If work needs to be done on our car, he lets us know, but if work isn't needed, then he clearly lets us know that as well. On one occasion, our van needed a new transmission. Although he does not do transmission work himself, we discussed the merits of getting a new transmission versus buying a new car. Based on the soundness of our van, we ultimately decided that it was best to replace the transmission. He recommended another shop to us and he didn't even charge us for the diagnostic work that he did on the van. I got taken for $525.00 because they charged $105 for each time they plugged the diagnostic machine into my car, even when it was done to check after they'd done a repair. That doesn't even touch on all the other things they said were part of a service, but when I checked my bill afterwards, they had charged me separately for every task that was supposed to be "included", so nothing was "included as part of the service package price". No wonder they wouldn't let me see my bill until AFTER I had paid them! This garage OVERCHARGES on everything. I know cars and have always read my bills item for item, but this garage takes the cake! They take advantage of people and lie about what they're charging you for. I would hate to see what they do to seniors when they bring their cars in to be repaired!
