Came here for new tires, thought the price was fair. But to sit 2.5 hours is terrible customer service. On top of it they said I wasn't there when they called me. I was there, they had my car. They called my home phone to tell me my car was ready!, really.? The business is filthy and the bathroom was deplorable. Excellent and quick service! They patched my tire right away upon my arrival and the gentlemen behind the counter was very polite and friendly. My family has bought multiple sets of tires from them and they always do a great job. The guys know their stuff so if you have any questions, they're very knowledgeable. When they take a nail out of your tire, they even let you see it and you can add it to their collection bucket! Pretty neat to see! Tip: if you buy your tires from them, they'll provide other services at a discount!! For example, I know they'll give you 30% off an alignment. read more

I buy a lot of tires. I recently switched from another local tire store (that provides other auto services) to Tire Barn and wish I had years ago. TB got me into higher performance tires for same price as I was getting run of the mill Goodyear's. Best part is all they do are tires. They aren't selling you windshield wipers, brakes, air filters, transmission flushes, brake fluid flushes and well...you get it. They are also very friendly . Only reason they get the -1 star is because they aren't always the quickest turn around on rotations. Be ready to leave you car for a few hours . read more

Be very careful to stay away. Until yesterday I took my vehicles here for years. Then I discovered they put whatever oil weight in the engine they desired. I asked for the 0-20 specifically, as recommended by Mazda, and the man at the counter said they not only didn't they have any on hand but they weren't going to get any. I then asked him what they had put in my 2006 Ridgeline, my 2011 Ridgeline, the first oil change in my 2012 Mazda 3, my wife's Jetta, etc. when I was told they were putting in the manufacturer's recommendaton! NOW MR TIRE BEWARE! I don't advise going here. They are listed in Ripoff report for taking advantage of people. They wanted to charge $499 for a tune up and tire rotation!!! That is outrageous. Call other places!!! I needed a simple tune up with wires and plugs. They tried to charge me $28.00 per spark plug when they are $4 LIST(my price was actually 2.99) at the Auto Zone or Advanced Auto. They also tried to charge me $100 for wires and they are $60 at the store! read more

I hit a pothole on the skyway on my way back to the Detroit area on a Sunday morning. We were worried the drive flat may not make it. After going to another tire place in Indiana and making calls to no avail, Tire Barn said they had the right size tire. So another 45 min. drive in the wrong direction, I finally arrived. When they looked at the tire, when it was my turn, they told me the wheel was too bent for them to put the tire on and it wouldn't hold the air. Totally frustrated and despondent by this time as I had wasted over 3 hours, the kind gentlemen at Tire Barn just shared additional information that another customer had driven on a drive flat tire from Pennsylvania to Chicago. I asked what I owed them and they refused any payment for their expertise and time. This was such a kindness and thoroughly unexpected. Although I was very late to arrive home that night, I was comforted by the kindness of the staff at the Tire Barn Warehouse. read more

It's been 2 years from the last review of this Mr. Tire location and I COMPLETELY agree - stay away!! I'm a patient guy and have given them 3 tries - each one was a FAIL! The first was a tire installation (I bought the tires from tirerack.com and had them shipped to Mr. Tire). About a week later, I noticed a lug nut was missing from the back passenger side. I called and they claimed "all were on when it left the shop." I'm sure they were... Time number two I went in to have a balance done about 7,000 miles after the new tire install. This time, I found a lug nut cross threaded SO BAD that the wheel stud broke off when I was doing an emergency brake job. Since this also was a couple weeks after their work, I was to blame because I do my own maintenance! Like a sucker, I went back one more time! This time, I made sure to do a walk-around in the parking lot immediately after my car was returned. Sure enough, 2 of my "closed top" (acorn style)lug nuts had been replaced with "open top" lug nuts. I showed it to the manager and we went back to talk to the tech - he claimed "they were like that when the car came in." I called him a liar to his face and told the manager that I would not be back under ANY circumstances when they tolerate their employees telling bold-faced lies! DO NOT GO TO THIS MR. Not a fan of these types of review sites as it becomes to easy for anyone to voice any opinion they have right or wrong. Therefore I am just going to state the facts as I know them and readers can decide. 12/6/13: I receive a call from my wife stating that the low tire pressure warning light came on. I was out of town so I instructed her to go to Mr Tire (formerly Valpo Tire) to have them fill up the tires. Note that we had done business with them for years and years. I thought that was the end of the subject. 12/8/13: She receives a call from Mr. Tire saying that the parts came in and she can bring her car in for repair. She asks me if I will follow her to Mr. Tire and I ask why. She explains that they told her they needed to order some sensor part and that she already gave them a credit card for $211.21. I laughed and went to the garage, removed the cap, filled the tire up with air and the warning light was gone. All was fixed. I take the receipt/estimate with the breakdown of what they were going to charge her for which also had the last four digits of her credit card number and an approval # which indicated to me that they might have charged the card. The person I spoke with was the same person who name was on the receipt and he tried to explain why the parts were needed. I calmly explained to him that it looked like they were trying to get one over on an unsuspecting female. I was told that I had to call the manager. 12/9/13: I phoned the manager to get the credit card charges reversed. I had the great privilege of sitting in the waiting area while waiting on my SUV to get an alignment. There must be very knowledgeable people that work there since the guys seem to feel the customer is about as smart as a box of rocks...quote/unquote. After waiting for over an hour, and also having made an appointment in advance, I asked when my SUV would be ready. I was promptly and enthusiastically told I was definitely the next in line, and since the guys are more knowledgeable than the customer, the guy told me I definitely needed an alignment. I asked how he knew that since my SUV hadn't moved and no one even looked at it. He had that "deer 'n headlight look", I asked for my keys and left. No "sorry", no "let me reschedule you", no anything. If you know you are running behind, kindly let the customer know and ask how you can accommodate said customer....that's all, be courteous and honest. Not much to ask for really. read more

I took my car in for tires and an alignment. They forgot to do the alignment. I had to go back the next day for the alignment. My car was there for 6 hours, I called 20 min. before closing they said there almost finished? I got there waited around another 20 min. At that time they were closing then the manager comes to me and says they can't align it because the mechanic doesn't feel comfortable doing it. They are very disorganized and have limited abilities, self confesed. This all begins with the so called manager, who should know the capabilities of his workers prior to taking in work! I brought my car here 2 years ago to get new tires and alignment. I ended up having to take it to another place to get it realigned. Just recently, I decided to give them another try- for a simple oil change and tire rotation. Immediately upon leaving, I noticed a loud noise coming from my front tire, vibrations, and a strong exhaust/oil smell. I took it to another place- Mr. Tire had rotated my tires and left something rubbing on the tire, causing the noise and vibration (even though Mr Tire had told me they didn't rotate my tires- new place said it was very obvious). Once fixed, it was back to normal. I drove around with the smell for a month before having it checked out by another place- my oil cap was missing! Mr. Tire had never put it back on. Will never go here again and have been telling everyone I know to stay away. read more

Worst customer service ever! I called and made an 11:30 appointment for an alignment which they said would take 45-60 minutes. Dropped my car off at 11:15 and asked them to call me when it was done so we could pick it up. At 1:30 they still had not called so I called them and they said it was on the rack now and would be done in 15 minutes. Not convince the guy was telling me the truth based on the tone of his response I finished my errands on the other end of town then arrived to pick it up at 2:30. When I got there the my SUV was still on the rack and they told me it would be 15 minutes; I said that's what you said when I called you at 1:30 to which he shrugged his shoulders and said "It's not ready." At 3:10 when they finally called my name, I asked them for the calibration read out and alignment changes they had made and they said they weren't available; that I would have had to asked for them when I dropped the car off. I said every place I have every been has always given me the "before and after reading" and I wanted the information. They said it wasn't possible and it "was no big deal". To which I said I'm the customer and I think it is a big deal and their only solution was to charge me $60 for an alignment reading which would give the current measurements but not the before. No wonder they don't have their names on their shirts they are rude, non customer oriented, and liars! read more
