This has been the DMV with the best coordination and kindness I have ever been to. From the security team at the front door to the staff inside, everyone was professional, helpful, and welcoming. We were assisted at Station 7 by a young Black gentleman who was truly outstanding--patient, respectful, and extremely courteous throughout the entire process. I had a very disappointing experience at this location. I drove all the way from Pembroke Pines, which took over an hour, because the center there had more than 200 people waiting in line since 12pm and it was 2:30pm with no movement. I remembered this location at Kendall from when I used to live nearby and always thought it provided good service. When I arrived, Maria and a security guard were taking down the stanchions. I asked if I could still go inside, and they told me the office was closed and only at that moment attending appointments. This was extremely frustrating because the website says the center closes at 5 PM, yet I was told they were already closed at 4 PM. There was also no clear information online that this location is appointment-only and does not accept walk-ins. Even after explaining that I had driven over an hour to get there and they can see that my driver license address is not from this county, there was no effort to assist or provide guidance, which felt very dismissive and unwelcoming. If this location closes earlier than advertised or does not accept walk-ins, the website should clearly state that so people don't waste their time driving long distances. The lack of communication and guest service here was very disappointing. read more

THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!!!!! I got here at 6:45 scanned my OR code and had no problem waiting till 8am when they opened which was also my appointment time. I came to renew and change my address and I had phone bill listing my name and address change, lease amendment, car insurance, etc. the man whom was helping me was extremely rude from the beginning I was trying to explain to him I've never done this before and even tho I had those 3 documents he made me wait and take a sit in the back not even 4 min of me sitting there a lady asked me what I was doing, I let her know WIATING FOR MY LEASE OFFICE SO SEND ME THE LEASE as if 3 papers with my name and address aren't enough???? And she told me I had to move. I literally got up and just waited standing. When I finally was able to get my full lease at 9am which is the time they opened. I come back to this man's stand he is the one with the dreads. They have the audacity to tell me "he went on break" so you open at 8am and take break an hour later?????? This was the most organized, fastest experience I've ever encountered for this type of experience. The personnel were extremely nice, courteous, efficient! I had an appointment for 11:30am to renew my license, I arrived at 10:30am thinking like all my other experiences it would be a madhouse even with an appointment. Well they took me right in and I was able to renew/pay and receive my renewed license within 15 min. It took longer for me to find a parking space than it did for me to complete my appointment. We made an appointment a month ago for my 84 year old dad to get a new ID. The appointment was for 11:30 a.m. on a Friday. There was only one person ahead of us in the appointment line and a long line in the walk-ins line outside the office. We were ask to go inside right away and sit down and wait. The room inside was packed with like 25 people. It is 12:30 and we are still waiting to be called. Then they ask us to make a line. There were only two clerks working on this day. Once you go inside there is not a good organization. They start calling out anyone. Those with an appointment should have a priority. It took 2 hours to get the ID for my dad. I understand that they were short of staff, but what I don't understand is the awful system they have to serve an elderly person or anyone. It really didn't make sense having an appointment. Probably the most well organized and efficient DMV location in Miami. The lines are always very long but if you make an appt in advance, you'll be good to go. Waiting area is pretty small but you can also step outside and grab a bite next door. Parking is sufficient but during peak hours, it may be a challenge. Everything is automated now a days so it's just a matter of waiting your turn. Went to do a license renewal the other day and the service rep was very nice and professional. Only knock on rating was for initial check in, which is a little confusing as they don't clearly indicate where people with appt should go when you are outside. read more

Very human and excellent staff. At 7 am I took my autistic daughter there to get an ID and they give her priority over anybody else (with no appointment). They understood the special needs of her and was treated accordingly. The lady in charge there acted very professional and polite. The staff inside gave us a very sweet treatment and everything to get my daughter's ID was very smooth and done in less than 20 minutes. As a parent I really appreciate the empathy the staff had on this matter. This is not my first time there and they always show professionalism. Thanks to all of you ladies. Arrived 1 hr before opening time and waited in line for even longer than that as a walk-in. When I finally got inside I told them I needed to get my original driver's license and was told back "oh sorry we are only doing appointments or license reinstatements today. It's crazy over the next two weeks." So... there is no signage outside indicating this information to the huge line, and to top it off... the seats inside were almost completely empty! I understand prioritizing appointments, but how can you expect people to obtain driver's licenses or ID cards if they offer ridiculously few appointments and then kick out the walk ins. For a DMV, they actually didn't even seem that busy! This is also the second time I've been to the DMV here. The first time, with an appointment, for my learner's license exam was similarly ridiculous. Despite being able to get my license the employee had no idea what the DMVs rules were and made things up. As per the website you can provide documents from financial institutions as proof of address. I did so to be lied to (in opposition to their listed rules online) that "they have changed things recently and now need a lease document". That is NOT what is stated online. Another employee had to correct him considering he was blatantly making things up and had no idea what he was talking about. I also suspect that today I could have been served and they told me to leave for no official reason. It seems coming here is a complete luck of the draw, and if you do get through to someone, argue your case if you are certain you are correct. Clueless employees, made-up rules and lack of organization seems to be the norm. read more

It was near closing time (5:00) but they took me as a walk-in and bang bang, brief interview, vision test, all set. They even stayed open past 5:00 to get everyone done. Not the most efficient or well run state administered DMV I have been to. The office is in a plaza shopping center so parking is bad. Come early and give yourself plenty of time to park. -There are 2 lines, 1 for appointments and 1 for walk ins. Good luck trying to get a walk in. Their advice for walk ins is to arrive 2 hours before the office opens to stand in line. The appointments are prioritized. The same people that were in the front of the walk in line were still there when I left 2.5 hours later, meaning appointments are key! -The line closest to the building was for appointments. No clear signage or communication from the employees. Stand in line to check in with the person checking your appt time and your ID, they only allow the person scheduled to enter the office so don't bring a friend unless they want to wait outside, bring your printed appt confirmation to check in -After you check in, you are let inside dependent on room occupancy. Otherwise, you will be waiting in line. Once inside, you will sit and move forward as the appts are handled (they do have chairs at this point) -Make sure you have all your documentation. Save yourself stress by checking online for the list of required documentation -Pay by credit card, no cash -There is a bathroom for appt holders once inside -Be prepared to wait!!! Even with an 11:30am appt, after check in and waiting your turn; it took 2.5 hours -No one wears masks and you will be standing close to people in the line for hours -Unlike other states where the DMV handles licenses, titles, license plates in the same office, Florida is separated. This office handles driver licenses, CDL, etc however you have to go to a separate tag agency/tax to title, pay vehicle taxes, and tag your vehicle Tips for appointments. They never answer the phone. Do it online and keep checking the times. It took me numerous attempts until I finally got an appt for 3 months in the future! Might have more luck with another county's less busy office. Make sure you select the appropriate appointment type for your needs such as Original or Renewal. If you select the incorrect one; you may not accomplish your goal. The appt slots for original license are harder to get than the renewals one. So starting July 1st this place stopped taking appointments, huge mistake, no idea why they'd stop that. But okay.. You'd think at 8:30am on a Wednesday that this place wouldn't be packed? Well, you're wrong.. just like I was. Been here since 8:30am. Made a line wrapped around the back end of the building, waited almost 3 hours and then FINALLY made it to the front and was informed that since my "ID doesn't have a star on it" that I require additional documentation to enter. Doesn't matter that I brought what the website told me to bring. 3 hours. No fucks given just yeah. Can't help you. Go get your passport. So a family member had to bring me my passport cause if I left I'd have to remake the whole line. And again, zero fucks given by the employee. And well, that took another 30 minutes. And then I still had to wait about 15 minutes for the employee to even bother to allow me to give her my passport so that I could form a new line behind her. Best part? Finally, I was allowed into the building. But guess what? I got to wait in another line, at least with AC. But hey, 5 hours at a DMV just to renew my license. Great times. Don't come here until they allow appointments again. Or just don't have plans cause you'll be here all day. read more

Very disorganized. I made an appointment in the first half of December, first available appointment for today 02/03/23 at 10:30 am. You still have to get on line outside. It is 11:05 am , and I'm still waiting inside with more or less 30 people in front of me. Either get a bigger center, more people to actually take care of customers with appointments, or do not give so many appointments at the same exact time. This is unbelievable, many people disappointed, angry, and wasting their time. Imagine the line of people without appointments, they will be here the whole day! I am extremely happy with the service I got at this driver license center. First of all I got upset because to make an appointment it wasn't easy and it was something that you only can do it online. So by the time I got my appointment and I was able to go to renew my drivers license I wasn't that happy. But once I got there and I saw all the organization on how they took COVID19 seriously, I loved it. Everyone were wearing gloves and mask, maintaining social distancing, making sure the customers had what they want and no one without an appointment was able to go inside, the service was effective, The customer service was great and I got my appointment at 4:30 AM by 4:45 I was out with my new driver license. I was surprisingly impressed with them. Of course there was a line when I got here. It was around 1:30pm with an outside line of about 15 people. Then around 2:05pm I was let in with a group of people. As soon as the group and I was in we were lead to various lines (we were spread evenly) and just like that a nice lady with short curly hair helped me. Unfortunately, my purse had been stolen from my car so it was a breath of fresh air to come across nice people when going through something negative....to my surprise it went smoothly. I told her what happened she asked for my name, address, and social security. That's all! She took my picture asked me a few other questions, directed me to another nice woman paid her $25, asked to be sitter and that I'll be called. 15 min later I was called got my license and left at 2:31pm. Why does the Florida highway safety and motor vehicles send you the option to renew your license on line and when you fill it out gives you a customer number but doesn't allow you to pay. I called several times and was on hold for over an hour multiple times. I was obligated to come to this driver license Service Center to hurry up and wait! I asked several people how I could have avoided yo come in and all they knew to say was "I don't know!" In a rude tone. I am just glad I came at the end of the day before they close the doors! Seen it happen before, where they see people approaching and they close the door in their face. I felt bad for them. I know the importance of a license. Did not come ready for a picture!
