Made an appointment online with a description of an on-going overheating problem I was having with my 68 cougar. Was emailed back with a description of what would be looked at as part of the diagnosis, as well as an estimate. Had the car dropped off on a Wednesday and by Friday afternoon, got an email / text that the car was done, with a copy of the work that was completed and the bill. Geoff also let me know that he would have the shop open on Saturday, so I could pick up the car. When I arrived we went over what they found and the repairs that were made and they had performed a solid road test and the car stayed at operating temp. Drove the car back home and the engine temp stayed right where it should even sitting in traffic and stop lights. Took the car Saturday night to a car show in town and it ran great (actually runs better than it ever has after it came out the Driven Garage) and the engine temp stayed right where it should. I am so happy that I get to enjoy the car in the heart of the season of cars and coffee and weekend meet and greets. Geoff also took the time and showed me around the his new Hayward shop and all the projects in progress. This shop is busy, he stated that during the week he has over 10 technicians / mechanics employed. We also discussed re-wiring the whole car (next project) and wrote me an estimate. I cannot say enough good things about Geoff and the crew at Driven Garage. I needed help fixing up a 86 Land Cruiser I had bought off the side of the road. From the beginning Brandon was so warm and helpful. When I met Geoff, he not only heard all of my ideas but gave me some of his own for customization and upgrades, which were all fantastic. This collaboration continued throughout the job, and the result was absolutely incredible. They turned an old beater version of my favorite truck into something beautiful, even having to rebuild two doors and a fender in a way I still can't understand how it was even possible. They also made me custom bumpers from scratch that are extremely cool. They were super communicative the whole time and pretty damn fast for such a big job. Issues (among others) found after having them install a new ford-9 inch rear end w/ emergency brake, and a QA1 full suspension handling kit back in 2022. Non-functioning parking brake: Incapable of properly setting up parking brake shoe (brake was dragging and burning w/smoke) that came with QP ford-9 inch package. Parking brakes do not stop at all even after taking it into the shop an additional 2 time. I gave up on them as they seem incompetent on fixing such an important task. Overtightened diff housing studs to the point of threads being spun out on a new Ford 9 inch housing from QP. Diff fluid was leaking; took it back into them and they stated it was due to being overfilled/venting. But after taking it to another mechanic they found other issues that Driven Garage never confessed. Unable to resolve issues on squeaky suspension: had them install a Qa1 suspension handling kit; After turning up rebound and compression on shocks a clicks, front passenger shocks chirped like a bird when going over small to large bumps. Took it back in and the furthest they went was excessively lubricating said area, all to no avail. They made no other recommendations and seemed defeated to solve the issue. In summary, Driven Garage falls short of making sure your car is dialed-in after leaving their lot (Despite taking the car back over and over again post-install). Their work and ability to resolve intermediate to advanced issues is substandard at best. read more

The owner of this place comes off as a money hungry con artist. Sure, the techs who work there are capable but good luck getting your classic in there if there's someone who happens to come in waving cash or a black card, your bucket goes to the back of the line or you can pick it up half ass done. The owner will quote you on parts he'll gladly change and replace when your car is there without notifying you so it'll be to late. The bat area needs more retromod shops so this one can either humble themselves or just move away. read more

I contacted them to rewire my classic mustang, I spoke to someone on the phone, gave her my details of my car and the work I wanted to have done. No one reached out to me, I called them back a week later, the lady on the phone couldn't find my info, gave it to her again, she said someone would contact me, haven't heard from anyone, very unprofessional, if you don't want to do the work, just say so, don't leave a potential customer with false hopes. Geoff and his team saved my BMW E46 M3 from being scrap metal. The shop exceeded all my expectations from excellent communication, price, quality of work, and the turnaround time. Scenario: the e46 chassis is notorious for the subframe cracking. Previous owner had it reinforced, but the weld was done shitily by another shop. Paired with hard track days and the bad welds, the trunk floor decided to split from the chassis. Many notable shops declined to work on the car because it was "too far gone" or referred me to a body shop. I was referred to Geoff by a respectable local BMW shop. I was skeptical at first because Geoff seemed to specialize in older hot rods and muscle cars. Here I am bringing a German computer and didn't know how his work would translate over. It also didn't help that his price was more than reasonable and that he'd get it done faster than I ever expected. IT WAS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. Through multiple phone conversations, a few visits he put my anxiety at ease. His excellent communication helped cure my anxiety over the repair process. I'm not normally one to leave a negative review on a shop but my experience here was far from great. Some context I needed my 89 bronco re geared, as it's on 35s I purchased the parts myself ( huge mistake on my end) turns out no one will warranty labor if you bring your own parts however, I didn't buy from a random company (Yukon and motive gear parts) same as the shop would supply I just found them for much much cheaper through a different vendor. Well fast forward a year, I'm getting a new set of shocks and front end done at another shop and they open up the front differential to find out that it was set incorrectly and I'm missing teeth on the gears. I call Jeff since he did the job just to be told they've done tons of gears there's no way they did it incorrectly. Must have been a ghost that broke the gears on their own... he offered me no help on anything other than charging me full rate to redo it again. However this isn't where the problems end I bite the bullet decide get it fixed else where. Two months later the rear differential exploded on me. The truck had less than 5k on since being regeared. Again Jeff blames the components I bought vs accepting any responsibility for setting them incorrectly. I can understand maybe one but BOTH differentials he worked on completely failing a year and some change after he installed them? This is partially my fault for supplying my own parts. However it's safe to say as I was told by two separate mechanics that these were installed incorrectly and he should have assume some responsibility for the poor job he did on my truck instead of hiding behind some small print policy. It's Just not honest good business. Most business' stand behind the work they do not hide behind a policy. read more

I spoke with the owner of the shop (Jeff) in august of 2021 about doing upgrades to my 69 Camaro. We established a list of things that needed to be completed and what timeline it would be and also cost that was associated with the upgrades. I was told that the parts would be in by the time I had to drop my car off for the schedule appointment toward late September. Deposit of 20k was given prior to my car making it to the shop which left enough capital for whatever parts that need to be order. So the big day came to drop my car off and I was excited about the process because we spoke about streamlining the process and the window that it would take to complete the job. Time went on, I check in periodically to be proactive on the build in terms of parts that were needed. Jeff kept a open line of communication which is why 1 star is present but things took a turn left when Jeff had personal issues which the empathy in me understood but it became to personal when he decided to direct profanity toward me as if he was doing me a favor and I wasn't a paying customer. I had to restrain from the situation going further. My car was at the shop for close to 6 months on a job that was schedule for the max of 2 months. Now you will hear about supply chain and other excuses, but let's be very clear that supply chain only matters when you are handcuffed to a handful of vendors. I was able to source my own parts for this car that he couldn't allegedly find. It was wrong year parts order by Jeff that continued to slow up the process including a 68 Camaro a/c controller that restomod air clarified with me. To add more fuel to the flame he insinuated that another customer was a drug dealer or rapper because he had a lump sum of money and requested his car be fixed quick. Please tell me what that sounds like. SMH. My car was unfinished when I took it home and couldn't stomach another day of doing business with this shop the final situation was me dealing with his girlfriend and her closing out the payment and him trying to charge me extra on previous amount that was agreed on. Lol. Bottom line if you plan on running a business that deals with the public keep your personal business out of it and if your not a customer friendly person start a online business. read more
