv, no one brushed the truck before driving through..... with the $5 wash at Luke's the kid brushed my whole truck loosening up dirt before I go through. I wash my truck every week and park in a garage at home so my truck wasn't even that dirty just wanted to make sure to get the salt off. There was dirty drip lines ALL OVER my truck....After the wash the back of my truck was dirtier than when I pulled in... it was like all the dirty water dripped down the back, I had to use my rear wiper after pulling out. Excellent service on the wash and detail to my Honda Pilot tonight 12/12/18 around 5pm. I was greeted, introductions were made and the guys were super thorough and even asked me to inspect the work so they could correct any issues before I left. I was very pleased with how my car looked when I left. To be honest, I was very unhappy with previous service a few months ago. I had several bad experiences of shoddy and less than acceptable work and actually made a complaint at the last visit. I thought I would never go back but because I was in a pinch tonight, I did. And I am glad I gave them another shot. They far exceeded my expectations and I will be back for sure. I do think the issues they had in the past have been corrected with new staff and training. I wish I would have read the reviews before going in. The automated car wash is fine, it's the detailing area that is not good. There was one guy hustling and I give him credit, but it took forever. There is ZERO communication as to what is happening and everyone seems to be skipping from one car to another without having finished. I went to Drive and Shine because it was fairly late and I needed an oil change, this one was close by and open. I immediately felt horrible because they close at 7 and I rolled up at about 6:45, I would have hated me. However, Dan and Dennis were very nice. Not only were they both super friendly but they didn't even make fun of me for not knowing anything about cars, even my own. Also, because they didn't comment on how bad my car smells. I also feel like I should mention how utterly handsome they both were. We're talking Christian Grey times a million AM I RIGHT LADIES?! They were also bumping some awesome tunes on the radio. How many times have you gotten to rock out to some classic Cher while getting your oil changed? It was a welcome first for me. To summarize, this place is, hands down, the best in the world for the following reasons, in order: 1. Excellent, friendly service 2. Good conversation 3. Tunes 4. Eye candy I'll never go to Jiffy Lube again (even though it's right by my house). Had been going to this place for years. They lack customer service!! Pulled in to have my oil levels checked and immediately there was banging under my car. Had my oil topped off, still heard banging. They told me I could go. Found out later my engine cover had fallen down and was dragging the ground! They could have told me or secured it properly!! They let me pull out and I had to get on the expressway. This could have been bad! Called to let a manager know but did not hear from him until his manager called him. If I could give 0 Stars I would!! Took my 04 Dodge Caravan here for an oil change. My husband left and drove 2 miles home and my van died. Dennis a manager came to my house and said that he observed on the camera that the man who changed the oil on my van DIDN'T even OPEN the CAP and put OIL BACK IN MY VAN. They completely fried my engine. According to Joe another manager my van wasn't worth enough to bother fixing it. My van was old but in AMAZING Mechanical condition! I loved my van and didn't want to part with it. Frank the guy who claims to be a partial owner is an ass hole!! He called us and said they had a van to replace my van with and wanted to bring it by and show me. I agreed to this but asked if I liked the van and thought it was a fair trade would they be paying tax title and plate? He said he we would figure that out that he wasn't the owner. Joe on the other hand said he was... About 25 min later he called me back to tell me that offer was no longer on the table. He said they can't find the van anymore! He claims they are DUMB enough to fall for a scam online and that the van has "disappeared". He then told me I could have 1000 cash or 1200 TOWARD a new engine. My Lawyer said that was a horrible offer even with kbb because by law they have to bring me back to whole. I finally agreed to 1800 cash and they wanted my van. In the end I didn't want to go to court and they got to take advantage of me. I have 4 kids and need to get a new van and didn't want to get tied up waiting on a court proceeding. Do yourself a favor and don't deal with this place! They are horrible ppl and the guy that did my oil change is still working on cars and performing oil changes he is clearly not capable of doing.. However they told me they moved him to a different part of the company and he would never touch another car. I have three BAD experiences at Drive and Shine . Their car wash scratch my vehicle on two separate occasion., brought it to the manager's attention,this the manager's response " Our brushes go side to side Not up and down , so therefore our car wash could NOT have those scratches" Essentially he the manager ( Mike ) did nothing, so after that I would get the oil change package that does not come with the car wash. Today I go again to get my oil change find they no longer have the package without the car wash, so therefore I was forced to pay extra for something I am going to use, but here is the real issue with my latest visit, they caused my oil temperature sensor to come on., again called spoke to manager ( Ryan) he stated he would research why that happened and call me back............Still waiting. This review will have to be a two-part review, one for the actual wash and the second is for the staff. First off I came in without an appointment and was accommodated right away mainly because there was no other car here. I drive a Honda accord and I'd like to take care of my car as much as possible. I chose a hand wash over the automated Tunnel. I've never been a fan of automated tunnels anyway. The hand wash cost $35 and includes exterior wash with interior vacuum and window cleaning. This is the first place ever that I have been to that the staff actually discourage you from getting a hand wash and actually really really Push you to take the tunnel instead. I told them I PREFER and hand wash because I know these tunnels don't catch anything. I was told and this is verbatim "that tunnel is very good. We only hand wash usually expensive cars like Mercedes, Corvettes and Porsches." I don't think you can actually be more condescending than that even if you tried. That alone has ruined my experience with this place. I almost don't care how well they're washing it right now because I just want it done and over with and get out of here. As I'm waiting in their waiting area, which had a tv and really comfy couches, a man who appears to be a manager, comes up to me and says "you have TAR on the sides of your car and it won't come off without a SPECIAL cleanser that we will have to use on it" so I come out to check it out myself and all it is was caked on dirt because I haven't washed it for a few weeks through winter. I used my dry finger and rubbed it off. Can't even describe the look on his face. I'm not sure at this point why this manager is such a, how do I put this eloquently.. A jack ass. The place barely does any business from the looks of it and they seem to drive off whatever customers they actually have walk in with their snooty and condescending demeanor. For an automatic car wash, it was surprisingly through. I got the basic car wash and it removed 90% of the bugs on my windshield from a 500 mile commute through MI, IN and IL. Luckily, storms rolled in the next day and wiped off the remaining 10% of bugs in the windshield. read more

My car was very dirty when I brought it in, so I paid for the best wash the had and vacuum which was 33 dollars after the wash was done I pulled around to get the car vacuumed the associate there asked me if I wanted the Windows and inside wiped down for an additional 12 dollars, I agreed, when I bought my vehicle home, the outside of the vehicle still had bugs in the front and the trunk lid still had bird droppings on it, a little disappointed that I spent 45 dollars and the outside of the vehicle didn't look any better than if I took it to a gas station carwash read more

Went here today because I was in the area visiting family. My car desperately needed washing, so I paid for a $25 wash and an extra $15 for The mats and extra vacuuming. I was very disappointed when I got into the car and as I drove away I noticed that the dashboard was still all full of dust; the windows on the outside were cleaned but they missed the inner corners of front 2 windows; and the back of the car was never dried so the water droplets made marks all over the back hatch back of the car. For $40, there should've been a better job done. I should have gone back after I realized what was not done, but I did not have time. I'll look for a different place next time. read more

I just had a great interaction. Told the guys behind the counter I needed to cancel my unlimited until April since the car is going in the garage. They didn't hassle me about keeping it activated (think gym membership) and I engaged with them about the software the runs everything. I signed up for the monthly carwash plan. After a couple months I went to cancel online and found that it couldn't find my information. I call the store and speak to Brandon who asked how he "make me smile today". I explained the situation and he went to confirm my info in their system. He found my name, my exact vehicle, and the last 4 digits of my credit card. But the information that was wrong was ONE digit of my phone number (a 9 instead of a 4) and my email address (he literally entered gibberish). Apparently the kid who signed me up just messed up that info and it blocks me from cancelling my monthly. When Brandon tried to tell me that it was "obviously someone else's account" I was in shock. When I asked for his manager he yelled at me like a child. I then spoke to Janeesa who also was fired up stating that since I had the wrong information that I couldn't cancel my account. I took my 2012 pickup truck to drive and shine a couple of weeks ago, after going through the car wash, i parked and got out to look at it, to my horror it was all scratched up on the drivers side, my truck is a dark blue and there were scratchs all along the bottom, they were swirl marks so i know it was done in the car wash. Too expensive. Back in the day, this place had reasonable prices and not much competition in the surrounding area. As time progressed, more people have moved into the region and competition is stiff. Unfortunately, instead of reeling people in with superior quality and good prices, they have increased their prices and dropped their standard of service.
