However, my advisor Mr. Lot Orihuela Jr. demonstrated outstanding communication, thoroughness, and consistency. Instead of working with me, I was basically told "you're out of luck." The offer they gave me was $15,000 less than what I had just paid for the vehicle and they claimed it was the best they could do. I ended up going to Doggett Ford, where they immediately stepped up. Not only did they treat me with respect, but they offered $13,000 more for the Corvette than Lone Star did. On top of that, they put together an incredible deal for me on a Ford Expedition Tremor. The difference in professionalism and customer care was night and day. Unfortunately, the problems with Lone Star didn't stop there. I also purchased a 2022 Chevy truck from them that had some minor bed damage. Lone Star told me they wouldn't even consider repairing it. Since it was meant to be a work truck, I decided not to push the issue because everything else appeared to function properly at the time. They also convinced me to purchase one of their extended warranties, which turned out to be essentially worthless. Only two weeks after leaving the lot, the truck's sensors stopped working and the rear camera began malfunctioning. When I brought the truck in expecting them to stand behind what they sold me, I was instead told I needed to pay a $300 diagnostic fee just to have them look at it. To make matters worse, employees in the service department and even some people from new car sales openly admitted that the used car department frequently pushes these warranties because they add commission, even though the warranties cover almost nothing. At that point, I had completely lost confidence in the dealership. Once again, Doggett Ford came through. They offered me more money for the truck to help get me out of the situation and put me into a more reliable vehicle with a lower monthly payment. It's honestly disappointing to see what has happened to Lone Star. The dealership used to have a reputation for taking care of customers and doing business the right way. Unfortunately, since Sonic Automotive took over, the place feels like the fast-food version of a car dealership, rushed, transactional, and focused on squeezing every dollar instead of building long-term relationships. After years of loyalty, this experience was extremely disappointing. I hope they eventually return to the level of customer service they used to be known for.

I had an oil leak issue that showed up a few months after a routine maintenance service. Jonathan,…read morethe Assistant Service Manager at Toyota, took my car in and thoroughly investigated the problem. He discovered that the issue was caused by improper handling during an oil change at a previous dealership--not Toyota. What really impressed me was how Jonathan handled everything afterward. Even though the mistake wasn't Toyota's, he made sure the issue was properly fixed and taken care of. On top of that, he went above and beyond by arranging for someone to come clean the oil leak left in my parking garage. That level of accountability, professionalism, and care is rare. Jonathan truly exceeded expectations, and I felt supported every step of the way. Highly recommend working with him if you want honest service and someone who genuinely looks out for customers.

As far as "working something out." I did not find anything of that sort offered. I did find out that the offending salesperson, a Josh..... was NOT fired. He just went back to work the next day, another notch on his unscrupulous salesman's belt. This condoning of his practices certainly points to joe myers toyota as a store that has NO morals, whatever. Who would have thought a used car salesman would have any? Does NOT excuse his behavior and his blatant, eye-to-eye LYING! BUT, he managed to sell me his car, or rather, the car he wanted me to buy instead of the one I wanted to purchase. Fraud! Management right up to the front office of Joe Myers INC. condones it. You decide whether or not you want to show up there to buy any car, used or new. Yesterday I received a refund check from JOe Myers, toyota for....$5. It was a return of an overcharge on the registration procedure. It seemed quite incongruous to me. On the one hand, I was defrauded by a lying salesman of a car costing $35,000+, but on the other, they made sure to return their $5 over charge for the registration papers. The graph above my first remarks stated previously shows the picture. There are some 5's for service done properly, but the bottom of the graph showing those totally unhappy with shopping at Joe Myers Toyota runs right off the graph! I did, finally sell the car I purchased from Joe Myer's stooge and now own the one I first walked into the Joe Myers toyota to buy. I used CARMAX to do it. The buying and selling experiences I have had with them are 180 degrees in pleasant experience from the Joe Myers, gang. I did lose $1500 though. Whenever you sell then buy a car you loose something. With Josh Rios, I lost the $1500.

He took the vehicle to the nearest AutoZone, where he was told the airflow sensor needed to be replaced. He was also informed that it looked like someone had previously tried to replace the part because the screws appeared tampered with. I immediately contacted the dealership and spoke with Eddie, who directed me to Frank in Sales. Despite multiple calls from me, Frank refused to return them. Only recently did his assistant call back--simply to tell me that because there was no extended warranty, I was responsible for all repairs. I am deeply upset and feel that I was taken advantage of and sold a lemon, especially as a single mother trying to do the right thing for my child. This is not the level of integrity I expected from such a well known dealership. For comparison, when I purchased my car from Sewell Infiniti two years ago, a tire shop later discovered that the dealership had installed incorrect tires. Sewell contacted me immediately, asked me to return the vehicle, and corrected the issue at no cost. They admitted the car should have never left the lot in that condition. If Sewell could take responsibility for their mistake, why can't John Eagle Honda? To make matters worse, we still have not received the tags or license plates for the car. I believe this situation raises important concerns for other consumers, and I want to prevent anyone else from experiencing what my family has gone through.

Deceptive and misleading experience…read more I purchased a 2025 Ram 1500 from Houston DCJR after clearly explaining that I needed a truck capable of towing my fully equipped commercial food trailer for my business, The Birria Queen. I relied on the dealership's recommendation when selecting the vehicle. Less than 24 hours after purchase, I hooked up my trailer and immediately discovered the truck was not adequately suited for the towing application I had specifically described during the sales process. I returned to the dealership the same day seeking a resolution. The dealership's solution was to install an air suspension system. While the modification helped level the truck, it did not resolve the underlying issue--the truck still struggled with the load of my trailer. I questioned why a brand-new truck needed modifications to perform the job I purchased it to do in the first place. Despite making my intended use clear before the sale, I was never advised that the vehicle may not be the right fit for my towing needs. The only resolution offered was for me to trade the truck, which would require me to absorb a significant financial loss. As a small business owner, I depend on my vehicle to generate income. I trusted the dealership's expertise and recommendations, and I am extremely disappointed with how this situation has been handled. I hope Houston DCJR will take accountability and work toward a fair resolution.

First, I was told by the sales rep that the tires were brand new on the used car we bought. I ran over a nail recently and took the car into discount tire for a quick patch. The discount tire employee explained that the tire had already been patched and that none of the tires were new, not even close. He taught me to ignore the "nice tread" and look at the numbers on the tire to identify the year manufactured. Second, I was very disappointed on how they financed the deal. I take ownership of my own ignorance in the process so lesson learned. However, it'd be nice if someone there had some integrity and explained the process before having you sign the dotted line. They ran my credit six times. Six hard credit pulls instantly on my record. I wouldn't have agreed to them trying their financing if I knew that they were going to do that. I could've done some soft pulls elsewhere and got prequalified. Also, AFTER they ran my credit six times, they said the only way the deal would work is if I put $3000 down. I felt forced since my credit report was already dry taking a massive hit. Lastly, don't ever buy 3rd party warranty at the same time as buying a car. Over $1000 per year baked into a financed deal (paying interest). Horrible deal and another lessoned learned.

Mr. Cunningham initially reassured me that I could trust him despite my past negative experiences with other dealerships. I was preapproved for a 2020 Kia Sorento (navy blue) with a $2,000 down payment, and after test driving, I was very excited about the purchase. However, when it came time to finalize my income details, my down payment unexpectedly increased from $2,000 to $2,800--even though I had already chosen my bank and received approval. Since I could not afford the increased amount, I agreed to consider a different option--a 2019 Kia Sorento(burgundy). Mr. Cunningham assured me that this vehicle would be ready for pickup on Friday, September 12. On that day, he asked me for my Social Security number again, which I found unusual, but I complied under the assumption it was a verification step. To my shock, my credit was run two more times that morning. This not only further lowered my credit score but also caused my down payment to increase to $4,100--more than double the original agreement. The experience left me frustrated, upset, and in tears. Instead of offering genuine solutions, I was told my only options were to provide a co-signer or to pay the additional $2,000, which I did not have. For comparison, when I later visited your Southwest Freeway location, salesman Jordan provided outstanding customer service. He worked with me to find alternatives and successfully presented my original credit application to the bank. As a result, I was approved for the 2020 Kia Sorento with the original $2,000 down payment--exactly what should have happened from the start. Instead of picking up my car now I have to wait for the car to get shipped again to a different location further away. This situation caused unnecessary stress, financial strain, and wasted time. While I am happy to have ultimately received the car I wanted, the process at the Cyfair location was unacceptable and avoidable. I hope CarMax takes this feedback seriously and ensures that customers are not subjected to repeated hard inquiries, miscommunication, and misleading information during the car-buying process. I am giving two stars since I am getting the car I wanted originally.
